(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Dongfeng County, Jilin Province] Wang Ling Arrested
2. [Shanghai] Four Practitioners to Be Released from Jail
3. [Junan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Yunxue Persecuted
4. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Fangqing Arrested
5. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Peng Jie Harassed
6. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
1. [Dongfeng County, Jilin Province] Wang Ling Arrested
Wang Ling (gender unknown), around 40, was arrested in summer 2022. The police confiscated his/her truth-clarifying materials, printer papers and other equipment to make the materials. There has been no news about Wang Ling since the arrest.
2. [Shanghai] Four Practitioners to Be Released from Jail
Mr. Tian Hui who was sentenced to three years in prison, will be released on February 4, 2023.
Ms. Yang Manye who was sentenced to two years in prison, will be released on February 24, 2023.
Mr. Zhang Qin, 67, was sentenced to five years in prison. He will be released on April 23, 2024.
Ms. Yao Guizhen, who was sentenced to four years and three months in prison, will be released on July 24, 2023.
3. [Junan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Yunxue Persecuted
Ms. Sun Yunxue, a retired teacher, was harassed at home by officers from the Junan County Police Department’s Domestic Security Division and the Economic Development Zone Police Station on August 5, 2022. The police searched her home.
Ms. Sun was informed in mid-August 2022 that she was placed under 7-day detention that would be executed outside the jail.
4. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Fangqing Arrested
Ms. Huang Fangqing was arrested at home by officers from the Yujin Police Station in Qianwei County at 9 p.m. on December 20, 2022. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. Ms. Huang was taken to the police station and was released at 5 p.m. the next day.
5. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Peng Jie Harassed
Ms. Peng Jie was harassed at her home by officers from the Yuhu District Police Department’s Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of December 30, 2022. They pressured her to sign some legal documents, which she refused to sign. The officers videotaped and photographed Ms. Peng before they left.
6. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Li Fengying and Ms. Zheng were arrested when they talked to people about Falun Gong on October 10, 2022. Ms. Li Fengying managed to escape. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, laptop computer, desktop calendars, money imprinted with Falun Gong information, and other items.
After Ms. Li escaped, she immediately went to ask Ms. Wang Shihua for help because her adoptive mother was bedridden and unable to take care of herself. When Ms. Li and Ms. Wang went to Ms. Li’s home, the officers who were monitoring the place arrested them.
Ms. Yang Mingzhen from Weifang City was also arrested shortly afterwards. Ms. Yang temporarily stayed in Rizhao City to avoid further persecution.
Four practitioners, Ms. Li Fengying, Ms. Zheng, Ms. Wang Shihua, and Ms. Yang Mingzhen, were detained in the Rizhao Detention Center. They have been placed under official arrest.
