(Minghui.org) When Ms. Liang Xiangjiao’s three-year term for practicing Falun Gong expired on July 30, 2022, instead of releasing her, the Hubei Province Women’s Prison handed her over to agents of the 610 Office, an extralegal agency established on June 10, 1999 tasked with persecuting Falun Gong. She is now being held incommunicado and her family is very worried about her.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Liang, a 58-year-old Wuhan City, Hubei Province resident, was arrested on July 30, 2019 and sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Hanyang District Court on October 19, 2020.

Early on the morning of July 30, 2022, the day of her scheduled release, her family went to pick her up at the Hubei Province Women’s Prison, but she never showed up.

The family asked a guard surnamed Xu, who said that Ms. Liang had already been taken away by agents of the Caidian District 610 Office and Domestic Security Office, as well as Chenggong Village secretary Sicai (last name unknown).

The family rushed to the Chenggong Village Police Station in Caidian District to inquire about her case and was directed to the village secretary, who told them that Ms. Liang had very “poor performance” during her prison term because she refused to work (performing forced labor) and was “very stubborn” (did not renounce Falun Gong).

As the authorities in Wuhan are notorious for subjecting Falun Gong practitioners to brainwashing sessions, Ms. Liang’s family suspected that she may have been taken to a brainwashing center to be subjected to further persecution.
