Additional Persecution News from China - March 23, 2022 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhang Li’s Case Filed to the Procuratorate

Ms. Zhang Li was reported to police when she talked to people about Falun Gong on December 16, 2020. She was arrested by officers from the Datang Police Station. Both her and her mother’s homes were ransacked. Although the police didn’t find any so-called evidence, they still forced her family to sign a bail pending trial before releasing Ms. Zhang that evening. 

Ms. Zhang’s case was submitted to the Yuexiu District Procuratorate at the end of June, 2021. It was transferred to the Liwan District Procuratorate in October, 2021, which handed the case to the Liwan District Court at the end of 2021.

Ms. Zhang went missing on January 13, 2022. It is believed that the Liwan District Court has illegally changed the enforcement measure about her and had her arrested.

Ms. Zhang, about 60, worked as an accountant. She was previously arrested or detained multiple times for practicing her faith, Falun Gong. She was held in a forced labor camp for 3 years. Agents from the community office and police station harassed her for extended periods. She was sent to the Guangzhou Law and Order Brainwashing Center three times where she was handcuffed to window frames with her feet off the ground. She was not allowed to use the toilet, deprived of sleep, made to stand for long periods and forced to watch videos that defamed Falun Gong.

2. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Jiazhi and Ms. Min Ruyi Detained

Ms. Chen Jiazhi and Ms. Min Ruyi were arrested by officers from the Huangzhuang Police Station when they talked to people about Falun Gong in Huangzhuang on March 16, 2022. They are being held in the Zhongxiang City Detention Center.

3. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gao Longying and Mr. Luo Banglin Persecuted

The Miyi County Court authorities notified Ms. Gao Longying to go to the court on March 22, 2022 to receive her subpoena.

Six or seven officers from Miyi County arrested Mr. Luo Banglin at his home on March 10, 2022. They ransacked his home and seized items including Falun Gong books. Mr. Luo was later transferred to the Yanbian County Detention Center in Panzhihua City. Details are being investigated.

4. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yu Faquan Missing Since March 20, 2022

Mr. Yu Faquan has been missing since March 20, 2022.

5. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yan Fulu Harassed

Six or seven officers from the Dazheng Police Station and the Suncun Police Station barged into Mr. Yan Fulu’s home and seized information about Falun Gong on March 10, 2022. Officers from police stations have been going to Mr. Yan’s home to harass him at least twice each year.

6. [Yunmeng County, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Xiaofeng Undergo Brainwashing

Ms. Yang Xiaofeng, in her 50s, was taken to a brainwashing session by staff from the Songchu Production Team about 20 days ago. Her relative said, “She was taken to a learning session and will have to study for a month.”

7. [Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Song Arrested

Ms. Song was arrested and is being held in the Hulunbuir City Detention Center.

8. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Xing Gezhen’s Arrest Officially Approved

Ms. Xing Gezhen’s arrest was officially approved after she was arrested. Her case is now submitted to the Yungang District Procuratorate.

9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jiao Xiaohua Held in Detention Center

Ms. Jiao Xiaohua is being held in the Mulan Detention Center.

She was arrested on March 5, 2022. Officers from the Hulan District Domestic Security Division took her to the Harbin No. 2 Detention Center the next day, but she was actually held in the Mulan County Detention Center. Her family was ordered on March 9 to transfer money to the Harbin No. 2 Detention Center. Her family did as they were told and transferred 1,000 yuan (approximately $157 USD). Three days later, the family was told again to hand in money, which the family did and submitted another 1,000 yuan.

10. [Chongqing] Mr. Deng Liping Held in the Yubei District Detention Center

Mr. Deng Liping is being held in the Yubei District Detention Center.
