Additional Persecution News from China – February 17, 2023 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Fusong County, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Changfu Sentenced to Two Years and Six Months in Prison
2. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yu Xuezhen and Ms. Han Shuang Arrested
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested 
4. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Bin Arrested
5. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Wenyan Arrested
6. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Qin Jingxiang’s Home Ransacked
7. [Jiayu County, Hubei Province] Five Practitioners Harassed

1. [Fusong County, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Changfu Sentenced to Two Years and Six Months in Prison

Mr. Liu Changfu lives in Beishan Village, Wanliang Town, Fusong County, Baishan City. He was sentenced to two years and six months in prison and was held in the Fusong County Detention Center. He was transferred to the Gongzhuling Prison on February 14, 2023.

2. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yu Xuezhen and Ms. Han Shuang Arrested

Ms. Yu Xuezhen and Ms. Han Shuang were arrested at Ms. Yu Xuezhen’s home on February 15, 2023. The police ransacked Ms. Yu’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, the photo of Falun Gong’s founder and all her cash.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested 

Four practitioners including Mr. Luan Dewu and Ms. Wang Li, went back to their hometown to support fellow practitioners. They were reported to police and were arrested by officers from the Shuanglong Police Station in Gongzhuling City on February 6, 2023. Mr. Luan Dewu was placed under 13-day detention.

4. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Bin Arrested

Mr. Wang Bin from Gengle Town of She County was arrested at the Xuzhou Railway Station in Jiangsu Province when he was on the way back to Indonesia on February 5, 2023. His mother’s home was ransacked. Mr. Wang is now released.

5. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Wenyan Arrested

Ms. Zhang Wenyan was arrested on February 11, 2023 for distributing information about Falun Gong. She was released, but her cell phone was confiscated.

6. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Qin Jingxiang’s Home Ransacked

Several officers from the Quzhou County Police Department went to Ms. Qin Jingxiang’s home on the afternoon of February 12, 2023. They ransacked it and confiscated a laptop, a printer and about 1000 yuan in cash.

7. [Jiayu County, Hubei Province] Five Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Jiang Qiuying was harassed at home by people from the Yuyue Town Police Station and the Nanjie Community on February 7, 2023. They planned to install a surveillance camera in front to Ms. Jiang’s home.

Those people went to harass three more practitioners the next day including Wu, Ms. Xiang Lanjiao and Peng. 

Three officers from the Yuyue Town Police Station and one staff member from the local community went to Ms. Wang Guangyuan’s home around 11 a.m. on February 14, 2023. They warned Ms. Wang not to contact other practitioners.
