(Minghui.org) A Huimin County, Shandong Province, resident, was admitted to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison in August 2024 to serve a one-year term she was given three years ago for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Wang Yuying’s ordeal stemmed from her arrest on June 3, 2020, when she and two other practitioners, Ms. Li Jing’e and Ms. Zhao Chengjuan, were putting up posters to raise awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong. Each of them was forced to pay a 10,000-yuan bond and then released on bail.

On May 28, 2021, the Huimin County Police Department and 610 Office reopened the three practitioners’ joint case and submitted it to the Huimin County Procuratorate.

The three women were sentenced by the Huimin County Court on December 13, 2021, with Ms. Wang and Ms. Li each being given one year and a 5,000-yuan fine, and Ms. Zhao given nine months and fined 3,000 yuan.

Due to Ms. Wang’s poor health (she was hospitalized around the time of her sentencing), the court didn’t immediately enforce her sentence. It’s not clear when Ms. Li and Ms. Zhao were taken into custody to serve time.

It’s also confirmed by Minghui.org that Ms. Li and another practitioner, Ms. Cui Airong, were arrested again on September 5, 2023, when they weny to visit Ms. Wang. While Ms. Li was later released, Ms. Cui was indicted by the Huimin County Procuratorate and sentenced to 14 months by the Huimin County Court around April 2024. Ms. Wang was taken back into custody four months later in August 2024 to serve time.
