(Minghui.org) Five people in my hometown in Hebei Province were operated on for stomach cancer in Qinhuangdao Seaport Hospital in July 2014. One of them was Mr. Zhao, who was considered to be in the most serious condition. The doctors thought he had less than a year left. In fact, the other four people have long since passed away, and only Mr. Zhao is still alive and healthy.
Mr. Zhao is 63 years old and has three children. He worked hard all his life to support his family. Seven years ago, his stomach started to ache after he ate, and then he started to vomit after eating. He was diagnosed with end-stage stomach cancer, which had already spread to nearby organs.
He was only 56 then, and his family felt like the sky was falling. To try to save him, they emptied their savings account and borrowed a lot of money for him to have the surgery.
He still felt awful after the surgery and wasn’t able to eat, kept alive with only a nasogastric feeding tube. He was weak and in severe pain. He took a lot of painkillers, but they offered little relief. He went to see a fortuneteller who told him that he had about six months left. He began preparing for his final resting place.
One day, he went to a pharmacy with his family. The owners were a couple who practiced Falun Dafa. Seeing him in such misery, they advised him to sincerely recite the auspicious phrases “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” They told him about many people who’d recovered from all kinds of ailments by reciting the phrases.
Mr. Zhao and his wife were very happy to hear that. They felt hopeful again. The pharmacy owners also said, “It is fate that we met today. We hope you will get well soon.”
Mr. Zhao and his wife went to the pharmacy many times after that. They learned more about Falun Dafa and the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They quit the CCP and its organizations. Mr. Zhao had been diligently saying the phrases daily whenever he had the chance and his improvement was noticeable. He was able to eat congee and he could swallow without any problem.
One day, a police chief came to his village to investigate a Falun Dafa practitioner. Mr. Zhao responded, “You guys need to leave! Falun Dafa practitioners do not do anything illegal. Why do you go after them all the time! I cannot help you with any information. Bye!”
He went back to the hospital for a follow-up in the fall of 2019. The oncologist was dumbfounded: “You are still alive after six years! You look healthy! Which hospital did you go to? What did they prescribe?”
Mr. Zhao laughed out loud: “I did not take anything—I got better by saying, ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’” His wife added, “He still says the phrases diligently. It really works! He is able to work just like he used to.” All the doctors were impressed.
