(Minghui.org) Numerous articles have been published on the Minghui website on how to help Falun Dafa practitioners overcome tribulations of sickness karma. Many of us have taken the initiative to send forth righteous thoughts for practitioners facing sickness karma, and shared with them on how to look inward so they could quickly make a breakthrough in their tribulations, hoping to elevate as one body based on righteous enlightenment to the Fa.

During the past couple of years, Dafa practitioners have appeared to have illusions of sickness karma on a large scale. Some practitioners even lost their lives amid their tribulations, which has caused a great loss to helping Master Li (the founder of Falun Dafa) save sentient beings.

Here are some cases of how I helped practitioners make breakthroughs when facing tribulations of sickness karma.

Recovering Within Three Days after Being Bedridden for Over Six Months

I went to a market to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa in the early summer of 2004, and ran into Ms. Liu from my hometown. We hadn’t seen each other for a few years, so I asked her how the practitioners from our village were doing, and if they still practice Falun Dafa. She told me that since the persecution started on July 20, 1999, out of the dozens of practitioners in the area, hardly anyone still practices. Some relocated to other cities, some passed away. “Only Ms. Ming (alias) and I still do, but she only cultivates on and off.”

She told me that Ms. Ming had been bedridden for over six months, and her husband was taking care of her. Ms. Liu goes to study the Fa with her from time to time. I was so worried for Ms. Ming and decided to invite her to my home, so I could help her make a breakthrough in her tribulation.

I went to her home the next day. I talked to her husband, and he agreed for her to come to my home. His son-in-law took us in his car, carried Ms. Ming upstairs, and put her in bed.

My home is a Fa-study site for more than 20 practitioners. Ms. Ming studied the Fa, shared her understanding on the Fa, and sent forth righteous thoughts with a few practitioners. After we finished, I had to work the night shift, so I asked Ms. Li to stay and keep Ms. Ming company.

Ms. Ming wanted to use the washroom and asked Ms. Li to take her there by giving her a piggyback. I said to Ms. Li, “You can’t do that. Let her figure out how to get there on her own.”

Ms. Ming said that she couldn’t walk, so I responded, “Who can’t? Are you still a practitioner?” She said she was, so I continued, “If you are, then why can’t you walk? Who’s preventing you from walking? You just go ahead and walk. Aren’t you in charge of your body? You just walk. Master will help you.”

She got out of bed and moved little by little to the washroom, about ten feet away, supporting herself on the couch and wall. She returned over 30 minutes later. Before I left for work, I stressed to Ms. Li repeatedly, “When she uses the washroom, regardless of how much time she spends getting there, don’t treat her like an ill person. Only send righteous thoughts to empower her, so we can truly negate the old forces’ persecution.”

When I came home from work the next morning it was time to eat. Ms. Ming told me that she couldn’t use chopsticks, only a spoon. I replied, “I don’t have any spoons, only chopsticks.”

“Okay! I can’t eat the rice, I’ll only have congee,” she replied.

I said, “What can’t practitioners eat? How can we be picky? By the way, could you please prepare lunch today? I need to eat as soon as I come home from work. You can cook rice and beans. Please have the food ready on time, as there will be people coming to study the Fa in the afternoon.” She looked at me without saying anything. Then I left.

After I came home at noon, I saw that lunch was ready, and already on the table. I didn’t ask how she prepared it, and just said to her, “From now on, every time I go to work, it’s your turn to cook. I’ll come back at noon to eat, then join Fa study in the afternoon.”

On day four, Ms. Ming sat on the bed in the lotus position to study the Fa. She then did the sitting meditation for three-and-a-half hours in one go. When she got off the bed to use the washroom, miraculously, she could walk by herself. She was so excited that she hugged me and cried. She kept saying, “Thank you!”

I told her not to thank me, but to thank Master. She kowtowed three times before Master’s portrait. She stayed with me for another three days, and returned home on the seventh day.

Quickly Recovered from Illusion of a Stroke

The husband of Ms. Hua (alias) came to talk to me in June 2020. His wife had been in bed for two days. Her left foot and hand were out of commission. He said, “It looks like she’s had a stroke, but she refuses to go to the hospital. Can you please talk to her?”

Ms. Hua was frowning with a pained expression. I said, “Look at you, you’re not eating or drinking on this hot day, just lying down like that.”

“I can’t get up,” she responded in a fragile voice. “As soon as I open my eyes, I feel dizzy and want to vomit.”

