Australia: People Admire Falun Dafa During Activities in Queensland to Commemorate the April 25 Appeal

(Minghui.org) Practitioners in Queensland held a candlelight vigil and practiced the Falun Dafa exercises at King George Square on the afternoon of April 19, 2024, to commemorate the April 25 Peaceful Appeal. Many people said they admired practitioners for their courage and moral compass in exposing the persecution in a rational and peaceful way and upholding justice.

King George Square is located next to the pedestrian street of Queen Mall and is surrounded by many tall buildings. It’s crowded with tourists and people from nearby offices. 

Practitioners demonstrated the exercises and told people about the persecution. Many people learned about the persecution in China and signed a petition to end it. Some said that justice would eventually triumph over evil. That evening they held a candlelight vigil to mourn fellow practitioners who died in the 25-year-long persecution.

People Hope This Persecution Ends Soon

Anthony Edward Hermiston said that Falun Dafa practitioners used their best way, a beautiful way to express their demands peacefully. 

Anthony Edward Hermiston said he was attracted by the peaceful and serene activity, and he wanted to know more about Falun Dafa. He said that he wanted to do something to stop the CCP’s (Chinese Communist Party) persecution of Falun Dafa. 

He was shocked to learn that the CCP harvests practitioners’ organs and that such an atrocity is happening in China. He asked why the democratic countries didn’t do something to stop it. He hopes that more people will become aware of it. 

He said that Falun Dafa practitioners used their best way, a beautiful way to peacefully express their demands. He wanted to do something to help end this persecution. 

PhD Student: Persecution of Falun Dafa Is a Human Rights Disaster

Semira is a PhD student at the Clinical Medical Research Center at Queensland University. She came to sign the petition when she noticed the practitioners’ activity. She said the persecution of Falun Dafa and its practitioners is a human rights disaster, that freedom of belief is a basic human right, and that the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa violates freedom of belief and basic human rights, and is unacceptable.

She appreciates the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance that Falun Dafa advocates. She said Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance were universal principles and the guiding principles for every ethnic group. She expressed her support for practitioners for their peaceful activities to expose the persecution and said she would tell people about Falun Dafa. 

The Persecution of Falun Dafa Is Evil 

Lucian said it’s important to expose evil so people can stand on the right side of history.

Lucian from the Gold Coast said Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are very important in this chaotic world and that everyone should follow them. He also said the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa is a violation of human rights and is evil. He believes communism and socialism are connected to dictatorship and corruption and that the CCP is a threat to the entire world. 

He said that it’s very important to expose the evil, spread the truth, and give people an opportunity to learn about the persecution so they can stand on the right side of history. 

Lucian said he admired practitioners for their peaceful counter-persecution activities in the past 25 years. He believes that justice will eventually triumph over evil. He wished practitioners good luck. 

New Zealander: The Energy of Falun Dafa Is Peaceful and Beautiful

Karaitiana Tawhiri hopes all persecutions around the world end. 

Karaitiana Tawhiri, a miner, is a New Zealander and now lives in Mackay. He stopped and watched as practitioners did the Falun Dafa exercises. He said practitioners were very calm and peaceful, and he could feel the peaceful and beautiful energy. He found the energy field was very good. 

When he learned that organs were harvested from living Falun Dafa practitioners, he was shocked and said he hopes that all persecution around the world would end soon. 

People Support Falun Gong Practitioners for Opposing the Persecution

Dorothy Wright signed the petition and admired practitioners for peacefully exposing the persecution. 

Dorothy Wright signed the petition when she learned why practitioners were holding the activity. She said practitioners were persecuted and not able to practice the exercises or hold candlelight vigils in China but they were able to do so here in Australia which was an open society. She said that Australians welcome Falun Dafa practitioners. 

Guatum is an environmental science student. He read the boards, talked to practitioners, and asked many questions. 

He expressed his sympathy for Falun Dafa practitioners who are persecuted in China. He signed the petition and said he hoped the CCP’s persecution of practitioners would end soon.
