The Power of Righteous Thoughts

(Minghui.org) The former dictator Jiang Zemin launched the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa on July 20, 1999. It has been ongoing for 23 years. This has been an extraordinary time for practitioners to cultivate in the Fa-rectification period. Dafa practitioners have been resisting the persecution in these difficult and unforgettable years, and many have gone through severe tests of life and death. With our great Master’s guidance and compassion, as well as our righteous thoughts, Dafa practitioners practice the universal principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and have been gradually maturing on the road of returning to our origins. I have personally had many experiences with the power of righteous thoughts.

The day after the persecution began, on July 21, 1999, dozens of Dafa practitioners from my town took the train to Beijing to ask the Chinese government not to interfere with their practicing Dafa. The train arrived in Beijing at 11:30 p.m. When we walked out of the gate, we were shocked to see that the square was full of police, who were arresting practitioners. Seeing that situation, I had a strong thought in my heart: I must get out. Just given this thought, three other practitioners and I were not arrested. The next day, we returned home safely.

At that time, I didn’t know what sending forth righteous thoughts represented, but perhaps that thought I had was a righteous thought.

Arrested for My Belief in Falun Dafa

I was arrested in 2005 by the local Domestic Security police. Two police officers interrogated me, but I did not give them the information they wanted. One of them was known for brutally beating Dafa practitioners. He ran towards me and was going to beat me. I was not afraid. I took a step forward and warned him by saying “Are you going to hit me? Go ahead. If you kill me, that’s it. If I’m still alive, I will sue you until the end, even if that means I have to go to the United Nations!” He was suddenly like a deflated ball, and muttered, “I wasn’t going to hit you.” He then returned to his seat.

Almost all the local Dafa practitioners who have been arrested were beaten by him. But given my righteous thoughts, he did not dare to touch me.

During the time when I was illegally detained in a labor camp, we were luckily able to receive Master’s new lectures. They were sent into the prison by fellow practitioners. When the new lectures reached me, I hand-copied them and passed them on to other practitioners.

I once had a copy of a new lecture in my pocket. Before I could pass it on, the chief guard of the labor camp ordered a body search. On our way back to the cells from the dining hall, everyone was body searched at the gate, one by one. It was summer, and I was wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt. It was difficult to hide anything. I asked Master for help in my mind, “Master, please help me so that they can’t see the copy in my pocket.”

When I arrived at the gate, there were no guards anywhere. There was only a person who had gone awry in her understanding of the Fa. She only touched my shoulder bag and didn’t notice the copy. I was very happy and thanked Master in my heart. This was the power of righteous thoughts, and Master’s mighty virtue.

Local Large-Scale Arrests

Dozens of fellow practitioners in our county were arrested in 2010, and their homes were ransacked during a large-scale persecution effort by the local police. The head of the county’s Domestic Security and head of the town police station came to my home with a large group of police officers. They started to ransack my home as soon as they arrived. I immediately sent forth strong righteous thoughts, “Master, please protect me, so they won’t find anything.”

An officer shone a flashlight under the bed and saw several CD cases that I threw there earlier and forgot about them. He shouted, “There are CD cases here!” I said to him with full righteous thoughts, “Those are jewel boxes!” He immediately stopped yelling.

The police searched all the rooms but found nothing. Given Master’s protection, nothing happened to my computer, printer, and Dafa materials. I was taken to the police station and held overnight, where I saw other practitioners. I kept sending forth righteous thoughts to completely dismantle the persecution of Dafa practitioners by the evil factors. I also reminded fellow practitioners to send forth righteous thoughts. At the same time, I recited two of Master’s poems from memory:

“Mighty Virtue
Dafa does not leave the body,The heart harbors Zhen-Shan-Ren;In the world is a great Arhat,Spirits and ghosts fear greatly.”(Hong Yin)

Righteous thought, righteous actionAdvance wholeheartedly, do not stopPurge the ghosts that disrupt FaTreat all beings with kindness”(Hong Yin II)

Given our strong righteous thoughts, the police did not find anything they could use to persecute us, and three of us returned home safely three hours later.

Distributing Fliers at Night

A fellow practitioner and I went to a nearby village one evening in the spring of 2014, and took with us about a 100 fliers to distribute. We met two men when we were distributing the fliers, but they didn’t say much. We continued to distribute our fliers. Unexpectedly, they followed and reported us. We headed back after we were done, but as soon as we left the village, we saw searchlights from police vehicles. One blocked the north-south road, and one blocked the east-west road.

We turned onto the country road, climbed up a hill, and looked down. We saw the police car on the east-west road heading toward our village. The fellow practitioner and I sat down and sent forth righteous thoughts: “Master, please help us disintegrate the evil factors that are attempting to persecute us, and let the police who are manipulated by the evil become confused.”

We got down the hill and walked back toward our village. We saw that the first police vehicle was already inside our village, and the second one was following. We continued to send forth righteous thoughts: “Let the police be confused about their directions and the searchlights on the police cars go off, so they cannot see anything.”

When we got to the village, the searchlights on the police cars had indeed gone out. We arrived home safely at 10:30 p.m.

When I got up to send forth righteous thoughts at midnight, I saw that the two police cars were still out there trying to intercept us on our way home. Their bright searchlights were moving around in the fields. I was very tired from the trip and fell asleep quickly after sending forth righteous thoughts. When I woke up again around 1:30 a.m., I saw that the searchlights of the two police vehicles were still moving around near my home. They were really going full throttle in their attempt to arrest us.

The Communist Party’s “Knocking on Doors” Campaign

In 2017, the police began to harass Falun Dafa practitioners by going to their homes and “knocking on doors.” Two police officers came to my home several times, but I was able to avoid them. Then one day they came just after breakfast, and I didn’t have time to leave, so I had to face them. I immediately had the righteous thought to clarify the truth to them. I told them about my experience after practicing Dafa.

One of them listened very carefully. In the end, he said, “If Falun Dafa is so good, you can just practice it at home, and we won’t bother you.” His attitude was very good.

The other officer’s attitude wasn’t as good, and he asked me about distributing Dafa materials. I did not answer his questions, and he stopped talking about it after just a moment. When they were leaving, the officer with the good attitude asked me with great concern if there was any difficulty in my daily life or if I needed their help.

Through this incident, I truly realized the meaning of what Master told us:

The Zero-Out Campaign

Last year, the police station carried out the CCP’s so-called “zero-out” campaign. The village CCP secretary and two police officers came to my home. I had strong righteous thoughts and clarified the truth to them. One of the officers was a lead officer. They didn’t end up making things difficult for me. When they were leaving, I walked them outside to the gate. After they got in the car, I said to them, “Please don’t come again. If you come, it will have an impact on society. People will think you are coming again to arrest people.”

By coincidence, I later saw the lead officer. He politely said to me, “We don’t mind if you practice Falun Dafa.”

It has been more than a year, and they have not come back to my home.

These are my personal experiences, where I experienced the power of Dafa practitioners’ righteous thoughts.
