My Son and Other People Appreciate Dafa More After Experiencing the Pandemic

(Minghui.org) My son learned about Falun Dafa when he was young. He encouraged me to practice and sometimes read Dafa books with me. He said the poems in Hong Yin were well written. Because he believes Falun Dafa is good, Master Li (the founder of Falun Dafa) has protected and blessed him. His did well in school and graduated from a major university with a Master’s degree. He got a job in a big company in a large city. His company managed to get him permanent resident status. 

A colleague who graduated from Qinghua University asked my son how much of an introduction fee (bribe) he paid to get his job. His colleague said that it cost him tens of thousands yuan to enter the company. He didn’t believe that my son did not spend a penny to get in. We know my son is blessed because he believes in Falun Dafa and often recites the two phrases “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”

After I began practicing Falun Dafa, I recovered from many diseases. My son used to have insomnia. After he practiced the Falun Dafa exercises his insomnia was gone. He recovered from rhinitis and chronic pharyngitis. During school breaks he helped me with truth-clarification projects. He often reminded me to send forth righteous thoughts. He said that he would truly practice Falun Dafa one day. He believes in the principle “Good is rewarded and evil punished” and requires himself to be a good person according to Dafa’s principles. 

The Pandemic Begins

Due to the pandemic lockdown, my son was unable to visit me. One night I dreamed my son was playing near a well and that he was in danger. When the lockdown eased, my son invited me to his city and rented an apartment for me. Even though I lived alone, I saw him frequently. He repeatedly told me that I shouldn’t talk to people [about Dafa] as I did in our hometown, but he encouraged me to continue practicing Falun Dafa. 

In early December last year some of my daughter-in-law’s coworkers contracted COVID. She was required to work from home. One week later the residential area where her mother lived was locked down. The next day my son learned that a building in his residential area was locked down. It seemed the people around us were getting infected. He told me to be careful and not go out. 

I gradually realized that he didn’t believe in Falun Dafa as he used to when he was a child, due to the influence of atheism and modern notions. Because I was repeatedly persecuted, he felt the pressure of the persecution and had fear. He kept asking me when the persecution would end. I thought he understood the truth about Dafa because he often read Dafa truth-clarification materials. 

When he came to see me, I suggested that he read truth-clarification articles. I also read Master’s recent articles with him. Together we read Master’s article, “Stay Rational.” 

Master taught us,

“Pandemics and plagues1 are part of a divine plan and inevitable in the course of history. When people become immoral they generate karma, become sick, and experience disastrous things.” (“Stay Rational”)

I wanted my son to read the article so that he would understand that the plague was targeting certain people, and that good people shouldn’t be afraid. He gradually understood. He said that he had a dream and knew that Master was letting him know that mankind was in danger. 

When he had time, he’d say, “Let’s study the Fa.” We read Zhuan Falun or some poems from Hong Yin VI. He remembered to have consideration for other people.

I went out to clarify the truth as usual. While I was in line for the COVID test, I clarified the truth to people. I also spent money printed with truth-clarification messages when I went shopping. 

The lockdown controls in China were severe, so few people were on the streets. But people still delivered food and there were couriers. I clarified the truth to them. Sometimes I took a walk in my residential area after dinner. I clarified the truth to whoever I met. I asked them to recite the two phrases and told them they would be blessed. Most people listened to me and agreed to withdraw their memberships from the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) and its affiliated organizations. 

One day I had a runny nose, which caused interference when I was reading the Fa. So, I listened to the recordings of Master’s lectures. I went out to clarify the truth that afternoon as usual. It was snowing and there were few people on the streets. I saw a man standing for a long time. There were several bags next to him. He was still there when I came back. I asked Master to give me wisdom. I went over to him and said, “You’ve been here for a long time. It’s so cold. Are you waiting for someone? Can I help you in any way?”

He told me that he came here to work but couldn’t enter the work site because his COVID test result wasn’t available yet. He said that he came to the city to work because his family’s field didn’t produce enough for them to live on. He looked sad and helpless. 

I told him the facts about Falun Dafa and how the CCP framed Falun Dafa. He listened and occasionally nodded his head in agreement. I suggested he withdraw from the Young Pioneers (a CCP organization) to be safe. He said that he joined the CCP when he was in the military. I urged him to withdraw from the CCP so that he would be protected by divine beings. He agreed and quit the CCP with his real name. He thanked me and said that I was a good person. 

I told him to let his family members know why they should quit the CCP and how to do it. He agreed. I felt happy for him and thanked Master for His compassion. I knew Master was encouraging me and that as long as I stepped out, Master would arrange predestined people for me to save. 

Thanks to Master’s protection, I didn’t have a fever. I ate and did household chores as usual. My symptoms looked like a cold but I got over it quickly. 

My brother and his wife remained healthy even though their daughter’s family members all had high fevers and other COVID symptoms. My two good friends who learned the truth were both healthy and celebrated Chinese New Year. My colleague who was close to me phoned me and said, “I’ve watched the programs on the USB drive you gave me. We are all virus-free.” She said that people around her who got COVID had trouble hearing, or had eye infections or heart problems. People who knew the truth all stayed safe. Even if they contracted COVID, they got over it quickly.

My son and his wife came to see me on Chinese New Year’s Eve. He and I read poems from Hong Yin XI after dinner. He set up the computer and got it ready so we could watch Shen Yun. To our surprise, Master’s new article “How Humankind Came to Be” was published. The TV host read the article and then we watched Shen Yun. 

We are so thankful to Master for His compassion for sentient beings. We are so happy and fortunate to be Master’s disciples. At this crucial moment of the cosmos’s renewal, as long as people stay kind and follow mankind’s traditional values, they will be protected by this universal Dafa. Divine beings will lead them and they will have a bright future.
