China Fahui | Saving Lives Is My Duty

I obtained the Fa before 1999 and am in my 80s. Before practicing Dafa, I was plagued with illness, but now I have a sharp mind and good eyesight; I am free from illness and feel very energetic and healthy.

Learning to Speak Mandarin

Our city is a small coastal county town with blue ocean, green trees, red tiles, and a winding coastline stretching for thousands of miles. There are many naturally-formed fantastic stone walls and national scenic spots. The beautiful scenery here is a gift from the Heaven.

Endless streams of tourists visit our city each year, and summer is the peak season. This is also a great opportunity for us to clarify the facts to people.

In order for people from various parts of the country to understand us, we have to talk in Mandarin. I practiced Mandarin at home and also read the Fa in Mandarin. The effect was quite good. When I met a mother and daughter from a nearby city, I clarified the facts to them. They listened attentively and withdrew from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its related organizations without hesitation. They asked me if I was a local. I said yes. They wondered what my profession was and why my Mandarin was so good.

Some tourists from the northeastern provinces often commented that they like the way I talked and it made them feel close to me. They easily accepted what I told them and agreed to withdraw from the CCP.

Memorize the Bus Routes

I memorized the bus routes to get to the major shopping malls, supermarkets, and tourist attractions in the city. When people ask me for directions, I can always give them the information they need. Sometimes, I even went to the place with them and talked to them about Dafa on the way. They were usually very receptive and naturally agreed to quit the CCP and its related organizations when I urged them to.

The other day, I was waiting at a bus stop when a young man in his early 30s came. I talked to him and learned that he came from another city in the same province. He asked me how to get to the beach. I explained it in detail. He was delighted to know the information. I then talked about the persecution and persuaded him to quit the CCP and its organizations. He told me that he was a member of the CCP and he agreed to quit it. There are many cases like this.

Talking to People at Family Gatherings

When friends or family invite me to a wedding banquet, I always go happily, as these are great opportunities for truth-clarification. I usually help at least ten people quit the CCP at every banquet.

It is gratifying that at my grandniece’s wedding last year, my village’s Party secretary agreed to quit the CCP. I had talked to him several times in the past, but he always refused. I was so happy that he finally changed his mind.

Be More Knowledgeable

In ancient wartime, before the troops moved, the food supplies must go first. No matter what one does, one must be fully prepared beforehand for a higher chance of success. Isn't it the same when we clarify the truth to save people? We are also fighting a battle of good against evil.

I require myself to memorize the essential facts of Falun Dafa and the persecution. Reading the Minghui website and listening to Minghui podcasts are very helpful. When we equip ourselves with an extensive amount of information, we can better respond to people’s questions when clarifying the truth and untie the knots in their hearts.

We also must be accurate about the dates and facts of significant events. This will increase our credibility and prevent people from taking advantage of our mistakes to attack us.

For example, we all know about the stone with the words “Chinese Communist Party Being Eliminated.” If we can tell people that the stone was discovered in June 2002 in Zhangbu Township, Pingtang County, Guizhou Province and it’s estimated to have been formed 270 million years ago, people might be more interested.

When we talk about the lack of legal basis for the persecution, we can mention that Liu Binjie, the director of the General Administration of Press and Publication, issued Announcement 50 on March 1, 2011, lifting the ban on Falun Gong publications. With the announcement number and date, people can easily verify it online themselves.

Talking to People from All Walks of Life

The process of clarifying the truth is like a journey. We will encounter all kinds of people: some will be grateful, some will praise us, some will be dismissive, and some will say sarcastic things.

One day, I came across an old colleague. She said to me, “Isn’t it good to stay at home and enjoy your retirement? Why come out every day to do this? Why don’t your children stop you?”

In many people’s view, people at my age should stay at home and enjoy life, but how can they understand that we as Dafa disciples have a mission to accomplish?

Master told us:

“Clarifying the facts and saving sentient beings are what you need to accomplish. There is nothing else for you to accomplish. There is nothing else in this world that you need to accomplish.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2015 New York Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XIII)

I used to be introverted, awkward, clumsy, and inarticulate. Without Master’s protection and blessings, I could not have done anything. Master gives me so much. I will remain humble and diligent in cultivation.

Printing Informational Materials

In addition to talking to people face to face, I have also been printing Dafa materials at home for more than ten years and everything has been operating smoothly.

I paid for all the equipment and supplies myself. I believe that everything I have is a blessing from the Fa and it is my duty and honor to contribute whatever I can.

All the materials I printed were downloaded from the Minghui website. Sometimes, I distributed them face-to-face, but most of the time, I distributed them door-to-door at night. With Master’s protection, I didn’t encounter any danger while distributing the materials.

I also learned how to print messages on paper currency. Due to the strict censorship in China, such methods provide a unique channel for us to spread information. I used bills of small denominations and I would spend them in different stores, so that the cashier wouldn’t feel pressured to accept it. My family and friends also help by using the bills when they go shopping.

Printing on paper currency isn’t an easy process. I have to check the bills one by one, pick out the damaged ones, wash and dry the bills, and then iron them before I could start printing. That’s not the worst of it, though. The most heart-wrenching step is when a bill gets stuck in the printer, which can be a real problem. It’s not about the money, but the time associated with fixing the printer.

Once a bill got stuck in the printer and I couldn’t get it out after several hours. With no other options, I sought help from a fellow practitioner. He said that he couldn’t do anything to help me and it was time for me to improve my xinxing. I looked within and discovered my impatience and attachment to doing things. To calm myself down, I began memorizing Fa. Next thing I knew, when I pushed the button, the bill came out! Thank you, Master!

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Minghui provided templates with new content about quitting the CCP to stay safe. I printed them out and used them promptly, and the effect was excellent. Some praised us for our effectiveness and talent.

Taking Profit Lightly

I was born in the 1940's into a poor peasant family. My parents could not read or write. With many siblings, I had to help my parents with the housework and look after my younger brothers and sisters. I didn’t start primary school until I was eleven. I only had one pair of decent shoes back then, and my home was about three miles from the school. In the spring, summer or autumn, I would walk barefoot to school and put my shoes on when I reached the school gate. After school, as soon as I left the school, I would take off my shoes and walk home barefoot. Day after day, year after year, thick calluses formed on my feet.

Because of my childhood experience, even after my financial condition improved, I was still very meticulous about money and lived a frugal life.

After I started to practice Falun Dafa, my worldview changed fundamentally. I understand the true meaning of life and no longer put so much weight on fame or money. I no longer haggle over every penny when buying things or care so much about the losses I encountered.

My children all have decent jobs with high social status. With rampant bribery and embezzlement in China, I often remind them to uphold their principles and avoid any gray income, as there is a saying, “A noble man will not drink water from a spring belonging to the bandits, and a man with integrity will not eat food handed out in contempt.”

I am so fortunate to practice Falun Dafa! I will try my best to live up to Dafa's standard. This is my understanding at my current level. Please kindly point out anything not in line with the Fa.
