1. [Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yang Jinyan Persecuted in Prison

The family of Ms. Yang Jinyan received a letter from the Guangdong Women’s Prison in May 2021 and learned that Ms. Yang developed third-stage hypertension and gallstones while imprisoned.

Ms. Yang was arrested on April 21, 2019. She was sentenced to three years in prison on December 12, 2019. She was detained in the local detention center until she was taken to the Guangdong Province Women’s Prison at the end of 2020. Her family was allowed to visit her once in the detention center. She looked fine. After she was detained in the prison, her family has not been allowed to visit her.

2. [Tengzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Sijing Arrested

Ms. Liu Sijing was arrested by three officers from the Domestic Security Division on the morning of June 24, 2021. She was accused of posting “fake” information online. It is unknown where Ms. Liu is detained.

3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Sun Jianzhong Faces Trial

Mr. Sun Jianzhong from the Fengren District was arrested on July 22, 2020. He will be tried in Hall 7 of the Zunhua Court at 9 a.m. on July 2, 2021. 

4. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Six Practitioners Harassed

Several Falun Gong practitioners in Jinchang City were harassed from July 2020 to June 2021. The harassment was led by 610 Office heads Wang Shijiang and Fan Chunde. Even the practitioners who did not live in the city were harassed.

Ms. He Binying recently went to her daughter’s home in Northeast China to take care of her grandchildren. Her husband Mr. Wei Anyue was harassed at home by seven officers from the Jinchuan Road Police Station several days ago. He was pressured to sign the three statements on behalf of his wife, which he refused. Then, two people from the Jinchuan Road Police Station and the Jinyangli Community traveled a long way to Changchun City, Jilin Province. They found Ms. He and pressured her to sign the three statements, which she refused. They contacted Ms. He’s daughter who also refused to sign on her mother's behalf. They reported Ms. He to the local police station and the local community. They even traveled a long distance outside of Changchun City to harass Ms. He’s son-in-law at his workplace. 

Ms. Cao Fang has been harassed at home since June 1, 2021. She was pressured to sign the three statements, which she refused. 

Mr. Wang Shushen and his brother were harassed many times recently. They were unable to conduct training classes. A government document from the Human Resources Bureau of Jinchuan District was posted on the door of the classroom that stated illegal schooling was banned. In fact, Mr. Wang and his brother are just holding recruitment training sessions.

Practitioner Sun (first name and gender unknown) was arrested by several officers from the Jiaojiazhuang Police Station in Yongchang County and was taken to the Jinchuan District Police Department. Sun had an accident and was sent to a hospital for an infusion. Sun was released later.

Ms. Wei Xiulan, nearly 70, has been harassed several times by local community staff members. She refused to sign the three statements. Her daughter who works in Tianjin and was far away from Jinchang City also received harassing phone calls. 

5. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Three Family Members Arrested 

Mr. Wu Qianwan, 54, lives in the Xinghehaoyue Community, Yanjiao Town with his wife 46-year-old Ms. Wang Aiying and his daughter 12-year-old Wu Lina. Several officers went to his home in a police van around 3:20 p.m. on June 24, 2021. They broke the lock and forcibly entered his home. They confiscated the family's printers and all their truth-clarifying materials. 

Ms. Wang Aiying was handcuffed and taken away in a police car around 4:30 p.m. that day. Mr. Wu was taken by police to pick up her daughter. All three members of the family were arrested, including their 12-year-old child.

6. [Yanbian City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Still Detained After Being Held in a Brainwashing Center

More than 40 practitioners were held in a brainwashing center in Wugong Village, which was set up by the Tumen City 610 Office. Currently, three practitioners including Ms. Zhang Shuqin and Ms. Wang Hui were transferred to Yanji. The rest were released. 

7. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Hong’e Released after Hunger Strike

Ms. Chen Hong’e was observed by surveillance cameras when she posted truth-clarification stickers. She was arrested at her home by officers from the Kangtai Police Station in Zhongshan City. Her home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books were confiscated. 

Ms. Chen was detained in the Zhongshan City Detention Center. She started a hunger strike and was later sent to a hospital. After she was unable to take care of herself, her family was allowed to bring her home. 

8. [Xiajin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Mo Xinzhong Detained

Mr. Mo Xinzhong is now detained in the Gaotang County Detention Center, Liaocheng City.

9. [Meihekou City, Jilin Province] Mr. Shi Xingjia Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Mr. Shi Xingjia was sentenced to five years in prison. He is currently detained in the No. 6 Team, No. 9 Ward of Gongzhuling Prison. He has no family members to visit him. 

