(Minghui.org) A Dalian City, Liaoning Province resident was transferred to a local prison on June 21, 2022 to serve four years and three months for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Xu Liming, a 41-year-old real estate company employee, took up Falun Gong in 2005. She credits the practice for curing her hyperthyroidism, anemia and many other ailments.

She and her husband were arrested on September 17, 2019, prior to the communist regime’s 70-year anniversary of seizing power on October 1. At least 16 other practitioners were also arrested on the same day, after being monitored and followed by the authorities for weeks.

Ms. Xu was held at the Yaojia Detention Center. She was indicted in June 2020 and later sentenced to four years and three months in the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison by the Kaifa District Court. The exact sentencing date isn’t clear.

According to information collected by Minghui.org, at least 38 Falun Gong practitioners were sentenced in Dalian in 2021. Another 142 were arrested and 276 harassed. Nine practitioners died as a result of the persecution.
