Boston, Massachusetts: Calling for an End to the 23 Years Persecution of Falun Dafa

(Minghui.org) July 20, 2022 marks the 23rd year of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioners in Boston gathered for a rally and raised awareness of the ongoing persecution by displaying truth-clarification videos and poster boards, collecting signatures for a petition, exposing atrocities committed by the CCP to passersby, and doing the Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) exercises at Boston Commons on July 16, 2022. In addition, they also called for the CCP to put an end to the persecution

Christopher, a local resident, said, “Falun Dafa looks peaceful. I would like to learn this practice.” He began learning the exercises on the spot.

Ms. Lu Di, from Guangdong Province, said, “I am aware of the facts about Falun Dafa, and have withdrawn from the CCP and its youth organizations.” She was interested in learning how to start practicing.

Practitioners Called for an End to the Persecution

Mr. Luan Shujun, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Heilongjiang Province who now resides in Boston, said, “I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1995. I was reported to the authorities by my coworker in 2008. Therefore, I was forced to leave my home, and lost my job. Then, I was illegally arrested and taken to a detention center in 2009.The first remark the interrogator of the Beijing Municipal Police Department Chaoyang Branch made was, 'Mr. Luan Shujun, we have investigated you thoroughly, and know that you are a good person.'”

He continued, “It seemed to me that those who worked in the police department knew that Falun Dafa practitioners are good people. Yet they still persecute and suppress this group of good people.”

Mr. Luan was incarcerated for two years in a forced labor camp, during which he was forced to perform hard labor, and watch videos that defamed Falun Dafa. “They have reversed good and evil,” he said.

Mr. Luan hopes to awaken people’s conscience by speaking of his experiences. He hoped that people would support Falun Dafa practitioners’ peaceful resistance. He also wished that by exposing the CCP’s evil nature, it would begin the disintegration of the CCP, and the persecution would come to an end.
