(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 72 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zheng Shuhua Arrested and Detained

1. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Miao Zhongjun Imprisoned
Mr. Miao Zhongjun from Xincheng District has been on trial twice and was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. He was taken to the Weinan Prison in mid-April 2024. His family was told that he would not be allowed to be visited since he is undergoing a two-month “strengthened education.”
2. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhu Yamei Missing
Ms. Zhu Yamei, 73, went out on May 2, 2024, and has been missing since.
3. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhao Yan Faces Trial
Ms. Zhao Yan’s son received a notice from the Chengdu Railway Court on the evening of May 5, 2024, informing him that Ms. Zhao Yan, 78, will be tried in court on May 6, 2024.
4. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zuo Yingai Arrested
Ms. Zuo Yingai was arrested at her rented property in Pingchang, Dagang Town, a month ago. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
5. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yu Hongying Imprisoned
Ms. Yu Hongying was sentenced to three and a half years in prison on June 12, 2023. She was transferred from the Xichang City Detention Center to the Chengdu Women’s Prison in mid-January 2024.
6. [Gaizhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Fengcong Arrested and Detained
Ms. Liu Fengcong was arrested by officers from the Taiyangsheng Police Station when she talked to people about Falun Gong on April 14, 2024. She was sent to the Yingkou City Detention Center.
7. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Ms. Liu Kun Arrested
Ms. Liu Kun who works at a hospital in Yingzhou District, was arrested by officers from the Jiefang Road Police Station on April 24, 2024.
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zheng Shuhua Arrested and Detained
Ms. Zheng Shuhua from the Chengjianjiayuan Residential Community, was arrested by officers from the Yangjia Police Station in Erdao District on the morning of April 19, 2024. Her home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books were confiscated. Ms. Zheng is currently detained in the Weizigou Detention House. She has symptoms of high blood pressure and has difficulty eating.
9. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Peiai Arrested and Detained
Ms. Zhang Peiai was arrested on the afternoon of April 16, 2024. She was detained in the Pudong Detention Center. Her case has been submitted to the procuratorate.
10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yan Guozhu Arrested and Detained
Mr. Yan Guozhu was arrested at his workplace in the Changchun Railway Depot by officers from the Dongsheng Road Police Station in Erdao District, on the morning of April 19, 2024. His home was ransacked. He was placed under 15-day detention and sent to the Weizigou Detention House.
After Mr. Yan was detained for 15 days, he was transferred to an unknown location by officers from the Dongsheng Road Police Station on May 4, 2024.
11. [Beijing] Ms. Dong Shuzhen Placed Under Residential Surveillance
Ms. Dong Shuzhen lives in Xiaodiantun Village, Yongledian Town, Tongzhou District. She was placed under residential surveillance by the Yongledian Town Police Station and the local village committee.
Ms. Dong’s home was ransacked by officers from the Yongledian Police Station before April 25, 2024. Ms. Dong was taken away and detained for a few days. She was released due to her heart condition.
