Additional Persecution News from China – November 22, 2022 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Li Jia Faces Trial

Li Jia (gender unknown) from Qingshan District was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong in a tourist area in Lichuan City in July 2020 and was arrested. Li Jia will be tried in the Lishan City Court on December 1, 2022.

2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Lizhuang Tortured in Prison

Mr. Li Lizhuang was tortured by guards and inmates in the No. 1 Assembly Ward of Hulan Prison from February to May 2022. He was verbally abused, beaten, shocked with electric batons, sprayed with pepper spray, and pricked with needles. 

Mr. Li Changzhu from Tonghe City and two other practitioners were also detained in the prison at that time.

3. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Xu Shoufu Sentenced to One Year in Prison

At least ten practitioners including Mr. Xu Shoufu were arrested on July 13, 2022. Mr. Xu was sentenced to one year in prison by the Nanfen District Court on November 18, 2022.

4. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhai Yanan Tried in Court

Ms. Zhai Yanan was tried in the Shushan District Court at 3 p.m. on November 11, 2022. The prosecutor, Li Weihua, said that the surveillance camera caught Ms. Zhai saying the words, “Falun Dafa is good” to people on the street.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Runrong Arrested and Detained

Ms. Wang Runrong, 61, from the Chaoyang District, was arrested on July 27, 2022. She was detained in the Tongzhou District Detention Center and has since been transferred to the Shunyi District Detention Center.

6. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Zhang Yuehong Persecuted

Zhang Yuehong (gender unknown) was arrested by officers in the Dongchangfu District Domestic Security Division and local police station on June 11, 2022. Zhang was detained and released on July 26, 2022. Zhang’s case is now being processed in the judicial system.

7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhou Jinhui Harassed

Three or four people from the local police station and the Dahaiyang Neighborhood Committee in Zhifu District went to Ms. Zhou Jinhui’s home on the morning of November 4, 2022. Ms. Zhou did not open the door. They called Ms. Zhou’s husband that afternoon and pressured Ms. Zhou to sign a guarantee statement.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Niu Zhanhua Arrested

Mr. Niu Zhanhua, from Sanjiazi Village, Xiushuihezi Town, Faku County, was arrested by officers from the Xiushuihezi Town Police Station on November 17, 2022 for distributing desktop calendars with information about Falun Gong.

9. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Zhang Ping Arrested

Zhang Ping (gender unknown) from the Wanghua District was arrested on November 21, 2022 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Zhang was released later.
