We Need to Clear Our Cultivation Environment and Get Rid of Our Human Sentimentality to Better Save Sentient Beings

(Minghui.org) Recently a person named Nguyen Van Giem in Vietnam who claimed to be a Falun Dafa practitioner led some practitioners to travel to some regions in Vietnam to persuade the locals to quit the Communist Party.

Their aggressive actions created conflicts between various local governments and Dafa practitioners, severely affecting local practitioners’ cultivation environment and causing the general public to develop misunderstandings about Dafa. 

Falun Dafa welcomes everyone who wants to learn. But whether one can become a genuine practitioner depends on whether one can truly follow Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and whether one’s actions are in line with Dafa or sabotage Dafa’s reputation.

Some practitioners followed Nguyen to the south region to “train” local practitioners. They urged the local practitioners to follow their requirements to persuade the Vietnamese people to make the “Three Withdrawals” from the Communist Party and its two affiliated youth organizations. They said that it’s time to clarify the facts to public officials and average citizens and to persuade them to quit the Communist Party. 

For those who have participated in such activities, they should seriously think about whether such actions conform to Master’s requirements in the Fa.

In terms of why people should do the “Three Withdrawals” or who should do it, Master has explained to us clearly.

Master said,

“[By encouraging] the “Three Withdrawals,” you are saving people, saving sentient beings, and saving the people of mainland China. This is not an issue outside of mainland China.” (Teachings at the Conference in Los Angeles)

In terms of whether Vietnamese people need to do the “Three Withdrawals,” Master specifically taught us:

“The root is in China. When the CCP’s factors disintegrate, all those others will disintegrate. There is no need to do anything about them specifically. Although those are all societies under the vile Party’s rule, no persecution of Dafa disciples has taken place there. So you don’t need to make a priority of them. In the future, when the CCP collapses, all of them will collapse and be done with. So right now we aren’t going to touch them.” (Teachings at the Conference in Los Angeles)

Master also said,

“If you, as my student, truly want to “help Master rectify the Fa,” then you should concern yourself only with how to best fulfill what Master wants. This alone is what you should be doing, yet you want instead for Master to help you? How could you use Dafa during the Fa-rectification to instead help fulfill your human ideas?” (“What Does It Mean to “Help Master Rectify the Fa”?,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress III)

As Dafa practitioners, we all know that we are saving people by persuading them to do the “Three Withdrawals.” The Chinese people have been indoctrinated by the communist regime the worst and it’s urgent for them to quit the Party. To help them, not only practitioners inside China are working hard on it, but the practitioners outside of China have also been talking to the Chinese tourists. But for the general public outside of China, they don’t need to do the “Three Withdrawals” at this current stage.

Those who are strongly attached to their own understanding have been misled and misunderstood Master’s Fa. They found excuses for their extreme actions, such as the situation has changed; the Vietnamese people can only be saved if they quit the Party; or this is a very special period of time.

They established groups to distribute flyers, urging the public to do the “Three Withdrawals.” They also persuaded the practitioners to do the “Three Withdrawals” during Fa study. When some practitioners tried to stop them, they attacked the former and accused them of being Chinese Communist Party spies. Some practitioners have been forced to stand in front of Master’s portrait to do the “Three Withdrawals.”

Another practitioner said he was ordered by two people from that group to fill in his name and phone number on the “Three Withdrawals” list, as those people claimed that practitioners especially need to do it. They also alleged that as long as the Vietnamese government has anyone’s record on the Communist Party’s roster, they had been contaminated and should do the withdrawals. 

The strong human attachments of those practitioners have seriously undermined the cultivation environment and have driven wedges between Vietnamese practitioners.

While many have realized how serious the situation is, there are still practitioners with a lack of clear understanding of the Fa who give them audience. They judge things with their human understanding, not the Fa. Everyone who is involved should all take a moment to look within and spend more time studying the Fa.

On our cultivation path, everyone makes mistakes and some make big mistakes. Compassionate Master has given us one chance after another to make improvement in cultivation and make up for our mistakes. It’s also because we know how hard cultivation is, we are being tolerant and forbearing when fellow practitioners make mistakes. But Dafa also has its dignity and it requires us to look at things rationally. If we don’t follow the Fa, but are influenced by human understanding and emotions, problems are bound to occur.

For those who follow Nguyen Van Giem to persuade the Vietnamese people to do the “Three Withdrawals,” I wonder whether they know that he was the one who followed Pham Xuan Giao, who enlightened along an evil path in 2013. 

In the Minghui article “Cherish and Preserve the Cultivation Environment; Rationally Validate the Fa With a Clear Mind,” the Falun Dafa Association has pointed out many of Pham’s problems, such as altering the Falun emblem, creating some designs on his own or getting practitioners to form patterns that showcase these designs. Despite the article, he continued to lead practitioners to do inappropriate things and even formed a group, claiming themselves as the ones who’ve received genuine teaching in Dafa.

During an incident in 2014 in Hanoi, Nguyen Van Giem acted very irresponsibly and threatened to smash some statues in public places. None of his actions conformed to Dafa’s teaching. He was arrested and later sentenced to prison. After he was released, he didn’t reflect on himself, but continued to pretend to be a Dafa practitioner and stirred conflicts among other practitioners. Some practitioners with strong human attachments believed him and his self-claimed “achievements.” The longer they followed Nguyen, the worse the situation became. For such practitioners, they didn’t only fail to save sentient beings, but also jeopardized their own cultivation.

Master has taught us clearly in the article “To the Practitioners of Vietnam” how we should handle the situation in Vietnam. We should all cultivate ourselves well in order to better assist Master in Fa-rectification.

I want to end my sharing article with Master’s quote from the article “A Strong and Urgent Warning”: 

“Spiritual perfection is only possible for a Dafa disciple who takes the Fa’s teachings as his guide and doesn’t lose the heart he had at the start!”

I hope those fellow practitioners who have gone astray can wake up from this deviation, quickly rectify themselves and return the peace and purity to our cultivation environment.
