My Experience of Reaching Out to Public Officials in Xi'an

(Minghui.org) Xi’an was the ancient imperial capital of China for several ruling dynasties. Historically, the people of the Kuan-Chung plain were unpretentious, warm, and sincere. However, after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) usurped power, Xi’an fell into moral decay, and many public officials have carried out Jiang Zemin’s (the former CCP leader) persecution of Falun Dafa.

Xi'an, like many regions in China, is now dealing with a new outbreak of COVID-19. This has brought on chaos, as there are tighter governmental restrictions and food shortages as a result.

From December 28 to 30, 2021, the Global Telephone Rescue Platform launched the “Xi’an project,” which lasted for three days. Falun Dafa practitioners phoned people in Xi’an to clarify the truth and helped awaken the conscience of public officials involved in the persecution.

Master Li Hongzhi said,

“...just treat all beings with compassion, and just clarify the facts to people with compassion, and you will be safeguarding Dafa’s dignity, and you’ll be able to safeguard Dafa’s dignity.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World Volume III)

I realized that I had not yet completely let go of my attachments and could not reach a high level of compassion, but I can be kind. It was easier for people to accept my words if I cared for them and put myself in their shoes.

Master Li also said,

“When I was just speaking about “the truth,” a great deal was encompassed by that term. When we use it nowadays, we’re referring to how we tell people about the evil’s cooking up lies in order to persecute Falun Gong; to what the wicked CCP is really all about; to why Falun Gong is being persecuted; and then there’s the topic of what exactly Falun Gong is, which people are talking about, and this truth is hard for people to grasp.” (“2012 International Fa Conference at the U.S. Capital”)

To follow Master’s requirements, I strove to clarify the truth thoroughly in all four aspects.

I told people about the staged “self-immolation” incident on Tiananmen Square. During that propaganda campaign, the CCP was able to effectively poison public opinion and incite hatred against Falun Dafa. Exposing this lie was key to making people aware that the CCP has always been deceiving people.

I called the Municipal Police Department, and a female police officer answered. I said in a soft tone, “Greetings, the pandemic in Xi’an is quite serious at the moment and somewhat similar to Wuhan. We are all thinking of you and would like to tell you the best advice that helped saved many people in Wuhan. We hope you can make it through this one safely.”

She said she was going out on duty and would hand the phone to a colleague. She also reminded me that this number was to address public concerns, and I could not take up too much time.

When her colleague picked up the phone, I repeated what I had just said and continued, “Chinese history tells us that such catastrophes happen when a society’s moral standards decline tremendously. Especially when there is a persecution that targets people of faith.

“Falun Dafa is a high-level Buddha Law. The CCP staged the self-immolation incident, fabricated 1,400 death cases, and concocted other lies to deceive people and make them turn against practitioners of a righteous Buddha Law. This campaign has utilized the entire public security apparatus and judicial system to carry out the persecution.

“Torture and live organ harvesting have claimed many practitioners’ lives. This persecution is not only an unprecedented catastrophe for Falun Dafa practitioners, but also a disaster for the Chinese people.

“Communism is an evil specter from the West, whose originator, Marx, vowed to destroy mankind in two ways: first, destroy human morality; and second, deprive mankind of faith.

“Since the CCP took power in 1949, it has destroyed the Chinese people’s 5000 year tradition of morality and faith, and has claimed more than 80 million lives during various political campaigns. In addition, millions of forced abortions were carried out under the CCP’s 'family planning' policies.”

I then told her that the CCP spent more than 20 billion yuan of taxpayers’ money to build the Internet firewall, and the annual maintenance cost of this censorship amounts to over 10 billion yuan.

If the public prosecutors and those in law enforcement knew that Falun Dafa was a high-level Buddha Fa that is practiced in over 100 countries and regions around the world, they would not have participated in the persecution.

I continued, “Is there a way out? Yes, first of all, we must understand the truth and get rid of the public hostility toward Falun Dafa.

“The Tao (Great Way of the universe) provides checks and balances for a society, not any political party. The CCP relies on violence and killing to stay in power and will be eliminated by Heaven. Time is not reserved for the CCP to continue doing evil, but for the Chinese people to wake up and save themselves. Only by understanding the truth can one be saved by Heaven.”

I gave her the address to the Epoch Times website and recommended that she read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and The Ultimate Goal of Communism.

I concluded by telling her that there were three things she could do to stay safe amid the pandemic: recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good;” withdraw from the Communist Party, Youth League and Young Pioneers; and do not participate in the persecution of Falun Dafa.

She asked, “Won’t I lose my job if I withdraw?” I told her that it was okay to use an alias to quit on the Epoch Times website. She thanked me.

Most of our phone calls were to the police or public services and many of them were polite.

For example, a call was made to the Narcotics Bureau. The man who answered the phone asked sternly, “Who’s calling?” When I told him that reciting “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” could save his life, his attitude changed dramatically, “You are Falun Dafa! Thank you! Thank you! I will keep it in mind.”

There was also a deputy chief procuratorate who, after I called him several times, listened to me for 10 minutes.

The three-day special project is now over. The powerful field of our righteous thoughts, as well as Master’s strengthening enabled many people to learn the truth and be saved.

This project has also helped in my cultivation. I will advance more diligently on my path, help save more people, and follow Master home.
