(Minghui.org) I started practicing Falun Dafa when I was 23 years old, in 1998. Before that, I coughed a lot, had difficulty breathing, and my heart beat irregularly. Intense exercise also increased my heart rate so much that I felt like it would jump out of my chest. I took many different medicines, but none of them helped. Soon after I committed to cultivation practice, however, all my illnesses disappeared. I experienced the feeling of being illness-free and have not taken any medicine for more than 20 years.

I came to understand the meaning of life after I began cultivation. I started following Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a good person. I am a truck driver. Some of the drivers in my fleet would take home antifreeze and engine oil for their own personal use. They also took screws, light bulbs, and other items from the warehouse. They either kept them for personal use or sold them. I never did those things or took advantage of my company. I understand that practitioners must be good people wherever we are.

In the fleet, each truck was assigned two drivers split between two shifts. The morning shift started at 2:00 a.m. and ended at 12:00 noon; the afternoon shift started at 12:00 noon and ended at 10:00 p.m.

In the summer, the drivers liked to work the morning shift. We commute to the warehouse at 2 a.m. and it is daybreak by the time we start driving the truck out. The morning driving starts with cool temperatures and the drivers are off work by noon before the day is hot.

Summer afternoons get hot, so people are prone to get drowsy. After dark, the drivers don’t see as well, and with the complicated road system in the mining area, accidents are prone to happen. Therefore, many drivers prefer the morning shift. There were a lot of drivers who contended over the morning shift. The ongoing conflicts gave the fleet leader a headache.

Master Li taught us to “... consider others when doing anything.” (Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun). I told my coworker: “If you want the morning shift, it is yours; if you want the afternoon shift, it is yours. I’m okay either way.” For the nine years I worked in the fleet, I almost always worked the afternoon shift. The drivers of other trucks enviously said, “It would be great if I had been paired with this guy!”

Our salary is piece rate based, which means the more trips one makes, the more one earns. Some drivers drove as fast as they could to earn more money. I followed Dafa’s teachings and never competed with them. When they caught up with me from behind, I slowed down and pulled to the side to let them pass. Because I drove carefully, my truck rarely broke down. So although I drove less trips per day than they did, I did not earn any less. The fleet owner and leader were happy with my driving. They said that I drove well, my truck had much less down time, and much lower repair costs. When they had new trucks come in, they always assigned me one first.

In the winter, I once went back to the warehouse to repair the tires. Bundled up for the weather, I walked cautiously because of the rough road. I then suddenly heard a “cracking” sound; I sprained my ankle. I sat down to adjust my foot and kept repeating, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” I told myself, “I am okay! My ankle returned to normal in a short while.

Another time, I lost my balance getting off the commuter bus and sprained my ankle. I once again recited “Falun Dafa is good, Truth-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” and my ankle returned to normal; I was not delayed going to work. If I hadn’t practiced Falun Dafa, these two incidents would have stopped me from working for months.

Similar situations have happened to me many times. I feel fortunate that I practice Falun Dafa. I personally experienced the beauty and miraculous nature of Dafa. I hope everyone can learn the truth about Dafa and become as fortunate as me.
