(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the 110th Picnic Day Parade at the University of California in Davis on April 12, 2024.

Picnic Day is one of the largest student-run events in the United States. It has a history of 115 years at UC Davis, and this year, more than 70,000 people were expected to participate in this annual festive open house. Many groups participated in the parade, and throughout the event there were diverse exhibitions, including animal exhibitions, technology exhibitions, live performances, games, and food.
The Tian Guo Marching Band in their striking blue and white costumes played music along the two-mile-long parade route. The band is made up entirely of Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) practitioners. Spectators applauded warmly and praised the participants’ efforts.
Megan, a spectator from San Francisco
Megan, who watched the parade, had heard of Falun Dafa before and said, “This band is great! They are conveying the message of peace and freedom.” When she learned that the principles of Falun Gong are Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, she said, “I like these principles and they are very important. I live in San Francisco and have seen Falun Gong practitioners. I also have friends who practice Falun Gong. I think they are very kind.”
Stan Burger and friends enjoy the Tian Guo Marching Band.
Stan Burger watched the parade with his friends. When the Tian Guo Marching Band passed by, they clapped delightedly. Stan said, “I like the band’s performance. I am very happy to see them come out to play such wonderful music. I fully support Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.” When offered a pamphlet, he said, “This is great. I am very happy to have this.”
Nick from San Jose was happy to see Falun Gong practitioners participate in the parade.
Nick, a spectator from San Jose, enjoyed the Falun Gong practitioners. He said, “I think this is a good practice that can make people strong. They look very organized and energetic.” He added that he likes Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.

Faro and his wife watch the parade.
Faro watched the parade with his wife. He was moved by the music played by Falun Gong practitioners, and said, “The weather is beautiful today. Their performance is amazing. We are very happy.”
He said that this was the first time he’d heard of Falun Gong. He expressed his admiration for the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and said, “I absolutely love the group’s principles. Can I join you?”
Tonia said the persecution in China should stop.
Tonia from Davis said, “I like this band. I like their costumes. They are spectacular, and peaceful.”
When she learned that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes Falun Gong and that Falun Gong practitioners do not have freedom of belief in China, she said, “This is so awful. The persecution should stop. Everyone should have the right to practice their faith freely.”
Vicki from Sacramento, the capital of California, said she appreciates the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. “Our society should follow these principles,” she affirmed. “This band performed wonderfully, and every member of the team performed well. It’s also great that the members of this group are of all ages.”
