Additional Persecution News from China – March 21, 2023 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 32 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Lei Put on Trial

Ms. Wang from the Dongcheng District was arrested at home by Beixinqiao Police Station officers on October 9, 2022. She was taken to the Dongcheng Detention Center. Ms. Wang was tried in the Dongcheng District Court on the morning of March 16, 2023.

2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ge Lijun and Ms. Shao Xiuling Face Trial

Seven practitioners including Ms. Ge Lijun and Ms. Shao Xiuling were arrested in the Pingfang District on April 13, 2022. Because both women were carrying paper bills with information about Falun Gong printed on them (Ms. Ge had 1000 yuan and Ms. Shao, 100 yuan), they were arrested but later released. They will be tried in the Daoli District Court on March 21, 2023. They were told that they would be sentenced to prison, Ms. Ge to two years and Ms. Shao to six months.

3. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Qu Yuexian and Ms. Liu Rongxian Face Second Hearing

Ms. Qu Yuexian, 85, and Ms. Liu Rongxian, 75, will be tried in the Xishan District Court for the second time on March 23, 2023.

4. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] The Case Against Six Practitioners Submitted to the Procuratorate

Six practitioner—Ms. Li Mingxia, Ms. Zheng Zhimei, Mr. Luo Wenxin, Ms. Li Yeshu, Ms. Li Hongmei, and Ms. Xu Huancui—were detained in the Zhucheng Brainwashing Center for about two months in 2022. They were released on bail pending trial on April 19, 2022.

They received calls from the Zhucheng City Procuratorate on March 20, 2023, summoning them to the procuratorate.

5. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Six Practitioners Placed Under Official Arrest

Mr. Zheng Yuming, Ms. Su Guizhi, Ms. Xie Yunxiang, and Ms. Wang Guiying, were placed under official arrest from February to March 2023.

6. [Shanghai] Hu Ping Arrested and Detained

Hu Ping from Station New Village in Fengcheng Town in the Fengxian District was arrested during the CCP’s “Two Sessions” for distributing information about Falun Gong. Hu is being held in the Fengxian District Detention Center.

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Fenghui Arrested

Ms. Zhao Fenghui was arrested by Weixing Road Police Station officers in early June 2022. She was taken to the No.4 Detention Center.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Pan Qin Arrested

Ms. Pan Qin, 89, from the Shijinshan District was arrested in the Shijingshan District on March 1, 2023. On the way to the police department, Ms. Pan didn’t feel well. She had high blood pressure and was released. But she was placed under 24-hour surveillance from March 2 to 14, 2023.

9. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Persecuted

The case against Mr. Yang Junqi and Mr. Meng Fanyi was submitted to the procuratorate. They were fined 5000 yuan and allowed to go home but their families had to guarantee to oversee them.

Ms. Niu Yuxia was arrested by officers from the Nancheng Police Station. She is currently hospitalized.

Two officers from the Ping’an Police Station harassed Mr. Xu Wenguo and Zhang Laosan from Qili Township. Zhang’s MP3 player was confiscated.

10. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Fuqin and Ms. Wang Xiuhong Harassed

Ms. Yang Fuqin was harassed at home by two plainclothes officers from the Huancheng Township Police Station in early March 2023. She was photographed and a sample of her saliva was collected.

Ms. Wang Xiuhong was also harassed at home. She was photographed and had a sample of her saliva taken. A Falun Gong book was confiscated.

11. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Han Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Han Xiuying from the Shengcheng Sub-district was arrested recently when she talked to people about Falun Gong. She was released later that day.

12. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Fuzhen and Mr. Zhang Shourong Harassed

Ms. Yang Fuzhen from Xinli Town was harassed twice by officers Li Changbo and Xu Yingge from the Xinli Town Police Station from the end of February to early March 2023 during the CCP’s “Two Sessions.” The first time, Ms. Yang was photographed and a sample of her saliva was collected. The second time, the two officers plus Dong, head of the police station, went to her home. They asked whether she still practiced Falun Gong and demanded she slander Falun Gong’s founder. She refused to.

13. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Wei Guirong Placed under Residential Surveillance

Ms. Wei Guirong was reported to the police for sending phone messages. Her home was ransacked by officers from the Guancheng District Police Department and the Chengdong Road Police Station on March 2, 2023. She was released on bail pending trial later that day. She was placed under residential surveillance. A surveillance camera was installed to monitor her home and someone downstairs was designated to watch her.
