(Minghui.org) After passing H.R. 1154, the “Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act of 2023,” the United States House of Representatives unanimously passed H.R. 4132 (“Falun Gong Protection Act”) on June 25, 2024. This legislation urges the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to immediately end the crime of forced organ harvesting and sanction those who participate in it.
Consistent with this legislation, an increasing number people now see just how brutal and dishonest the CCP is.
Mankind’s Conscience
Yang Sen-hong, renowned columnist and president of the Taiwan Association for China Human Rights, said it’s important to differentiate between “kind Chinese people” and “the vicious CCP.” He said, “This is because many Chinese—especially Falun Gong practitioners—cherish virtue and traditional values. The fact that Falun Gong has been suppressed by the CCP for over 20 years illustrates both sides of this matter.”

This human rights tragedy began when former CCP leader Jiang Zemin ordered the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999 out of jealousy over the spiritual discipline’s popularity. The state machinery was fully mobilized to target Falun Gong practitioners, evidence that the CCP is focused on harming people instead of managing the country. Anyone who sided with the CCP on this issue became an accomplice of the regime.
This persecution of a group of cultivators is rooted in the CCP’s core values of hatred and brutality—it targets traditional values and views Falun Gong as an enemy, making its practitioners the primary victims of forced organ harvesting. “By persecuting Falun Gong, the CCP has sped up its own destruction,” Yang said. “This is because Falun Gong, along with the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, represents the conscience of us Chinese and represents hope.”
Because of Jiang’s ruthless, systematic persecution of Falun Gong, the harvesting of organs from large numbers of practitioners became a huge, monstrous industry. To meet the increasing demand for organs, its victims now include Uyghurs and other minority groups.
This is why the Falun Gong Protection Act shows that the world is aware of this issue: The CCP’s viciousness is not limited to China; it will spread and endanger the world. Yang said he is happy to see U.S. is taking the lead in emphasizing religious freedom and protecting Falun Gong.
“Good will eventually defeat evil, and Falun Gong can become the backbone of China, bringing peace and prosperity to the world,” Yang said. “Modern China is in urgent need of faith, while Falun Gong is consistent with traditional Chinese culture. Experience has shown that the faith group of Falun Gong can lead people toward kindness.”
More Legislation in Taiwan
In response to the U.S. Falun Gong Protection Act, Hsu Chih-chieh, a member of the Taiwan Legislative Yuan, is working on similar legislation in Taiwan. “I’ve known many Falun Gong practitioners who follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. The CCP has chosen to suppress Falun Gong to consolidate its brutal and evil leadership,” he said.

Hsu said he knows how Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted and, in some cases, became victims of forced organ harvesting. He heard that some senior CCP officials were organ transplant recipients and said it’s shameful that innocent people are killed for this purpose.
By targeting Falun Gong and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the CCP is doomed because the righteous will prevail, Hsu said. He supports Falun Gong and opposes forced organ harvesting and the CCP’s other brutalities. He hopes more countries adopt legislation similar to the Falun Gong Protection Act.
Protecting Falun Gong Protects Everyone

Hsu Kai-Hsiung, professor and president of Global Mission to Rescue Persecuted Falun Dafa Practitioners, said the Falun Gong Protection Act is important because it reveals the CCP’s viciousness.
When they persecute practitioners, CCP officials order them to sign documents renouncing the practice and to make speeches defaming Falun Gong. When practitioners refuse to comply, they are detained. The CCP aims to destroy people’s faith in kindness, and that is something many people are not aware of, Hsu added.
According to Hsu, at its core, the CCP is against traditional values. Because of this, it targets Falun Gong and will likely harm free society. That’s why we need to be clear-headed instead of being misled by material interests. By protecting Falun Gong, everyone is protected.
