Additional Persecution News from China – February 20, 2022 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yang Haixia and Ms. Li Shuchun Imprisoned
2. [Langzhong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. He Suhua Sentenced to One Year and Eight Months in Prison
3. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Yuhua Detained
4. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Lijie Imprisoned
5. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Shuangyan Dies During Detention
6. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Yanhua Arrested

1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yang Haixia and Ms. Li Shuchun Imprisoned

Ms. Yang Haixia and Ms. Li Shuchun from Dumeng County were taken to the Harbin Women’s Prison on January 7, 2022. Their families have not been allowed to visit them.

2. [Langzhong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. He Suhua Sentenced to One Year and Eight Months in Prison

Ms. He Suhua, in her 70s, was harassed by local police officers and community staff members in January 2021. She was pressured to sign a guarantee statement, which she refused to do. She was later arrested at home and sentenced to one year and eight months in prison. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Yuhua Detained

Laozhan Police Station officers called Ms. Liu Yuhua, 69, to the station on February 17, 2022. She went the next day and was taken to the Changliu Detention Center.

4. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Lijie Imprisoned

Ms. Liu Lijie was taken from the Jiamusi Detention Center to Heilongjiang Women’s Prison around 6 a.m. on February 18, 2022.

5. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Shuangyan Dies During Detention

Ms. Li Shuangyan from the Xing’an District was arrested by officers from the Fuli Police Station and the Nanshan District Police Department on December 16, 2021. She died the next day at the age of 45.

6. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Yanhua Arrested

Ms. Wang Yanhua was arrested at home around 9 p.m. on February 18, 2022. Niu Bowen, head of the Huaiyang District Domestic Security Division; three of his officers; and officers from the Doumen Township Police Station ransacked her home and confiscated over 20 Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, USB drives, cell phones, etc. They also confiscated her daughter’s personal belongings, including her ID card, bank card, cell phone, and a handbag. Ms. Wang is being detained in the police department.

7. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Guojun Arrested

Mr. Li Guojun was arrested by officers from the Wenhua East Road Police Station in the Lixia District on February 17, 2022, for distributing truth-clarifying materials. He was denied admission to the detention center due to his poor health and was released on bail pending trial later that day.

8. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Guilan Harassed

Ms. Sun Guilan lives in Tangfang Village, Chicheng Town, Chicheng County. Six officers from Huailai County and Chicheng County went to her home on February 18, 2022. She was not at home but her son was. They ransacked the place and confiscated all her Falun Gong books. They told him to tell his mother to go to the police station and that he would be fired from his job if he didn’t cooperate.

9. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Kong Qingju Arrested

Ms. Kong Qingjiu was arrested at home by officers in the Jiangyuan District on February 16, 2022. Her home was ransacked. Her laptop and other personal belongings were confiscated.

10. [Beijing] Ms. Lang Dongyue and Ms. Li Manying Arrested and Detained

Ms. Li Manying from Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, and Ms. Lang Dongyue from Yuanqing County, Beijing, were arrested on December 14, 2021. They were first detained for 15 days in the Zhangjiakou Detention Center. Ms. Li Manying was then transferred to the Dahuangzhuang Brainwashing Center and Ms. Lang Dongyue was transferred to the Zhangjiakou Detention Center on December 30, 2021.

Ms. Li Manying was released on January 29, 2022.
