(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners peacefully petitioned in front of the Chinese Embassy in Madrid on April 26, 2024, calling on the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. The event also commemorated the 25th anniversary of the April 25 peaceful appeal in 1999.

From 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., practitioners held banners in Chinese and Spanish with the messages, “Falun Dafa Is Good,” “The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion -Forbearance,” “Stop Harvesting Falun Gong Practitioners’ Organs,” “Stop Persecuting Falun Gong,” and “Falun Dafa Spreads to the World.” The event also featured pictures and illustrations of the CCP’s torture of Falun Gong practitioners and live organ harvesting.
Practitioners distributed information about the persecution and told people about the CCP’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners over the past 25 years. Many people condemned the CCP’s dictatorship and human rights violations, and signed a letter of solidarity with Falun Gong against the persecution. Some practitioners demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises during the event, and the scene was quiet and peaceful, attracting many passers-by to stop and watch. Some asked where they could learn the exercises.

At the event, human rights lawyer Mr. Carlos said, “The persecution has gone on for 25 years, a quarter of a century. Falun Gong practitioners in China are still being persecuted, and their organs are harvested while they are still alive. Everyone should stand up and call on the good people of the world to work together to stop the CCP’s cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.”
In his speech, Mr. Martin, a Falun Gong practitioner, addressed the Chinese Embassy officials: “At this life-and-death juncture concerning your future fate, whether to quit the Party or to be destroyed together with the Communist Party will be the last major choice in your life. Don’t reject the truth; Don’t help the persecution. Treating Falun Gong practitioners well will leave a path of salvation for yourself. Remember, Falun Dafa is good, and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!”
Ms. Sofia sang songs such as “Coming For You,” “Falun Holy King,” and “Heaven Destroys the CCP,” which conveyed the compassion and peace of mind and unwavering will of Falun Gong practitioners.
Mr. Vincent from France said, “The international community must act to help stop the persecution.”
Mr. Vicente Molino from France, who sympathized with Falun Gong, passed by the Chinese embassy. He said, “It’s a shame that there are still people persecuted because of their religious beliefs.” He stressed that it’s important for the world to understand the facts of the ongoing persecution in China. The international community must act to help stop the persecution.
Mr. Luis Castilla praised Falun Gong practitioners and said, “Your activities are righteous and noble.”
Mr. Luis Castilla said the practitioners’ rally exposed the evil within the CCP system, the suppression of freedom of belief, human rights violations and the atrocities of live organ harvesting, and said, “Your activities are righteous and noble.” He read the banners and the information about the persecution, and took many photographs. He signed the petition to stop the persecution, saying that he would tell his family and friends what he saw today.
Ms. Christina Gómez said, “This kind of event should be held in all countries around the world so that everyone knows about the CCP’s atrocities.
Ms. Cristina Gómez passed by the embassy and said, “Peaceful assemblies and exposure of persecution and live organ harvesting in China are a sign of justice. Such events should be held in all countries of the world so that everyone knows about the atrocities of the CCP.”
Regarding the CCP’s live organ harvesting, she said, “This is a shame for the whole world and for Europe. In communist Chinese society, money is more important than human rights. Today I saw this kind of gathering for the first time in front of the Chinese Embassy, and I think it’s very good. It is admirable that you are not afraid to expose evil.” After signing the petition to stop the persecution, she also took some information with her, and said she would share it with her family and friends.
Ms. Asunción condemned the organ harvesting and said, “It’s an unprecedented massacre that must be stopped.”
Ms. Asunción signed the petition as soon as she learned about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong and the organ harvesting of its practitioners. She said, “Your petition activity is wonderful, and I admire you. Live organ harvesting is an unprecedented massacre that must be stopped. I will tell everyone I meet so that people can learn about the CCP’s crimes. Good luck and I hope these signatures help.”
Background: What Is the April 25 Appeal?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries worldwide. Millions of people have embraced the teachings—which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance as well as five gentle exercises—and experienced improved health and well-being.
On April 23 & 24, 1999, police officials in Tianjin, a city near Beijing, assaulted and arrested dozens of practitioners who had gathered outside a magazine office to discuss errors in a recently-published article attacking Falun Dafa. As word spread of the arrests and more practitioners inquired with officials, they were told they had to take their appeals to Beijing.
The following day, April 25, some 10,000 Falun Dafa practitioners spontaneously gathered at the Central Appeals office in Beijing, as they had been instructed by Tianjin officials. The gathering was peaceful and orderly. Several Falun Dafa representatives were called in to meet with Chinese Premier, Zhu Rongji, and members of his staff. That evening, practitioners’ concerns were answered. The arrested practitioners in Tianjin were released and everyone went home.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the CCP, perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and issued an order to ban Falun Dafa on July 20, 1999.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners due to the persecution over the years; the actual number is suspected to be much higher. More have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply the organ transplant industry.
