The proclamation reads, “May 13, 2024 marks the 25th World Falun Dafa Day. It was first designated on May 13, 2000, to celebrate the Falun Dafa spiritual discipline and its positive impact on the health and spirit of millions around the world.
“The occasion also highlights Falun Gong practitioners’ efforts to uphold their freedom of belief in the face of brutal persecution by the Chinese Communist regime since 1999.
“Throughout the years, Falun Dafa practitioners in Maryland have participated in a variety of cultural activities and provided free practice instruction in Baltimore, as well as hosting Shen Yun Performing Arts in the City every year.”
