(Minghui.org) A 49-year-old resident of Fuqing City, Fujian Province, was committed involuntarily to the Fuqing City Psychiatric Hospital after he was reported for talking to people about the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of his faith, Falun Gong.

The person who learned of Mr. Weng Changgui’s detention is calling on insiders to reveal further details of his persecution.

Mr. Weng took up Falun Gong before the persecution began in July 1999. His latest ordeal was preceded by multiple prior detentions over the course of the persecution. He was twice arrested prior to 2006 and held for more than one month each time. After the first arrest, his family was forced to pay a 3,000-yuan extortion fee to secure his release.

Not long after he was released from his second detention, Mr. Weng was arrested again in July 2006, this time in Fuzhou (the capital city of Fujian Province, about 30 miles away, which oversees his hometown of Fuqing City). The police took Mr. Weng back to Fuqing to face prosecution. The Fuqing City Court sentenced him to three years.

The guards at the Longyan Prison forced Mr. Weng to watch and read anti-Falun Gong materials. They also abused him in despicable means, including force feeding him other people's phlegm.

The Fuzhou 610 Office arranged people to monitor and shadow Mr. Weng after he completed his three-year prison sentence. They pressured his employer, a local supermarket, to terminate him as a produce buyer. Additionally, they bribed his former classmates and relatives into assisting them in persecuting him. More than once, those “helpers” were instructed to lace his food or drink with sleeping pills, poison, or aphrodisiacs in an attempt to physically weaken or even kill him.

The 610 Office agents also altered articles written by the founder of Falun Gong and found ways to have him read them, but Mr. Weng saw through their tricks and remained steadfast in practicing Falun Gong.
