My Bitter Life Turned Sweet

(Minghui.org) It has been more than 20 years since I was sick and frail. After years of seeking medical treatment with no improvement, I began to practice Falun Dafa. Master Li Hongzhi (founder of Falun Dafa) purified my body, and I untied the knots in my heart by letting go of grievances. In just two months, the nephritis, gynecological disease, enteritis, and stomach problems were gone. I am grateful for Master Li's infinite compassion.

My Gambler Husband

My husband was addicted to gambling. He didn’t support us, but stole money from our family instead. He sold our pigs several times and accused me of losing them. As long as he had money in his hands, he would disappear for days.

When my family renovated our house, we accrued a debt. After I gave birth, I was unable to do housework by myself. The pigs we raised to support our family ran away. I was anxious and angry, my whole body was swollen, and I got nephritis. Although the swelling later subsided, I couldn’t eat anything for 10 days. My lack of nutrition also affected my son’s growth.

My husband was not happy with my being sick and criticizing his gambling. He asked me to leave home with my son several times. We finally divorced nine years later, and I raised my son alone without financial support from him. Our family land was acquired by the government, and we were compensated. However, my son’s share was taken by my husband.

After I started practicing Dafa, I persuaded my son to reunite with his father, who was moved to tears. When he got sick, my son paid for him to see a doctor. Now my daughter-in-law is also filial to him and takes care of him.

I was unhealthy when I left home with my young child. After practicing Falun Dafa, I was completely different. My health improved, and the villagers all said that Dafa is a great practice.

When I was under the CCP’s persecution, the villagers respected me, and they were willing to confide in me. I would use the wisdom I obtained from the Fa to help them. Some of them began to practice Dafa and others joined me in resisting the persecution.

Rewarded for Spreading the Truth

I run a barber shop. I benefited from practicing Falun Dafa and wanted to clarify the facts to others. Under the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) defamatory propaganda, many people didn’t know the truth about the persecution. So I played videos to customers while they waited for haircuts.

Mr. Huang, a businessman, came to my shop and wanted to borrow a video. He said that his wife watched it while having a haircut the day before and found out that Falun Dafa is good, and many people around the world have learned it. He came back a few days later and said that he thought the video was good and recommended it to his friends.

This was when Dafa was being brutally persecuted. Mr. Huang was blessed because he understood and spread the truth about Dafa. When the electrical wires in my father’s old house needed to be replaced, I went to Mr. Huang’s store with my father to buy wires and other materials. We saw that he had two showrooms, and the upstairs and downstairs were full of building materials. He told me that now his business had grown large, and he also owned a guesthouse as well as another business for building materials. I expressed my happiness for him.

My Cousin’s Improvement

My cousin could no longer walk and had spent more than 100,000 yuan for treatment. He ran out of money for further treatment. When he heard that I came back to my hometown to do business, he wanted to meet with me. From my youth, I remember that he was once optimistic and outgoing. He was now a different person and could only move around using a stool with his hands.

He knew that I practiced Dafa and had recovered from all my illnesses. I told him to try reciting “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” My cousin believed it, and he also began to wear a Dafa amulet. A month later, my cousin’s health began to slowly improve, and he could go out for tea using a cane. He was then able to walk slowly without the use of a cane. My cousin said to me: “I once forgot to wear the amulet after taking a bath, and I did not feel well. But after I put it back on, I was fine.”

My Father Changes

My father intially supported me and my brother in our cultivation. He then became afraid of the CCP’s persecution and scolded us every day. He sometimes even beat us. He even joined the local 610 office and tore up our Dafa books when he saw them.

He was also conflicted. He knew that it was difficult for us to give up practicing Dafa. He once went to a teahouse and proclaimed: “There are two Falun Dafa practitioners in our family!” A person next to him said: “Your family is good, and how fortunate that there are two more Falun Dafa practitioners out there.” My father felt comforted and knew that Dafa is good.

My father has a book stand and supports himself. One day, a man who returned home after serving a jail sentence came to see my father and told him that he had raised a good, remarkable son. He talked about my brother’s experience of being persecuted in the same prison. In order to make him renounce his faith, the prison officials made him freeze in the cold weather, exposed him to the scorching sun in summer, and even prevented him from eating enough.

No matter what they did to him, my brother had no regrets. My father used to hear that my brother was treated well in prison. He now heard the truth about the brutality my brother suffered. My father was angry and sad, and he wrote several letters complaining about the ill treatment his son received. My brother’s situation later improved a bit.

At the same time, my father confessed his mistake to Master Li. Since my father supported us in our cultivation, his business also blossomed. In the past few years, in addition to paying his living expenses, he saved more than 100,000 yuan.

Sometimes, when he reads Dafa books, he is moved to tears by the Fa principles. He told others to sincerely recite “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is good!” Someone actually made good money from his work after reciting the phrase and came to thank my father. My father also convinced his brother to begin practicing Dafa. My uncle and aunt are in their 90s and both are in good health. They live on their own and are bathed in the righteous light of Dafa.
