(Minghui.org) After two years of being displaced to avoid being persecuted for her faith in Falun Gong, a Bairin Left Banner, Inner Mongolia resident was arrested and is now facing prosecution.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been targeted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Yu Zhanhua’s ordeal stemmed from her earlier arrest on April 22, 2019. The police interrogated her from 9 p.m. to 3 p.m. the next day without allowing her to sleep. Her husband, Mr. Xing Kui, was also detained at the police department for a day.

After 51 days of detention and constant interrogation, Ms. Yu developed a serious heart condition. Following strong demands from her family and lawyer, she was released on June 12. The police began to call her husband a month later and indicated their intention to persecute her. To avoid being arrested again, Ms. Yu left home despite her poor health.

Liu Caijun, director from Ongniud Banner Domestic Security Office, found Ms. Yu’s husband at his workplace in August 2019 and demanded that he reveal her whereabouts. He refused.

The police called him again weeks later and asked him to go to the police department. When he went there, they forced him into an inmate’s uniform and handcuffed and interrogated him. They also took away his cellphone to look for his contact history with Ms. Yu. The police threatened him with serious consequences if he covered up for Ms. Yu.

Ms. Yu’s husband was summoned to the police department again on April 7, 2020. The officers examined his cellphone again. They also asked for information about his siblings, the names of his and Ms. Yu’s children, and where he had gone in the prior few months. They forced him to wear an inmate’s uniform again during the interrogation.

The police later located Ms. Yu and followed her when she returned from her hiding place to her own home on the evening of January 6, 2022. They stayed outside her apartment building overnight. When her husband came out of the building at around 10 a.m. the next day, the police snatched his key. Liu Caijun and more than 30 officers ransacked the couple’s place, confiscating Ms. Yu’s Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and her computer.

Ms. Yu was taken to the Ongniud Banner Detention Center and has been held there since. Her husband was also arrested and held at the Bairin Left Banner Police Department until 6 p.m.

Ms. Yu’s husband recently learned that the police have submitted her case to the local Procuratorate.
