(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Yongqin Admitted to Prison
2. [Ningxiang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Chuntao Formally Arrested
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Cuie Arrested
4. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] One Practitioner Detained, Two under Home Arrest
5. [Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Wu Qiuqin Detained
6. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Baoxia detained
7. [Chongqing] Mr. Yuan Zhiqiang Released After Serving 4.5 Years in Prison
8. [Tianjin] Ms. Duan Huiqin and Ms. Dao Yufen Arrested
1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Yongqin Admitted to Prison
Ms. Jiang Yongqin, in her 40s, from Changchun City was arrested out-of-town on an unknown date. She was secretly sentenced and has been admitted to the Jilin Province Women’s Prison.
2. [Ningxiang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Chuntao Formally Arrested
Ms. Liu Chuntao, 66, of Lijingpu Township was arrested by Lijingpu Police Station officers on November 4, 2024, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was held in the Changsha City Fourth Detention Center. Her arrest was approved by the Wangcheng District Procuratorate on November 19, 2024.
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Cuie Arrested
Ms. Li Cuie, in her 60s, of the Dongxihu District’s Baiquan Farm distributed Falun Gong flyers in Dongshan Farm on November 1, 2024. Someone reported her. Officers from Dongshan Police Station stalked her, arrested her at home, and ransacked her place.
4. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] One Practitioner Detained, Two under Home Arrest
Mr. Ma Yongheng, Ms. Yang Guifang, and Ms. Li Meiju were arrested on the morning of August 17, 2024. Mr. Ma was admitted to Kaifeng City Detention Center that afternoon. Ms. Yang and Ms. Li were given six months house arrest after they failed to pass the physical exam required for detention.
5. [Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Wu Qiuqin Detained
Ms. Wu Qiuqin headed out to go grocery shopping at 6 a.m. on October 17, 2024. As she reached the garage door, several plainclothes officers from Meiyuan Police Station and Meiliang Police Station blocked her path. Five more plainclothes officers rushed her from both sides, held her, and seized her purse. They got her key, ransacked her home, and confiscated Falun Gong books, a computer, a printer, and other items. She was admitted to Wuxi Women’s Second Detention Center.
She was released on November 22, 2024, but has been under surveillance ever since. Two people have been staked out in front of her home.
6. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Baoxia detained
Ms. Zhang Baoxia was arrested in late August 2023 and held for five days in the Xixiang County Detention Center. Over 10 of her Falun Gong books were confiscated.
7. [Chongqing] Mr. Yuan Zhiqiang Released After Serving 4.5 Years in Prison
Mr. Yuan Zhiqiang from the Beipei District was arrested on May 15, 2020, by Beipei District Domestic Security Division. He was tried in the Jiangbei District Court on November 18, 2020, and sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison with a 10,000-yuan fine in December 2020. He was severely tortured in Yongchuan Prison. He was released on November 10, 2024.
Since the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, he has been incarcerated for a total of 18 years for upholding his faith.
8. [Tianjin] Ms. Duan Huiqin and Ms. Dao Yufen Arrested
Ms. Duan Huiqin and Ms. Dou Yufen were arrested at home by Erhaoqiao Police Station officers on November 21, 2024. They were taken to the Hedong Police Department’s Dazhigu Case Process Team. They did not cooperate and were released the same day.
Officers seized an e-book and several articles written by other practitioners from Ms. Duan’s home.
