Additional Persecution News from China – November 4, 2022 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 18 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Tianjin] Ms. Guo Baohua Arrested and Detained

Ms. Guo Baohua from Tanggu in the Binhai New District was arrested by officers from the Zhangguizhuang Police Station on September 9, 2022. She has been held in the Zhangguizhuang Detention Center for nearly two months.

2. [Handan City, Hebei Province] The Cases Against Mr. Ji Ruiling and Ms. Liu Yantao Submitted to the Procuratorate

Mr. Ji Ruiling was arrested while he was working in the Mingren Hospital at 3 p.m. on July 18, 2022. His home was ransacked. He has been held in the No. 2 Detention Center. Ms. Liu Yantao was arrested when she visited a practitioner. The cases against the two practitioners have been submitted to the Feixiang District Procuratorate.

3. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] The Case Against Ms. Tong Jinping Submitted to the Court

Ms. Tong Jinping from Yongquan Township of Chaisang District was arrested on June 16, 2022. She has been detained in the Jiujiang Detention Center since then. Her case was submitted to the Yongxiu County Procuratorate in September 2022 and is now in the Yongxiu County Court.

4. [Shanghai] Ms. Li Hong Arrested

Ms. Li Hong was placed under official arrest by the Putuo District Procuratorate on October 15, 2022. She was sent to the Jing’an District Detention Center.

5. [Shanghai] Ms. Xie Hongzhu Detained

Ms. Xie Hongzhu, around 70, has been held in the Baoshan Detention Center for over a month.

6. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Qingfang Arrested

Ms. Wang Qingfang was arrested at home on October 24, 2022. She is being held in the Zibo City Detention Center.

7. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Cao Yanchun Harassed

Two officers from the Nanchentun Police Station in Yunhe District called the son of Cao Yanchun (gender unknown) on September 6, 2022. Then they went to Cao Yanchun’s home, entered it and photographed it.

8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Miao Jiaming Harassed

Two people from the Wujin Town government in Xinjin District went to the home of Miao Jiaming (gender unknown) on the afternoon of October 14, 2022. They pressured Miao to sign a guarantee statement and claimed Miao’s state of bail pending trial would be removed if Miao signed. Miao refused to do so.

The same two people returned to Miao’s home on the afternoon of October 19, 2022. They asked for Miao’s ID, pressured Miao to sign on a blank paper or write a few words such as promising not to distribute information about Falun Gong. They wanted to take a photo of Miao, who refused to cooperate.

9. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Su Guiying Submits a Petition to the Court

Ms. Su Guiying was sentenced to four years in prison by the Zhanjiang City Court in August 2016. Her pension was withheld by the Mazhang District Social Security Bureau after she was released in August 2020. Ms. Su sued the social security bureau, but was not able to have her pension reinstated. She appealed with the Zhanjiang Intermediate Court. She has now submitted a petition to the intermediate court and requested to have the criminal ruling against her revoked.

10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Qu Xuexiang Arrested and Detained

Qu Xuexiang (gender unknown), who lives in Jinsebalicheng, Erdao District, was arrested at home by officers from the Jinqianbao Police Station a week ago. Qu has been held in the No. 4 Detention Center of Changchun City.

11. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Persecuted

Yang Dongyun was reported to police for posting stickers and was arrested by officers from the Haixing Police Station in the Bayuquan District on September 18, 2022. Yang’s home was ransacked. Yang was held for 10 days in the Yingkou City Detention Center.

Tian Fengyun was reported to police for talking about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Haixing Police Station on October 4, 2022. Tian’s home was ransacked, and he or she was held for 15 days in the Yingkou City Detention Center.

Wang Huijie was reported to the police for talking about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Haixing Police Station on October 23, 2022. Wang was released later that day.

Duan Xiurong was arrested by officers from the Shuangtaizi Township Police Station on October 26, 2022 for distributing desk calendars bearing information about Falun Gong in Shuangtaizi Township, Gaizhou City. Duan was released later that day.

12. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Tong Ruiqing Detained

Tong Ruiqing was taken to the Wanti Detention Center in Daming County.

13. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Hongxia Taken to ICU after Court Rejects Her Application to Serve Sentence Outside Prison

Ms. Liu Hongxia, 47, was extremely weak and laying in a chair when she was tried in the Ganjingzi District Court on July 13, 2022. She was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 40,000 yuan. After the trial, Ms. Liu was taken to the ICU. The court also rejected her application to serve the sentence outside prison.

14. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wu Haibo Faces Trial

Mr. Wu Haibo from Xiashan District has been subjected to forced labor and was sentenced to prison twice. He has been detained for a total of 11 years. He returned home in December 2020.

Mr. Wu was reported to police for giving information about Falun Gong to a neighbor and was arrested on March 5, 2022. He has been detained in the Zhanjiang City Detention Center.

The case against him was submitted to the Chikan District Procuratorate on July 1, 2022 and was later transferred to the Chikan District Court on July 26, 2022. He may face trial at the end of November 2022.
