(Minghui.org) A 76-year-old resident of Wuhan City, Hubei Province, was held in a brainwashing center in early 2024 for an unknown amount of time, for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.
Ms. Qian Shao, a retired employee of the China First Metallurgical Group Co. Ltd., was seized from home days after the Chinese New Year (February 10, 2024). Officers from the Yujiatou Police Station raided her home, and together with the local street committee took her to the Wuhan City Legal Education Center (a brainwashing center in disguise).
Ms. Qian was forced to watch anti-Falun Gong videos and ordered to write statements to renounce Falun Gong. It was unclear whether she complied against her will or when she was released.
This is not the first time that Ms. Qian has been targeted for her faith, which she credits with curing her anemia, migraines, stomachaches, and gynecological diseases, after she took it up in 1997.
Ms. Qian and eight other practitioners were arrested at a private home at around 4 p.m. on November 25, 2023, while they were studying Falun Gong books together. The Wuchang District Police Department and the Yujiatou Police Station were responsible for the group arrests. Ms. Qian was interrogated and released that night.