10. [Shenze County, Hebei Province] Mr. Peng Jingjun Harassed

Five officers from the Chengqu Police Station went to Mr. Peng Jingjun’s home in Pengzhaozhuang Village around 6 a.m., June 20, 2021. They searched for him but did not find him. His mother, in her 80s, was pressured to provide her son’s information but she refused.

Mr. Peng was arrested in August 2020 for talking about Falun Gong and was released on bail pending trial. His case was submitted to the Jinzhou City court and he was summoned to the court on December 2, 2020. Mr. Peng did not go. Instead he left home and has become displaced.

11. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yan Shufang Harassed

Ms. Yan Shufang, in her 80s, was harassed at her home by four officers from the Daozhan Police Station and the Tonghua City Domestic Security Division around 10 a.m. on June 23, 2021. They confiscated one Falun Gong book and a calendar. 

12. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Shuyin Arrested 

Several officers from the Guangming District Police Department went to Mr. Zhang Shuyin’s home on June 11, 2021. They left after finding that Mr. Zhang was not at home. 

13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Wang Liwei Arrested

Wang Liwei (gender unknown) was arrested on June 23, 2021.

14. [Linjiang City, Jilin Province] 82-year-old Ms. Gao Xiuyun Arrested

Ms. Gao Xiuyun, 82, was arrested around 3 p.m. on June 21, 2021. She is currently detained in the Baishan City Detention Center. 

15. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Huarong Arrested

Ms. Liu Huarong lives near Zhongshan Square. She was arrested in mid-June, 2021 and was taken to the Zhaohua Detention Center. 

16. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xue Lianxia Tried in Court

Ms. Xue Lianxia from the West Coast New District was tried in the Huangdao District Court on June 21, 2021. She is detained in the Dazhushan Police Station and will be kept in isolation for 14 days. 

17. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jia Keyun and Ms. Xing Yuqin Arrested

Ms. Jia Keyun and Ms. Xing Yuqi were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of May 18, 2021, when they were reading Zhuan Falun in Ms. Sun Xueqin’s home. They were released the next day. 

18. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Yinhui Harassed

Mr. Sun Yinhui from Zhanjia Village, Damujia Town, was arrested by officers from the Damujia Town Police Station on May 7, 2021. His home was ransacked. His personal belongings including all his Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong's founder, and a computer, were confiscated. Mr. Sun was detained in the Gaomi Detention Center for 7 days. He was fined 1,000 yuan and was released on bail with a deposit of 5,000 yuan. 

19. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cai Yucong and Ms. Bao Qinying Harassed

Officers from the Daxindian Police Station in Penglai City went to Ms. Cai Yucong’s home on May 19, 2021. They took photos of every room in her home. 

Ms. Gao Qinying was called to the local police station in mid-May 2021 and was pressured to sign a guarantee statement. 

20. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Wang Lintong Harassed

Wang Lintong (gender unknown) whose resident registration is in Chongqing City, stays in Jieyang City. Wang’s family members received a harassing call from Wang Shangqing, head of the Jiedong Domestic Security Division. Wang Shangqing wanted information such as, whether Wang Lintong stayed with other practitioners, visited other practitioners, how frequently Wang visited other practitioners, where those practitioners’ homes were, etc.

21. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xie Qingling and Mr. Gao Fangqiang Face Trial

Ms. Xie Qingling, 65, is retired from the Taian Fertilizer Plant. Mr. Gao Fangqiang, 51, is a small business owner. 

Ms. Xie and Mr. Gao were arrested by officers from the Taishan District Police Department and the related local police station on November 24, 2020, for distributing calendars that contained information about Falun Gong. They were detained in the Xintai Detention Center and the Taian Detention Center. Their family learned recently that they would be tried online by the Taishan District Court at 9 a.m., June 29, 2021. 

22. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Jingli Arrested

Six or seven people from the Jianguo Police Station in Daoli District and the local community went to the home of Ms. Wang Jingli around 7:30 a.m. on June 10, 2021. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong's founder, a computer and a cell phone. Ms. Wang was at home taking care of her three-year-old granddaughter. She was arrested after 8 a.m. along with another practitioner who was visiting her. 

23. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Three practitioners from the Chenglingji Residential District including Ms. Wang Mingying, Ms. Zhao Youlan, and Ms. Lai Hanmei were harassed by people from local police stations and the local community in early June 2021. Those people went to their homes to take photos and to tell the practitioners not to go out to distribute information about Falun Gong. 

