Additional Persecution News from China - April 11, 2022 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Du Yongfeng Taken to Prison

Mr. Du Yongfeng was arrested on July 11, 2020, by officers from the Pulandian Police Station, Domestic Security Division, and the Police Department. The police ransacked his home and confiscated all his printers, 50 to 60 boxes of printing paper, two laptops, a desktop computer, DVDs, and some silver jewelry.

Mr. Du was held in the Pulandian Detention Center for eight to nine months. He was sentenced to nine years in prison and was taken to Dalian City Prison.

2. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xu Mulan and Ms. Xia Yulan, Both 78, Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Xu Mulan, 78, Ms. Xia Yulan, 78, and Ms. Xu Guiming were arrested on March 23, 2022, and held in the Zhenjiang City Detention Center.

Ms. Xu Mulan was sentenced to one year and nine months in prison, and Ms. Xia was sentenced to 3 years. They were taken to the Changzhou Women’s Prison. They were denied family visits.

3. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Mei Sufang Arrested

Ms. Mei Sufang was arrested at home by local police on March 3, 2022. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong's founder. Ms. Mei was held in the Zibo City Detention Center. She was placed under official arrest in April 2022.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Li Shengshi’s Pension Suspended

Ms. Li Shengshi’s only source of income was her pension. The local pension management office suspended it in January 2022 because of her faith in Falun Gong.

5. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Orphan’s Home Ransacked

Fan Jingang is a 15-year-old orphan from Qiansuo Town, Suizhong County. When he was seven years old, his father, Mr. Fan Dezhen, was arrested and persecuted to death because he refused to renounce Falun Gong. His mother, Ms. Yang Xue, died in November 2020. Practitioner Ms. Wu Shuling, 70, has been taking care of the boy after his mother’s death. Officers from the Suizhong County Police Department Domestic Security Division ransacked the home he shares with Ms. Wu on March 31, 2022.

Six or seven officers led by Wang Baomin, the head of the Police Department Domestic Security Division, ransacked the home of 82-year-old Mr. Li Dianwen in Qianwei Town. They destroyed the couplets containing Falun Gong information and confiscated his Falun Gong books, photos of Falun Gong's founder, Minghui Weekly, and audio players. Officers from the local community office went to his home again on April 1, 2022, and tore off the remaining couplet on his door.

6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Pan Yuelan, 87, Faces Indictment, Two Other Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Yinzhu Police Station in Huangdao District arrested 87-year-old Ms. Pan Yuelan on October 17, 2021. She returned home three days later. She received a call from the local court on March 18, 2022, saying that her case was submitted to the Procuratorate.

Ms. Shao Guiqiu from the Huangdao District was arrested by officers from the Yinzhu Police Station for mailing a letter to Guo Xiaohui, head of the Huangdao Police Department. Her home was ransacked. She was placed under official arrest in December 2021. Ms. Shao was released on bail on December 31, 2021, because she did not pass the physical exam.

Ms. Duan Guixiu from the Huangdao District was placed under surveillance after mailing a letter to Guo Xiaohui, head of the Huangdao Police Department. She was arrested by officers from the Yinzhu Police Station on November 29, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Duan was placed under official arrest in December 2021. She was released on January 7, 2022, due to her poor health and was placed under residential surveillance. She was requested to go to the local police station to verify some personal information on March 23, 2022, which was submitted to further persecute her.

7. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Gu Zhifang’s Family Harassed

Ms. Gu Zhifang was harassed by the local police repeatedly. Her husband, who is not a practitioner, was repeatedly harassed by phone in June and July 2021. Ms. Gu’s son was also harassed and threatened on the phone twice. Her family members were under great pressure.

8. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Huabin Arrested

Mr. Zhang Huabin was arrested at home on March 1, 2022. He was taken to the Longjiang Detention Center and held there.

9. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jiao Guizhi Harassed

In early April 2022, two officers from the Baiqi Town Police Station went to 81-year-old Ms. Jiao Guizhi’s home and photographed the place, which placed her under tremendous stress.

10. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hang Shizhen Harassed

During the 2022 Winter Olympics, three or four officers from the Wanquan Town Police Station broke into Ms. Hang Shizhen’s home on February 5, 2022. They destroyed all the couplets on her door and took away a photo of Falun Gong’s founder. Ms. Hang was not at home but her husband was there.
