(Minghui.org) A 77-year-old man was forced to live away from home last fall to avoid facing trial for his faith in Falun Gong and is now on the wanted list by the police.
Mr. He Ziguang is a well-known businessman in Zhucheng City, Shandong Province. Due to various reasons, he lost millions in a few years and became debt-ridden. Upon hearing about his situation, his daughter-in-law, a Falun Gong practitioner, sold her own house for Mr. He to pay off the debt. Touched by her kindness, Mr. He also took up the practice. His many illnesses disappeared shortly after.
For talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at a community fair in Huanghua Town on March 13, 2023, Mr. He was arrested by plainclothes officers and taken to the Huanghua Police Station.
Hao Xiaojun, the deputy director of the Zhucheng City Domestic Security Division, Ju Jinji of the Huanghua Police Station, and Pang Jinying of the Renmin Road Police Station raided Mr. He’s home and confiscated many of his Falun Gong books. He was put on criminal detention at the Zhucheng City Detention Center on the same day.
Mr. He was released on house arrest on April 19, 2023. He was ordered to report to the Zhucheng City Domestic Security Division whenever he needed to go out. He applied to the Zhucheng City Domestic Security Division, the Huanghua Police Station and Remin Road Police Station to lift the house arrest, but to no avail. The Zhucheng City Domestic Security Division later submitted his case to the Zhucheng City Procuratorate and prosecutor Song Yanmei was assigned to handle his case.
Officer Ju of the Huanghua Police Station and two others broke into Mr. He’s home on August 15, 2023 and demanded to take him to the procuratorate to fill in some paperwork. Mr. He’s family asked them if they had proper documents for doing so. Ju flashed a piece of paper and said that it was the legal basis for the summons, but he put it back immediately without allowing the family to see what was written on it. The family said they would accompany Mr. He to the procuratorate. Ju called prosecutor Song and left after the latter agreed for Mr. He to go there on his own.
Mr. He went to the procuratorate in the afternoon. He also filed a complaint against the police for persecuting him.
Less than a month later on September 12, 2023, a judge surnamed Wang of the Zhucheng City Court called Mr. He and asked him to pick up his indictment.
To avoid facing trial, Mr. He was forced to live away from home weeks later. As both his son and daughter had passed away, the judge kept harassing his daughter-in-law for his whereabouts.
When Mr. He’s daughter-in-law returned home after work on October 30, 2023, her neighbors told her that the police had been coming two days in a row to knock on her door. They stayed outside of her home for a long time each time before leaving. Worried about her safety, her neighbor said she shouldn’t open the door for the police if they came again.
