Practitioners in Jakarta Held a Gathering to Call for an End to the Persecution in China

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held a peaceful event in the Jakarta business district on Saturday afternoon, December 17, 2022. The practitioners held banners calling for the immediate end to the persecution of Falun Gong, aka Falun Dafa. The persecution has continued in China for the past 23 years.

Jiang Zemin, then leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), launched the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999. Since then, Falun Gong practitioners in China have been arrested, detained, threatened, tortured, beaten to death and even had their organs harvested while still alive.

Mr. Gatot Machali, the spokesperson for the Indonesian Falun Dafa Association, said in his opening remarks, “We cannot continue to tolerate the crimes against humanity and genocide that the CCP is committing against Falun Gong practitioners. The international community must take a stand and call for a stop to these criminal acts. This is also for the good of the criminals, as the universal principles teaches us that people who strive to be kind will receive blessings, while the those committing evil will face retribution.”

Although it kept raining that afternoon, the event went on as scheduled and concluded successfully. Many of the citizens who passed by the Falun Dafa booth gave a thumbs up to show their support, and many were happy to accept materials.
