(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 45 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yishui City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Xizheng Tried Again

Mr. Zhang Xizheng of Yishui City was arrested in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province on January 25, 2021. He was tried again on July 27, 2021, after his first trial on July 7, 2021.

2. [Luoding City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Shen Xuemei Sentenced

Ms. Shen Xuemei was sentenced to two years in prison by the Yunfu City Intermediate Court on July 12, 2021.

3. [Shanghai] Ms. Lin Qiupeng Faces Trial

Ms. Lin Qiupeng will be tried by the Fengxian District Court on the afternoon of July 28, 2021.

4. [Beijing] Eleven Practitioners Face Trial

Ms. Xu Na, Mr. Li Zongze, Ms. Zheng Yujie, Mr. Li Lixin, Ms. Zheng Yanmei, Ms. Deng Jingjing, Zhang Renfei (gender unknown), Mr. Liu Qiang, Ms. Meng Qingxia, Li Jiaxuan (gender unknown), and Ms. Jiao Mengjiao have been incarcerated for over a year since they were arrested on July 19, 2020. The Dongcheng District Court will hear their case on the morning of August 19, 2021.

5. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhao Mingying Detained

Ms. Zhao Mingying was arrested by officers from the Fulong Township Police Station and the Domestic Security Division. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Pengxi County Detention Center. 

6. [Wei County, Hebei Province] Practitioners Harassed

Practitioners in Liujiazhuang Village were photographed and questioned by three officers from the Daiwangcheng Town Police Station, one of them known as Xu Xiaokun, on the afternoon of July 25, 2021. They were reading Zhuan Falun in a practitioner’s home. The officers seized more than 10 copies of Zhuan Falun.

Song Nairong (gender unknown) from Chengqiangnian Village was harassed and photographed at home by Xu Xiaokun and two other officers from the Daiwangcheng Town Police Station on July 2, 2021. 

7. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gao Peiqin Faces Indictment

Ms. Gao Peiqin, in her 80s, was harassed at home by plainclothes officers from the Hedong Police Station at the end of May 2021. The officers claimed they were sent by the Nanfen District Procuratorate to verify her case. She replied that she did not break any laws. They ransacked her home and ordered her to sign. She refused. A week later, several officers came back and harassed her again. They said she would face trial.

She was notified that she was formally arrested by two officers from the Hedong Police Station on July 12, 2021.

8. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Xu Jinfeng and Ms. Xu Genyuan Detained

Ms. Xu Jinfeng and Ms. Xu Genyuan were arrested and detained on July 23, 2021. Their homes were ransacked.

9. [Macheng City, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Tao Lahuai, Mr. Wu Shuangxi, and Huang Jiaju (gender unknown) were arrested by officers from the Longchi Police Station on the afternoon of July 22, 2021, when they were reading a Falun Gong book in an elderly practitioner’s home. They are being held at the Macheng No. 2 Detention Center.

10. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Chuanyong Harassed

Mr. Zhang Chuanyang, who works at the Jinan City Broadcast University in Zhangqiu, received a second call from his boss, general service office director Guo Jijun, on the morning of July 25, 2021. Guo ordered him to attend a “training” in the “House of Love” at 8:30 a.m. on July 26. He knew the “training” was a brainwashing session and refused. He received a call from vice president Ma Yeli for the same “training” on the same day. He refused his request.

On the morning of July 26, Guo called and ordered him to meet the school president. He went but it was agents from the Jinan Political and Legal Affairs Committee who wanted to talk to him and pressure him to attend their brainwashing sessions.

On the evening of July 26, his wife received a call from Guo who demanded she continue the “education session” in the school. She refused.

11. [Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province] Li Guanying Detained

Li Guanying (gender unknown) has been detained since the end of March 2021. Li is being held in the Deqing County Detention Center.

12. [Nanbu County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ma Qingchun Arrested

Ms. Ma Qingchun was arrested at home on July 21, 2021. The police broke her door.