I said, “If you don’t think you’re okay then please go to the hospital, so your husband won’t have to worry about you.” She told me that she wasn’t sick and that it was because her xinxing had dropped. I continued, “Since you don’t have any illness, why are you still lying there? Please get up.”

She indeed got up, and sent righteous thoughts for an hour. I then shared with her, by quoting examples from articles on the Minghui website, on how practitioners made breakthroughs in their tribulations of sickness karma by effectively looking inward. A thought came to my mind: Doing the exercises is the best cure. So I said, “Let’s do the exercises.”

Ms. Hua dragged herself to the washroom by holding on to the wall. After she came back, we began to do the exercises. Her movements were off, so I reminded her to do the exercises properly. When we did the first posture of the second exercise, Falun Standing Stance, as soon as she lifted her left arm up, she took it down. I told her to lift it up again, so she lifted it up and took it down multiple times.

When we moved to the third posture, as soon as she lifted her left arm, she took it down again. Seeing that this posture was a bit challenging for her, I came close to her, and used my arm to support hers, so she could finish the exercise. When we did the last posture, she also repeatedly took down her left arm. I had to tell her to lift it up every time she put it down, until we finished one hour of the Falun Standing Stance.

We then did the third and fourth exercises, and I reminded her again to do the movements correctly. After that, we did the sitting meditation for an hour. When we finished, she said, “I was holding the wheel above my head, and when your arm touched mine, a warm current penetrated through my whole body. I felt I was blessed by a benevolent power, which brought tears to my eyes.”

We studied one lecture of Zhuan Falun, and sent righteous thoughts at midnight. Before I left, I told her, “When you get up in the morning, do everything as usual. When your husband and daughter ask you how you are, you tell them you’re doing well. Why say that? First, so they won’t worry about you, as we practitioners always think of others first. Second, when you say you’re well, you’ll really be fine.”

Ms. Hua came to my home at 6 a.m. the next day. I praised her, saying that she was awesome. She said, “You don’t know how hard it was to walk here. I kept begging Master deep down to strengthen me so that I wouldn’t fall.” We sent righteous thoughts for an hour and studied one chapter of Zhuan Falun, followed by doing the exercises.

I reminded her to do her movements properly. When doing the Falun Standing Stance, she could lift her left arm for a little longer, but then had to put it down. She kept lifting it up and putting it down until she finished the exercise. When doing the sitting meditation, when half an hour had just passed, she couldn’t stand the pain any longer and wanted to take her legs down. But I insisted on her maintaining the posture. She was in so much pain that she kept shouting. I asked her, “You could sit for an hour yesterday, how come you can’t hold it today?”

She told me that her legs felt numb yesterday, but she could literally feel the pain this time. I replied, “Isn’t that a good thing? So you should really stick it out to the very end.”

The next evening, we studied one chapter of Zhuan Falun, did all five sets of exercises, and sent righteous thoughts at midnight. I said, “Tomorrow is our local market day. Do you want to come with me to clarify the truth there?”

We headed to the market at 8:30 a.m. Ms. Hua walked while holding my arm. She told me that she couldn’t walk steadily yet, and felt more secure holding my arm. After we finished, she had bought 11 lbs of soybeans. I asked if I could carry it for her, but she declined, and walked with it all the way from the market to her home, which was a little over half a mile.

Since then, we went out to clarify the facts every day. Initially, Ms. Hua didn’t know what to say, so she sent righteous thoughts. Gradually she got the hang of it, and became courageous enough to talk to people.

Now, she is really good at it. She studies and memorizes the Fa, looks within, and helps others also experiencing tribulations of sickness karma.

From the Brink of Death, to Normal in Five Hours

Ms. Wu (alias) came to see me after 5 p.m. on November 21, 2021. She told me that her sister-in-law Ms. Jing (alias) hadn’t eaten for a few days. She was terribly weak and could not get out of bed. Ms. Wu asked if I could come see her. She was afraid that if she were to go to see Ms. Jing on her own, Ms. Jing’s mother would verbally abuse her and wouldn’t let her in.

Ms. Jing’s brother (Ms. Wu’s husband) was fired from work for going to Beijing to validate the Fa, and his mother blamed Ms. Wu for that. Thus, whenever she saw Ms. Wu, she cursed her and wouldn’t allow her in the home.

There was no response when we knocked hard on the door, so we just opened it with the key that Ms. Jing’s nephew had given her.

