(Minghui.org) Practitioners in Bulgaria commemorated Human Rights Day on December 10, 2024 with a series of events in several cities to tell people how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes Falun Dafa in the land of its origin.
Peaceful Appeal Outside the Chinese Embassy
Falun Dafa practitioners held a peaceful protest in front of the Chinese Embassy in Sofia, during which the Bulgarian Falun Dafa Association called on the CCP to end its 25-year-long persecution of the spiritual discipline.
Despite the frigid weather, practitioners held banners for three hours near the embassy and called for an end to the persecution and the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting that has led to the deaths of thousands of Falun Dafa practitioners.

Motorcade Informs the Public of the CCP’s Persecution
On December 14, practitioners held a motorcade in Plovdiv—Bulgaria’s second largest city—to raise awareness about the CCP’s persecution.
Plovdiv is the most recent Bulgarian city where this motorcade was held. Motorcades have previously been held in the cities of Stara Zagora, Sofia, Varna, and Burgas. With information about the persecution printed on placards on the roofs of each car, a sound system broadcast news of the CCP’s gross violations of human rights. The Chief Inspector of the Traffic Police Sector at the Plovdiv Police Department, who was responsible for the security escort for the motorcade, praised practitioners for their efficiency and orderliness.
This motorcade is part of a global initiative to inform more people about the CCP’s numerous human rights violations in persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. Practitioners in Europe, North America, and Australia have also held similar events.

Information Booth
On December 14 and 15, practitioners set up an information booth near a busy pedestrian area in the Kamenitsa neighborhood in Plovdiv. Passersby chatted with practitioners to learn about Falun Dafa and the persecution.

Two petitions were available for people to sign: one calling on the Bulgarian government to ensure Bulgarian citizens and organizations divest from the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa, and the other condemning the CCP’s human rights abuses.
Many people were interested and stopped to talk with the practitioners. Erdinch, from the town of Kardzhali, expressed his dismay at the CCP’s actions after learning about the persecution. “This is not right. These are tragic and horrifying things,” he said. Erdinch signed the petition and wished the practitioners success in their efforts to stop the persecution.
A young man from the U.K. also stopped at the booth. He said he that he “cannot remain indifferent” upon hearing of the CCP’s brutality against Dafa practitioners, including the forced organ harvesting, and he signed both petitions.
Practitioners also held a two-day event where they studied the teachings of Falun Dafa and meditated together. Afterwards, they discussed their experiences to help each other improve in cultivation.
