(Minghui.org) Paralysis is the loss of the ability to move part or all of one’s body. Most people who are paralyzed have to depend on wheelchairs for the rest of their lives. Paralysis causes tremendous pain not only for the sufferers but also for their families.

Thanks to Falun Dafa, an ancient spiritual discipline also known as Falun Gong, a number of paralyzed people have been able to walk again and now live renewed lives.

Below are several such recovery stories.

Bedridden Woman Fully Recovers in Six Days

A practitioner in Heilongjiang Province recalled that, when she was 52, she worked in Beijing to take care of a new mother who had just given birth. This practitioner accidentally fell while taking a shower on the night of October 22, 2017. She couldn’t get up the next morning. The new mother’s family took her to a hospital. The doctor said that there was no fracture, but the lumbar disc was herniated, enlarged, and the muscle was strained. The doctor gave her a long list of prescription medications and told her to go home and recuperate.

At night, her back pain was so bad that she couldn’t move. She was taken to another hospital the next day. After three days of treatment, her condition got worse and she could no longer take care of herself. On October 26, she was transferred to an orthopedic clinic and continued the treatment for another three days. But there was still no sign of improvement.

At that time, she couldn’t feel her back and legs. Her employer was scared and sent her home in a wheelchair.

She sought treatment in a famous local clinic specializing in lumbar spine disorders. Of all the patients, her condition was the most severe.

After the first day of treatment, her husband recommended she practice Falun Dafa. She agreed because she once read the book Zhuan Falun, the main text of Falun Dafa, and she knew Falun Dafa was good.

By the morning of the fourth day, a miracle happened – she could stand up! She was so excited and she realized that Master Li (Dafa’s founder) was taking care of her.

On the sixth day, she fully recovered and could cook and clean her home again.

Village Woman: Walking Again after Twenty-three Years of Paralysis

mother of three became paralyzed after undergoing forced sterilization surgery. After she took up Falun Dafa 23 years later, she experienced the biggest surprise of her life – she was able to stand and walk, three days into this cultivation practice.

The mother said that because of the one-child policy, she was forced to be sterilized on July 26, 1973. She did not wake up from the surgery until seven days later, and could not stand, move or see.

It was devastating and although she tried everything to try to reverse the effect, there was little improvement. She was able to see a little bit six years after the surgery, but she still could not move much. Her husband had to tend the farm, take care of the three children and her, as well as do all the house chores.

Her family was poor and everyone was miserable. She attempted suicide but was rescued. After 17 years of hard work, her husband succumbed to mental and physical distress and passed away. She had to crawl if she wanted to get anywhere. Her daughter, who had moved out, came once a week and cooked enough food to last her a whole week.

Her life changed after she took up Falun Dafa in 1996, 23 years after she was paralyzed.

She was taken to watch the Falun Dafa lecture videos with a group of practitioners. As she watched the exercise video on the third day, she wondered, “How can I exercise while lying down? I have to sit up and cross my legs to meditate.” She sat up as that thought occurred.

She then told herself, “Now, I have to cross my legs,” and she did, for 20 minutes! Then, she thought, “If I could do all this, I should be able to stand. I want to get off this bed.” Amazingly, she managed to stand up and even dragged herself a few steps forward. Tears poured down her face and people around her were in awe.

Shortly after she became a practitioner, she went mountain-climbing with fellow practitioners, even knowing that the road was narrow and bumpy. It was not an easy hike, but she reached the summit.
