Belgium: Practitioners Protest 23 Years of Persecution in Front of Chinese Embassy

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong (also Falun Dafa) practitioners in Belgium held activities in front of the Chinese Embassy in Brussels on July 20, 2022, to protest the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 23 year long persecution of the spiritual practice. Their activities exposed the CCP’s atrocities and called for them to stop.

Practitioners held activities to mark 23 years of peaceful resistance to the CCP’s persecution in front of the Chinese Embassy in Brussels.

Nico Bijnens, President of the Belgian Falun Dafa Association, said that the activities aim to raise awareness of the CCP’s persecution, which caused the deaths of 4,828 practitioners (confirmed). He said that the CCP committed unprecedented brutalities of harvesting organs from practitioners while they were alive. He pointed out that the CCP covered up its crimes, so the international society was deceived and took little action. 

“This is a persecution of basic human values and an extension of crimes against humanity,” Nico said. He said practitioners are determined and will never give up until the persecution has ended.

Wilfried Duchamps

Wilfried Duchamps has been practicing Falun Dafa for 16 years. He said that he found wisdom through practicing Falun Dafa and learned how to become a better person. “Chinese Falun Gong practitioners who have striven to become better people are cruelly persecuted. I have to step out for them and urge all countries in the world to take action against the CCP’s persecution!”

Filip Petitjean said the CCP destroyed China.

Practitioner Filip Petitjean said that the CCP destroyed China, which used to be a beautiful country. “It’s my responsibility to oppose the CCP’s persecution and support our Chinese fellow practitioners. We would like them to know that they aren’t alone. I hope our efforts will lessen pressure on them, deter the persecutors, and stop the persecution!”

Practitioner Johan Bijnens said that many Chinese people hadn’t realized how serious the persecution was. “I couldn’t understand at first. I found out later that the CCP covered up its evil persecution with lies. The CCP’s Internet blockade and censorship have made it hard for the Chinese people to learn the truth. The Chinese Communist Party is harming all Chinese people, including Falun Gong practitioners and people are being deceived. Everyone should say ‘No’ to this persecution. There is no standing in between,” Johan stressed. “That’s why we are stepping out to expose the persecution.”

Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?

Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.

Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.

Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.

Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 23 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.

There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
