(Minghui.org) Two fellow practitioners in our area, Ming and Rui, have been doing the three things well in Dafa cultivation. In particular, they have been distributing truth-clarification materials for years on the streets and in residential buildings.

Even though Ming had been arrested numerous times and tortured, with her firm belief in Dafa and Master, she always managed to regain her freedom soon after. Fellow practitioners all admire her perseverance and courage.

Despite their diligence, Ming and Rui have failed to pay attention to cellphone security. Even though other practitioners reminded them many times, they did not change their ways of doing things. For example, they would carry their cellphones when they went out to distribute materials and then call each other after they finished.

When they planned to visit a fellow practitioner who was going through a tribulation, they also used their cellphones to confirm their plan. Since their cellphones were tapped, the police went there ahead of them to wait. Another practitioner named Yun happened to be there visiting the practitioner in tribulation as well, but she noticed that two police officers were behind her. She wisely turned around and went into another building and watched them through a window.

Yun escaped later, but Ming was already at the home of the fellow practitioner. In order to avoid loss, Yun went to see Rui to warn her. Both Ming and Rui realized that they had been followed by someone for a while now, and Rui even discovered a tracking device on her bike.

Unfortunately, Ming was arrested and persecuted. She was injected with an unknown drug which caused her legs to fester. It broke my heart to hear that. I felt obligated to write this to serve as a reminder to fellow practitioners: We all have to pay close attention to this very important security issue.

We can no longer use excuses not to pay attention to cellphone security. We still see fellow practitioners use cellphones to contact others and discuss Dafa-related things. Some also brought their cellphones when they visited fellow practitioners. When others reminded them of security, they said it’s because that practitioner didn’t have righteous thoughts, but had fear and attachment. In my opinion, paying attention to security isn’t only a personal matter, but it’s also related to other practitioners’ safety.

A few years ago, there were local cases of practitioners’ cell phones being tapped for a long time, and tracking devices were placed on their tricycles. As a result, many practitioners were arrested, their homes were raided, and their equipment and related supplies to make truth-clarification materials were confiscated. Some were also given heavy sentences and forced to give up Dafa as they could no longer bear the torture. It’s really distressing! Why can’t we learn this lesson?

Master warned us about this issue:

“All of the mobile phones, computers, and other electronic devices that you carry on you that are connected to the Internet, act as listening devices. The wicked CCP isn’t the only entity that is interested in Dafa disciples. I can tell you that many countries have grown increasingly interested, and are monitoring you. You might think that you’re just a regular practitioner, and of nobody’s concern, but when you make a phone call even things like chitchat, when you went grocery shopping, and when you will eat are recorded, and they analyze everything they can about you. Are you aware of how companies go about analyzing commercial intelligence? It’s based on these things. As long as you carry a mobile phone on you, they have already learned a lot about you.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2019 New York Fa Conference”)

Don’t we always say that we will do whatever Master tells us to do? Why don’t we listen to Master’s words on the issue of cellphone security?

I hope that we can be strict with ourselves, pay attention to the security of our cellphones, and not make it convenient for the authorities to persecute us. Furthermore, we should all check our modes of transportation carefully, whether it’s a car, motorcycle, or bike, to make sure there are no surveillance devices attached to them.