24. [Botou City, Hebei Province] Nine Practitioners Harassed

Nine practitioners have been harassed at their homes in June by officers from the Gulou Police Station, the Hexi Police Station, the Hedong Police Station, and the Bozhen Police Station. They are Lan Yueyun, You Shufen, Ji Zhongxian, Cao Jingzhen, Gao Zhiying, Wang Shengjiang, Cai Guosheng, Sister Wang, and Zhao Yuqiao. Three of them are in their 80s and 90s. The officers demanded to know whether they still practiced Falun Gong. 

25. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Meng Qingcai Harassed

Mr. Meng Qingcai was harassed at home by local government official Geng Weiran and the deputy of the Wanchang Town Police Station in Yongji County on May 21, 2021. They searched Mr. Meng's house, tore down the couplets from the door, and pressured Mr. Meng’s family members to sign a guarantee statement. His family refused. 

Later, Xin Liwen, head of the Wanchang Town Police Station, came by with some officers. They ransacked Mr. Meng’s home again. 

26. [De’an County, Jiangxi Province] Ding Renmei Arrested

Ding Renmei (gender unknown), who works at a drugstore in De’an County, was arrested by local police on June 18, 2021. Ding’s home was ransacked. 

27. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

Four practitioners including Ms. Dong Shuqin, Ms. Jiang Jie, Ms. Sun Guiying, and Ms. Hu Yawen, were harassed at home in recent days. Several people from the Yingcheng Sub-district in Jiutai District and other government branches went to their homes and tried to make the practitioners or their family members sign guarantee statements. 

28. [Tianjin] Ms. Song Xiaoxia Arrested

Ms. Song Xiaoxia from the Nankai District was caught on surveillance camera when she hung some cards. She was arrested in May 2021 and her home was ransacked. Both her sets of Falun Gong books and two laptops were confiscated. Her family paid 20,000 yuan to bail her out. She was released on bail pending trial. 

29. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qi Fenglan Arrested 

Ms. Qi Fenglan from the Yuhong District was arrested around 4 p.m., June 22, 2021. She has been detained in the Huanghai Police Station in the Yuhong District.

30. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Xiong Shaowen and Gui Aidi Harassed

Three officers from the Gangkoujie Town Police Station in Caisang District went to Mr. Xiong Shaowen’s home at the beginning of June 2021. Mr. Xiong was not at home. They photographed every room with their body cameras and left after getting Mr. Xiong’s phone number from his wife. 

Two officers from the Yongan Township Police Station in Chaisang District went to the home of Gui Aidi (gender unknown) on June 21, 2021. They told Gui to go to the village office the next day to sign a guarantee statement, which is part of the procedure in the Zero-out Campaign (a campaign to force every practitioner on a government blacklist to renounce Falun Gong). 

31. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Mr. Zhang Huirong and Ms. Jiang Caixia were harassed at home in the Dongwangfuzhuang Village by four officers including Peng (given name not known) from the Nanchun Town Police Station around 6 p.m., June 22, 2021. They photographed the contents of their homes. 

Mr. Gao Hengbai was harassed at home in the Xiaozhen Village by five officers from the Landi Police Station in Nancun Town. They inquired whether Mr. Gao still practiced Falun Gong. They confiscated a poster which contained the words, “Falun Dafa is good.”

32. [Shanghai] Ms. Fan Guoping Arrested

Elderly practitioner Ms. Fan Guoping was reported to the police for distributing truth-clarifying materials and was arrested on January 21, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books and a computer were confiscated. She was first detained in the Putuo District Detention Center under the pretext of criminal detention. Since there was no evidence of wrongdoing, her status was later changed to administrative detention. 

Ms. Fan was reported to the police for distributing truth-clarifying materials and she was arrested again on the afternoon of May 15, 2021. Her son’s home was ransacked by twelve officers from the Dahua Police Station in the Baoshan District. Her own home in Changshou Road was then ransacked as well. Ms. Fan was taken to the Baoshan District Detention Center. She was detained there until June 11, 2021. She was released on bail pending trial for one year. 

33. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Luo Fengzhen and Ms. Wan Runxiu Harassed by Railway Police

Five friends and relatives traveled to Xiamen City in a tour group. Two of them, Ms. Luo Fengzhen and Ms. Wan Runxiu were Falun Gong practitioners. When the five were about to take the D6528 EMU Train back to Nanchang City on June 20, a railway station police officer confronted the two practitioners and searched their bags and their cell phones. The railway officers on the train were told to monitor them. They asked the practitioners' names and IDs. No other passengers in the same carriage were subjected to such an inspection. 

34. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested or Harassed

Three practitioners, Ms. Chen Jun, 85-year-old Ms. Lu Fengyun, nearly-80-year-old Ms. Lin Haiyan were harassed at their homes in the residential compound of the Pipeline Bureau in Dongchang Road on the morning of November 11, 2020. Twelve people from the Railway Police Station, the Dongchangfu District 610 Office, and the Domestic Security Division, ransacked their homes and confiscated their Falun Gong books and their paper bills imprinted with the Falun Gong facts. Mr. Chen Jun was taken to the police station that afternoon but was later released. 

Mr. Chen Jun was arrested again on January 20, 2021. He is still detained. 

Ms. Lu Fengyun was harassed at home one evening around March 15, 2021. A plainclothes officer from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee came to knock on her door. Many plainclothes officers were seen around Ms. Lu’s home around March 20, 2021. Ms. Lu had to leave to visit her son in Xuzhou City. Since June 2021, her son in Xuzhou City has been receiving harassing calls every day from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee. 

35. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] 18 Practitioners Harassed

Eighteen practitioners in the Shanhaiguan District have been harassed by officers from the Lunan Police Station, the Nanyaohe Police Station, the Xiguan Police Station, the Nanguan Police Station, and the Xijie Police Station, and by local community staff members and village officials. The practitioners are Song Lijuan, Chen Youjuan, Zhou Xiaoling, Li Guiwen, Gao Shuling, Zhu Fengying, Zhu Fengchun, Zhao Huanzhen, Mu Ruiqiu, Liu Xia, Yang Xiaoyong, An Yumin, Liu Xiuying, Liu Lihua, He Xiuhua, Lin Zhaohui, He Xiujie, and Sister Wen. The practitioners were harassed at their homes or received harassing phone calls. 

Officers from the Xiguan Police Station went to the home of Ms. Zhu Fengying three times. They pressured Ms. Zhu Fengying’s husband to sign a guarantee statement, which he refused. They threatened to arrest him. 

Two officers from the Xijie Police Station went to Ms. Zhao Huanzhen’s home and tried to photograph the contents, but they were stopped. 

Two officers from the Xijie Police Station went to the home of Zhu Fengchun on the afternoon of June 17, 2021. They inquired whether Zhu still practiced Falun Gong. They warned him not to go out or tell people about Falun Gong. 

Two officers from the Nanyaohe Police Station went to the home of Li Guiwen around 7 p.m. on June 17, 2021. They pressured Li to sign a guarantee statement. Li refused. 

Two officers from the Nanyaohe Police Station went to the home of Gao Shuling around 7 p.m. on June 18, 2021. They stood outside the door and shouted, asking Gao’s daughter whether her mother still practiced Falun Gong. Gao’s daughter answered that her mother was 70 years old and enjoyed good health because she practiced Falun Gong. The officers said her mother would implicate her and other family members if she continued to practice. 

A female staff member from the Lunan Community Office called He Xiuhua twice. She asked whether He Xiuhua still practiced Falun Gong and pressured He to go to the community office to sign a guarantee statement, which He refused to do. 

Ms. He Xiujie and her husband (also a practitioner) received harassing phone calls from Zhang Buqing, secretary of the Xiaozhuang Village Party Committee. They were pressured to sign a guarantee statement in the village office. They refused to go. 

Ms. Wen, 80, received a call from the Lunan Police Station. She was told to go to the police station to sign a guarantee statement. She did not go. 

36. [Huiren City, Shanxi Province] Three Practitioners Arrested 

Ms. Wang Lijun was arrested at home around 9 p.m. on May 12, 2021. When the electricity was shut off, she stepped outside to check. Someone on the stairs asked whether she was Wang Lijun. After she confirmed that she was, they broke into her home. She was given two options, to sign a guarantee statement or be arrested. She refused to sign and was arrested. 

On the same evening, Ms. Wang Cuiying was arrested. Several other practitioners were harassed. 

Ms. Guo Zhongxiang and her husband were also arrested. Ms. Guo’s husband was detained for one day. 

37. [Xinhuang County, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Liao Yuzhen in her 80s was harassed at her home in Bozhou Town by the town government officials on the afternoon of May 28, 2021. They even photographed her son and her daughter-in-law. 

The daughter of Ms. Cai Weili received a harassing call in early June 2021. She was threatened that her two children would be implicated if her mother still practiced Falun Gong. 

The son of Ms. Wu Yundi received two harassing calls from the police and local community staff members on the morning and afternoon of June 2, 2021.
