(Minghui.org) Six Falun Gong practitioners in Wenling City, Zhejiang Province were arrested on September 8, 2022, and taken to a brainwashing center. Three of them remain in custody and are being subjected to continued persecution.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The arrests of Mr. Lin Guilai, Ms. Lin Huiguo, Ms. Han Ping, Ms. Lin Guilian, Ms. Xu Jin’e, and Ms. Xu Jinli were ordered by the Wenling City 610 Office and Political and Legal Affairs Committee, two agencies tasked with overseeing the persecution. The practitioners were taken to the brainwashing center located in the Hengshan Militia Training Base the same day. They were monitored around the clock and intimidated.
After a month of detention, the practitioners’ residential committees began to threaten them and attempted to use their family affection to make them renounce their faith. When the practitioners refused to comply, the authorities forced them to fingerprint prepared statements renouncing Falun Gong. Some officers signed the practitioners’ names on their behalf.
At the time of writing, Mr. Lin, Ms. Lin Huiguo, and Ms. Xu Jin’e have been released and the other three practitioners are still detained.
In addition to the six practitioners, three more practitioners who were arrested on November 30, 2021, including Ms. Bao Lingling, Ms. Wang Mei, and Jinpin (whose last name isn’t known), have been held at the Wenling City Detention Center since their arrests.
