(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yang Jiangwei Tried
Mr. Yang Jiangwei was tried by the Lianshan District Court on the morning of December 26, 2024.
2. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Yanqiu Tried
Ms. Chen Yanqiu of Gaoxin District was tried by the Gaoxin District Court on the morning of December 27, 2024.
3. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Shumin Detained and Ms. Gao Xiuqing Arrested
Ms. Zhang Shumin and Ms. Gao Xiuqing, of Yangming District, were arrested by Yangming Police Department officers on December 17, 2024. Ms. Zhang was detained at the Mudanjiang Detention Center for seven days. Ms. Gao was released the same day after she failed the entry physical exam.
4. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yin Caiping Detained
Ms. Yin Caiping, who lives in Rongcheng City’s Ningjin Neighborhood, was arrested by the Rongcheng police on the morning of December 20, 2024, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Rongcheng Street Market. She is now detained at a facility in Weihai City, which oversees Rongcheng.
5. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Shen Mengting Detained
Ms. Shen Mengting, 34, was arrested on December 18, 2024, for distributing Falun Gong flyers. The police refused to disclose to her family where she is detained.
6. [Qujing City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Liang Yun Detained
Ms. Liang Yun was arrested at home by six officers from the Qujing City Domestic Security Division after 6 p.m. on December 10, 2024. They took from her home six Falun Gong books, two flash drives, and paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on them. Ms. Liang is being held in the Qujing City Detention Center.
7. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Shan Yuhua Arrested
Ms. Shan Yuhua was arrested by Yuhua Road Police Station officers on January 30, 2024, after someone reported her for distributing Falun Gong flyers. She was released that night.
Ms. Shan was arrested at home by deputy director Yan Kailong and three officers from the Yuhua Road Police Station on the morning of May 7, 2024. They ransacked her place and seized a desktop computer, two hard drives, a complete set of Falun Gong books, and other items. They handcuffed Ms. Shan and took her to the police station.
After Ms. Shan was denied admission to the detention center, as her systolic blood pressure was as high as 206 mmHg, the police took her back to the police station and locked her in a metal cage overnight. She was taken to the detention center again the next day and the detention center still refused to take her. Ms. Shan was released after 2 p.m.
8. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiang Jinjuan Arrested
Ms. Jiang Jinjuan was arrested by Chengguan Police Station officers on December 18, 2024, when she was distributing Falun Gong flyers.
9. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Xiao Shengtang, around 73, Ms. Zhang Fengyu, around 50, and Ms. Liu Wenzhen, around 70, were arrested at their respective homes on the morning of December 19, 2024, by the Macheng police. Their homes were ransacked. The police seized printers, desk calendars, and other items from Ms. Xiao’s home.
10. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Xinglan Arrested
Ms. Wu Xinglan, in her 70s, was arrested on December 12, 2024 by officers from the Xicheng Police Station, when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.
11. [Beijing] Ms. Shi Fuqin Arrested
Ms. Shi Fuqin was arrested on December 18, 2024.
12. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Chunxiu Arrested
Ms. Yang Chunxiu was arrested in November 2024 by Xingdong Police Station officers, when she was distributing Minghui desk calendars in Jiudaojie neighborhood. She was released in the evening.
In early December 2024, Ms. Yang was ordered to report to the Guangji Police Station. When she went there, an officer ordered her to sign a document. When she refused, they threatened to send her case to the procuratorate.
13. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Attorney Not Allowed to Visit Mr. Lu Gang in Prison
Mr. Lu Gang, 37, was admitted to the Fourth Branch of the Jidong Prison Administration Bureau (which has nine branches in total) on May 7, 2024, to serve a five-year term. The guards shocked him with electric batons, stomped on his feet and pepper sprayed him upon his arrival. They later shocked him with electric batons again when he refused to let them take his blood sample. The burns from the electric shocks are still visible now.
Mr. Lu was re-assigned to the Fifth Branch in May 27. He was forced to work without pay. The air in the workshop is full of fabric dust and yet he and the inmates weren’t given any personal protective equipment.
Mr. Lu’s family hired an attorney for him. The attorney went to the prison to visit Mr. Lu on December 19, 2024. The guards refused to let the attorney see Mr. Lu and said the meeting would only be granted after the attorney obtains a letter from his local police station to show that he doesn’t practice Falun Gong himself. The attorney pointed out that such a request is illegal. He went to the prison supervision office to file a complaint, only to find that office closed.