13. [Yaan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Lan Harassed

Ms. Li Lan was harassed at home by eight people from the police station, the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and the Domestic Security Division. They ordered her to write and sign three statements denouncing Falun Gong. She refused. They called her in the afternoon and ordered her to report and write the “statements” in the police station on the morning of July 26. They threatened to send her to a detention center if she did not comply.

14. [Qilu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Kou Hui Detained

Ms. Kou Hui was arrested by officers from the Hushan Police Station before July 1, 2021. She was detained for 15 days in the Zhangdian District Detention Center.

15. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Yanxia and Xiaojinzi Tried in Court

Ms. Yang Yanxia and Xiaojinzi (nickname, gender unknown) of Dehui City were tried by the Changchun City Court on July 26, 2021. The court decision was said to be available in a week.

16. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Li Yuelan Detained

Ms. Li Yuelan was arrested in early July 2021. She is being held in the Hefei City Detention Center.

17. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Li Incarcerated

Ms. Yang Li is being incarcerated in the “sick ward brigade” located on the corner of Qingming Street and Beian Road. She was tried on July 20, 2021.

18. [Jinzhoug City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Xiujie Imprisoned

Ms. Chen Xiujie was taken to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison from the Jinzhou Women’s Detention Center on July 22, 2021.

She was arrested by officers from the Goubangzi Police Station on February 12, 2020, for reading Falun Gong books with two practitioners in her home. Her home was ransacked. She was released on bail.

She was arrested at home again by officers from the Goubangzi Police Station on October 14, 2020. She was held at the Jinzhon Women’s Detention Center and was sentenced to two years in prison by the Linghai City Court.

19. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Tian Lili and Ms. Li Ping in Police Custody

Ms. Tian Lili and Ms. Li Ping were arrested on the afternoon of July 27, 2021, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Police ransacked Ms. Tian’s home around 4:00 p.m. Her aunt went to the Zhanqian Police Station to appeal for her release. Officers denied she was held there. Police ransacked Ms. Li’s home around 8:00 p.m. Ms. Tian and Ms. Li are being held at the Zhanqian Police Station.

20. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yulan in Police Custody

Ms. Wang Yulan was given 15 days of administrative detention. When her term was over on the morning of July 25, 2021, she was intercepted at the gate of the Jinzhou Detention Center by two officers from the Taihe Police Department. The officers handcuffed her and took her away. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

21. [Pingjiang County, Hunan Province] Mr. Xu Kuanhou Arrested

Mr. Xu Kuanhou from Pingjiang County was arrested in Changsha County by officers from the Xingsha Police Station on the evening of July 26, 2021. Details are unknown.

22. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wang Hong Detained

Ms. Wang Hong was released on bail for medical reasons, but she was arrested at home by officers from the Jiangcun Town Police Station and Huyi District 610 Office on July 2, 2021. She is being held in the Lianhu District Detention Center. 

23. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yu Meihua and Ms. Zhou Weihong Harassed

Ms. Yu Meihua and her daughter, Ms. Zhou Weihua, were harassed and photographed at home by officers from the police station and clerks from the community around 10 a.m. on July 23, 2021. 

24. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Li Zhenrong Arrested

Li Zhenrong (gender unknown) was arrested by officers from the Dongyuan Police Station around 10 a.m. on July 15, 2021, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Li was released and picked up by his or her daughter at noon.

25. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Jia Jianhuai and Ms. Xiao Hongmei Detained

Mr. Jia Jianhuai and his wife, Ms. Xiao Hongmei, disappeared in mid-July 2021. Their family finally learned that they were arrested at home by officers from the Tuanjiexincun Police Station. Their home was ransacked and they are being held in the Taoshuping Detention Center.

26. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Mao Jiaping Formally Arrested

Ms. Mao Jiaping was arrested by officers from the Baiyunjie Police Station on June 2, 2021. On July 7, officers from the Bayilu Police Station notified her family that the Xigang District Procuratorate issued an arrest warrant against her.
