(Minghui.org) Five police officers recently ransacked the home of an 81-year-old Shulan City, Jilin Province resident and interrogated her for her faith in Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, or Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The police barged into the home of Ms. Chen Yunfang at 7 a.m. on July 26, 2022 after her daughter-in-law opened the door. One of them waved his phone and claimed he was from Shulan Police Station before grabbing the picture of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books. The police also took some of Ms. Chen’s personal belongings.
Ms. Chen immediately stood up and snatched back the picture. She hugged it tightly, while the police tried to get it back. The police gave up after more than two hours.
While at Ms. Chen’s home, the police interrogated her and asked where she got her books and materials. She refused to answer. When the police asked why can’t she learn other religions, Ms. Chen replied that she used to practice Buddhism but her illnesses were not cured until she started practicing Falun Gong.
The police ordered Ms. Chen to sign the interview record, but she refused. She asked to know the police’s names, but they didn’t answer.
By 11 a.m., most of the officers left, with one from Xin’an Police Station staying to monitor Ms. Chen. The officer placed three cameras in her home. Later, another officer came to fill out a bail release form for her. Her daughter-in-law was terrified by the police and was forced to sign the form. The police finally left at 7 p.m.
It was reported that this group of police officers also harassed three other practitioners, including Mr. Guo Yingchun, Ms. Lu Guiping and Ms. Chu Wenbo, on the same day and ransacked one of their homes.
