Resolving Tribulations: Using Righteous Thoughts and Actions

(Minghui.org) I’m now 85 years old and began to practice Falun Dafa in February 1996. Over the years of my cultivation, I have deeply experienced that everything will be smooth when we have righteous thoughts, but we will face trouble when we do things based on human attachments. 

I was arrested by the police on April 30, 2010 for sending letters to clarify the truth and my home was ransacked. Since I was experiencing some sickness karma at the time, I was released on bail pending trial. A year later I was summoned twice to a court session. 

I remembered that Master repeatedly said, “Don’t acknowledge the old forces’ arrangements,” (Teachings Given on Lantern Festival Day, 2003) so I knew that I should not acknowledge the persecution. 

Although I was not completely confident, I knew clarifying the truth was the right thing to do and it was what Master wanted. Inspired by the booklet published on Minghui, “It’s Legal to Have a Belief; It’s Illegal to Persecute,” I wrote letters to the judges and prosecutors, and refused to appear in court. In the end, under Master’s protection, the two attempts of the court sessions were stopped with no outcomes.

Police Leave Me Alone

When I was clarifying the truth to a young man on the street. He said, “Show me some information.” I gave him two booklets. He asked, “Any more?” I then gave him a CD. He suddenly grabbed my wrist and called the police.

I was very calm, and I just gently continued to clarify the truth to him. It took about 20 minutes for the police car to arrive. He was very impatient and called several more times. Two police officers came, wrote down his complaint, and then sent him away. One officer smiled at me but didn’t say anything. He just took a few booklets and a CD. Then they drove off. Because I had a pure mentality at the time, Master resolved the tribulation for me. This was also the result of fellow practitioners clarifying the truth to the police in the past.

On the way home I helped five more people withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations. After I arrived at home, I looked for my shortcomings. I thought, “Is it because I didn’t do a good a job in clarifying the truth?” The next morning, almost every person I talked to agreed to withdraw from the CCP. In just a short time, 22 people agreed to withdraw, and most of them were young college students. This was the smoothest day I had since I began clarifying the truth, and it was also the most people I helped in one day.

I knew that Master was encouraging me. Master has already arranged everything and we are just doing things on the surface. Thank you, Master!

Officers Listen to Me 

I was arrested by the police when clarifying the truth at a market in 2017. When I was pushed into the police vehicle, I had one thought, “Go there and clarify the truth.” I did not hold any fear. 

When I got to the police station, they told me to wait in an office and gave me a chair to sit on. There were five or six police officers in the office, and people were coming in and out. I sat down across from the officers and began to clarify the truth to them. 

I talked about many things, starting with the spread of Dafa to more than 100 countries, to the fact that the CCP’s persecution of Dafa is illegal. Next, I talked about the great improvement in my health and my mind after practicing Dafa. Then, I spoke of China’s top official Qiao Shi’s conclusion that “Falun Dafa has all the benefits to the country and the people, and does no harm” after he investigated many retired officials. Then, I continued to elaborate about the staged “Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation Incident,” the “Hidden Character Stone;” to the fact that China’s Constitution guarantees freedom of belief. I naturally did not forget the CCP’s recent arrests of corrupt officials, to the principle that good is rewarded, but bad deeds are punished.

No one stopped me from speaking. Four officers sat behind their desks the entire time and listened quietly. I told them the story about a Russian soldier who guarded the Berlin Wall during the Cold War. He shot and killed someone who was crossing the wall. 

When he was put on trial, he argued that he was just carrying out orders. The judge told him, “You say that you were carrying out orders. You could have shot the man, but only injured him. Instead you shot to kill him. In this world, people have a ‘conscience.’ When the law and conscience conflict, conscience is the highest code of conduct, not the law. Respect for life is a universal principle.”

One police officer suddenly stood up and said excitedly, “I’m very inspired by this story and I learned a lot.”

I spoke for about an hour. It was noontime, and an officer brought me two large stuffed buns. He said, “I wasn’t sure if you eat meat. So I got you two vegetarian ones.” I politely declined. I silently asked Master to help me go home.

The entire time, no one yelled at me. No one tried to give me a “talk,” and no one tried to pressure me to stop practicing Falun Dafa. It was unbelievable. It was perhaps because the thought I had when I was arrested was very righteous, so Master arranged everything.

In the little time that’s left, I will be more and more diligent on my cultivation path. Thank you, Master, for your meticulous and compassionate care and protection!
