Additional Persecution News from China – May 29, 2022 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shanghai] Ms. Qian Beizhen Detained

Ms. Qian Beizhen, from Caolu Town of the Pudong New District, has been detained in the district detention center for nearly one year since June 2021.

2. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Detained in Prison

Ms. Zeng Xiaolin, Ms. Lu Wei and Ms. Fan Ying were sentenced to four years, eight years, and four years in prison respectively by the Taoyuan County Court in October 2021. They appealed to the Changde Intermediate Court, but the original verdicts were upheld in December 2021.

Three practitioners were taken to the Hunan Province Women’s Prison on May 19, 2022. Initially they were rejected because their temperatures were too high. The officers who escorted them did something to make their temperatures go down and managed to send them in.

3. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Xinmin Detained in Prison

After the verdict against elderly Mr. Wang Xinmin was upheld by the Mudanjiang Intermediate Court, he was taken to the Mudanjiang Prison.

4. [Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qi Guoxi Faces Trial

Mr. Qi Guoxi from the Shengli Oilfield was arrested by officers in the Bincheng District in August 2021. He was denied admission by the detention center because of his poor health and was released on bail pending trial.

Mr. Qi will be tried by the Bincheng District Court at 3 p.m. on June 1, 2022.

5. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

More than 10 officers from the Beidaihe District Railway Police Station went to Ms. Sun Shuping’s home in recent days and ransacked it. After seeing Ms. Zhao Xiaoling and her husband Mr. Shi Keqin in Ms. Sun’s home, they questioned the couple and went to ransack their home as well. Ms. Liu Shulian lives in the same residential community as the couple. The police also ransacked her home. Mr. Shi is currently placed in criminal arrest and will be quarantined for 14 days in the police hospital. The others have been released.

6. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] The Case Against Ms. Ding Zerong Submitted to the Court

Ms. Ding Zerong from Huangchuan County, 68, was arrested in 2021 and detained for 13 days. She was taken to the Xinyang City Detention Center but was denied admission because of her poor health.

Her case was recently submitted to the Huangchuan County Court. Officers from the Jiangji Police Station went to her home several times and pushed the indictment papers through the bottom of her door. Ms. Ding now stays away from her home to avoid further persecution.

7. [Anyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Guijuan Detained for Over a Year

Ms. Wang Guijuan is a senior teacher. She was arrested by officers from the Wenfeng District Police Department in April 2021 for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong online. She has been detained in the Anyang City Detention Center since then.

8. [Tianjin] Ms. Song Yunling Arrested and Detained

Ms. Song Yunling lives in Tuanjiebeili, Zhongshanmen, Hedong District. She ordered a cake on May 12, 2022 with the words, “Falun Dafa Day.” Officers from the Dazhigu Police Station followed her when she picked up the cake, and she was arrested at home around 6 p.m. on May 13, 2022. Ms. Song is still being detained in the police station.

9. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Hailiang Harassed

Officers from the Chongwen Sub-district Police Station have gone to Mr. Li Hailiang’s home in Fanzhuang Village several times since May 13, 2022. They ransacked his home and threatened his family members.

The officers returned to Mr. Li’s home again around 6 a.m. on May 27, 2022. They were looking for him and tried to prevent his son from going to work. Mr. Li’s wife is over 70 and is traumatized by this continued harassment.

10. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hao Xiufan and Ms. Wang Lijun Harassed

Five officers from the Dongguan Police Station went to Ms. Hao Xiufan’s home in the Dongguan Village around 2 p.m. on May 5, 2022. Ms. Hao’s husband was at home. They claimed that they needed to search the home since Ms. Hao was a practitioner. They confiscated three media players, two amulets and one desk calendar.

Then they went to Ms. Wang Lijun’s home and ransacked it. They confiscated 72 yuan in paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong facts, one cell phone, and her ID card. They pressured Ms. Wang to admit that she placed stickers with information about Falun Gong on the electric pole outside. They said if she didn’t admit it, they would confiscate her Falun Gong books and her photo of Falun Gong’s founder. Ms. Wang was taken to the police station and placed under 5-day detention, which would be executed after the pandemic was over. She refused to sign any paperwork and was released later.

11. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Jing Yongan Arrested

A group of officers including Wang Deshun, head of the Zhenbei Police Station, went to Mr. Jing Yongan’s home around 9 p.m. on May 14, 2022, with a blank search warrant without any seals. Without giving any reason for their search, they ransacked Mr. Jing’s home and confiscated his Falun Gong books and posters from his wall. He was interrogated by Dai Guoqing, deputy of the Kangping County Police Department, that night and next afternoon. After Mr. Jing’s family paid 5,000 yuan, he was released on bail the next evening.

12. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xue Jinhua and Ms. Fu Shuxia Arrested

Ms. Xue Jinhua and Ms. Fu Shuxia were photographed when they talked to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested by several officers around 1 p.m. on May 3, 2022. They were taken to the Zhennan Police Station. Ms. Xue refused to cooperate and was detained in a metal cage. The police first ransacked Ms. Fu’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books. Then they took Ms. Xue to her workplace, the Pengcheng Hostel. They searched around and found one Falun Gong book, two bookmarks, two paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong facts, and two USB drives. They searched Ms. Xue’s home but didn’t find anything.

Ms. Fu was released that evening and Ms. Xue was released the next day.