Ms. Jing was huddled up in bed, with her cheekbones protruding, deep sunken eyes, and large dark circles under her tightly closed eyes. She was expressionless. I talked to her, but she didn’t answer. I then shouted, “Ms. Jing! I’m here to take you to my home. Master doesn’t want to give up on you. Whether you want to return home with Master or not, this is your last chance. If something bad happens to you, what would your family think about Dafa? Did you come here to assist Master to rectify the Fa, or to discredit Dafa? Can you take responsibility for the consequences? Quickly get up and come with me!”

She reached out her hand. It was very cold, with purplish-black skin wrapped around her bones. I pulled her up and Ms. Wu helped her get dressed. Ms. Jing said in a weak voice, “I haven’t eaten. I can’t walk.”

I said, “Let’s eat at my home. I have cooked fish today.”

Ms. Jing seemed pleased, but her mother asked me with a sullen face, “You want to take her to your home, but can you get her to recover?”

“I can’t heal her,” I replied, “but as long as she wants to, our Master can help her.”

After a while, her father asked, “Do you guys who practice Falun Gong all not eat?”

I answered, “If I don’t eat, how could I manage to come here to get her? Only she and her husband are like that. They have misunderstandings about the Fa.”

As we were about to leave Ms. Hua arrived. She and Ms. Wu helped Ms. Jing to the street. We tried to hail four cabs, but none of them wanted to give us a ride. It was very windy and cold, so Ms. Hua gave Ms. Jing a piggyback and walked all the way to my home.

Ms. Jing lay in bed as we sent righteous thoughts for her. We then put on Master’s video lectures from Guangzhou City, and watched them together. An hour later, I made some soup and Ms. Jing had five bowls of it. She then ate some solid food. She seemed much better by the time Ms. Hua and Ms. Wu decided to head home.

After using the washroom at around 11 p.m., Ms. Jing sat down to have more of the fish that I made. When I called her parents and told them about the positive changes she had gone through as well as how much food she had, her father was so excited and kept saying, “Thank you!”

We got up at 3:10 a.m. the next day to do the exercises and send righteous thoughts. Ms. Wu and Ms. Hua came back after 8 a.m. and we finished watching Master’s lectures.

I was occupied with my kids over the weekend, so Ms. Jing stayed at Ms. Hua’s home. She stayed there for a few extra days, as Ms. Hua and her husband helped her a lot. She returned home on the seventh day.

Now Ms. Jing attends group Fa-study three times a week, goes out to put up truth-clarification sticky notes, and hands out brochures. She’s found the root cause of her problem that caused her to stumble this time, and said she would cultivate well, do the three things effectively, and follow Master home.

Common Issues Among Practitioners Experiencing Sickness Karma

With my experience of assisting practitioners going though tribulations of sickness karma, I have observed the following issues.

These practitioners normally lagged behind in Fa study, and only went through the motions in studying Zhuan Falun. They studied one chapter daily and only if they had time. They also seldom read Master’s new articles, and paid little attention to sending forth righteous thoughts, and cleaning up their own dimensional field. In terms of their doing the exercise movements, they couldn’t do that correctly either, and did the exercises on and off. They also couldn’t let go of sentimentality toward their children. As a result, they were so tied up with household chores that they couldn’t spare time for truth-clarification.

Therefore, when we helped practitioners negate the old forces’ arrangements, the above-mentioned loopholes needed to be fixed. These practitioners also needed to study the Fa more, send forth righteous thoughts for an extended time, and do the exercises more often.

When practitioners start to snap out of their abnormal state, they can go out with other practitioners to clarify the facts. While looking inward, they also need to read Master’s new lectures. I also suggest they learn to memorize and recite the Fa. During the process of studying the Fa and clarifying the facts, they naturally find the reasons why they stumbled. At that time, if we share with them what we have observed in terms of their loopholes, they should be very willing to accept it.

Paying Attention to Not Developing the Attachment of Reliance

For a practitioner to help another practitioner experiencing sickness karma, he or she must possess a pure mindset, with no pursuit. One needs to act solely for the benefit of others. Meanwhile, one needs to pay attention to not having the practitioner develop the attachment of reliance on others.

Also, it’s better not to have too many practitioners help the practitioner at the same time. One or two will suffice, so they can avoid running into conflicts due to different opinions, as the practitioner experiencing sickness karma could then be at a loss or experience great pressure.

We can only guide the practitioner to make a breakthrough in their tribulation, and while our guidance is very important, everything is actually done by Master.
