Additional Persecution News from China – November 12, 2022 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Xinan County, Henan Province] Ms. Yao Xiaoyun Faces Indictment

Ms. Yao Xiaoyun was arrested by officers from the Xinan County Police Department on July 15, 2022. She has been held in the Jianxi Detention Center in Luoyang City for three months. She faces indictment. Her parents, in their 80s, brought her winter clothes to the detention center many times. But guards refused to take them and used the pandemic as an excuse.

2. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Mr. Nie Zhongpo Abused in Prison

Mr. Nie Zhongpo, around 50, of Lishu County, was transferred to the Gongzhuling Prison from the Jilin No. 2 Prison. Because he didn’t “transform”, i.e. renounce Falun Gong, the prison Education Session put him in a cell in the 8th Ward, where inmate took turns watching him, did not allow him to sleep or even close his eyes for five successive days. Guard Shen Xudong sprayed chili pepper water into his eyes, and tried to force him to sign “five statements” renouncing Falun Gong. 

He was transferred to the 2nd District Team in the 9th Ward. Two “transformed” former practitioners, Liu Dapeng and Feng Kunwen, forced him to watch videos that defamed Falun Gong every day. He poured half a cup of water on the video player. The player stopped. He was dragged to the guards’ office and was incarcerated in a strict management cell for three months. He was forced to sit every day on a three-inch wide bench, and suffered severe buttock pain. He was beaten whenever he moved his body. He developed scabies all over his body. He is still being held in the Gongzhuling Prison.

3. [Fuyu County, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Huanli Detained

Mr. Wang Huanli was arrested at home by officers from the Fuyu City Domestic Security Division and the Wanfa Town Police Station in July 2022. He is now held in the Fuyu Detention Center. Guards do not allow his family to visit him.

He was held in the detention center in July 2021. He went on a hunger strike and was released after he was in critical condition.

4. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Li Yanyun Faces Trial

Ms. Li Yanyun, 81, will be tried by the Xishan District Court at 9:30 a.m. on November 16, 2022.

Officer Ma and officer Yang from the Donglu Police Station collected “evidence” on the evening of November 10. They had surveillance video which was collected from cameras in front of her home.

5. [Beijing] Liu Zhihua Sentenced

Liu Zhihua (gender unknown) was taken to the Fengtai Detention Center by clerks from the Fengtai Court on December 17, 2021. Liu was sentenced to ten months in prison on December 20, 2021. The prison term was completed in October 2022.

6. [Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Tian Haitao and His Family Members Harassed

Mr. Tian Haitao was fired from his work, the Agricultural Bank of Fujin City, in 2000 for appealing in Beijing in 1999 for the right to practice Falun Gong. Afterwards, he was either arrested or harassed at home by police on each of the “sensitive dates”. In order to avoid CCP agents harassing him and his family, he left town. 

His brother, sister, child, and other family members were repeatedly harassed by agents from the Fujin 610 Office from 2021 to 2022. Ordered by the Jiamusi City 610 Office, they tried to learn where he was as a part of the “zero out” campaign aimed at forcing all practitioners to renounce Falun Gong.

7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Anhua Harassed

Ms. Chen Anhua was repeatedly harassed at home or through phone calls from Yao Xiaohui, secretary of Hubin Community, Changle County. Xiao tried to force her to sign statements renouncing Falun Gong and do it in front of a video camera. Her husband was so frightened that he had a stroke. Yao went to her home and harassed her again in the second half of September. Her husband was scared and had another stroke. He was admitted to hospital twice and was hospitalized for a month.

8. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Xiaocui Detained

Ms. Wang Xiaocui of Youyi County was arrested by officers from the Youyi County Police Department in October 2022. She has been held in the Jixian County Detention Center.

9. [Yingyang City, Henan Province] Two Practitioners Arrested, One Detained

Ms. Wang Guizi was harassed by officers from the Yingyang City Police Department before July 20, 2022. The officers told her that Yingyang City was under their surveillance.

Ms. Ma Hua and Ms. Gao E went to her home on July 25. Within ten minutes, more than ten officers from the Yulong Town Police Station broke in, arrested them, and took them to the police station. They extorted 500 yuan from Ms. Ma, and 1,000 yuan from Ms. Wang. The three practitioners’ homes were ransacked. Their Falun Gong books, pictures of Falun Gong’s founder, Falun Gong printouts, computers, exercise music players, and other items, were taken. Ms. Ma was detained for ten days. Ms. Ma and Ms. Gao were released the same day.

10. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Xu Jianhua Arrested and Hospitalized

Mr. Xu Jianhua was arrested by officers from the Wuyi County Police Department. His son was arrested at the same time and held as a hostage (they said he would be released if his father renounced Falun Gong). Mr. Xu’s blood pressure surged in 24 hours. He has since been hospitalized in the Hengshui City No. 4 Hospital. 

11. [Xiaogan City, Hebei Province] Additional News on Mr. Luo Xiaogang’s Arrest

Mr. Luo Xiaogang was arrested at his workplace, China Mobile, by more then ten officers from the Xiaonan Domestic Security Division and the Xinhua Police Station after 3:00 p.m. on November 10, 2022. They took him to his home in Yujicheng and ransacked the place. They seized dozens of Falun Gong books and other items. He was taken to the police station for interrogation. He did not come home that night.

12. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Additional News on Ms. Liu Changxia’s Arrest

Ms. Liu Changxia talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong and distributed desk calendars, which had information about Falun Gong, on the morning of November 10, 2022. Some one reported her to the Qiaotou Police Station. Two officers traced her and arrested her. She was taken to the police station. Agents from the Huancui District 610 Office and three officers from the Wenquan Police Station ransacked her home, seized her computers, paper cutter, keepsakes, mini-players, and other items. She was taken to a detention center. She was released after 5:00 p.m. because her blood pressure was over 160 mmHg.
