My Thoughts after Attending the Minghui Fahui

(Minghui.org) The main thing that stuck with me after attending the Minghui Fahui was that Master and the gods will help us if we have the heart for the project. We are all chosen by gods. We just need to show our commitment to the project and to our cultivation. Then all manner of things will open up for us.

Then how can we make this project better?

After the conclusion of the Fahui, during the Q&A session, the general coordinator asked us what are the biggest challenges we face.

My response was “us”—ourselves—and the attachments we bring to the project.

The first one that comes to mind is comfort. When I come home from work I check my Telegram [instant messaging app] accounts and social media posts to see responses from people I know. My intention is just to have a quick glance, then log off. But I find myself lingering for too long. I watch YouTube clips while I'm eating and find myself on there for too long. They are generally clips from practitioners, but I still spend far too much time watching them.

What the general coordinator said reminded me of a coordinator I met several years ago when I visited another country.

The details are sketchy as this happened years ago. We were invited to this practitioner’s home for Fa study and a meeting about the project. When we arrived, the coordinator was busy preparing a meal for her kids. She welcomed us into her home. As people arrived at different times, she discussed things with other practitioners. I was a new practitioner at the time and was in awe at what she was doing—how she was juggling family, practitioners, and the project.

To me, the biggest challenge for us taking Minghui forward come from our own attachments.

At the conclusion of the Fahui, the general coordinator said something like, “I hope that this Fahui has inspired everyone to improve in the Fa but that it won’t just last for a few days.” I chuckled because this is how I usually feel after attending a Fahui or being with practitioners on a project. I get inspired for a short time, then become lax again in my cultivation.

I also thought about the email from the coordinator about computer security. “The security level of the team is always as poor as the member who handles security the poorest.”

This reminds me that I am part of a team and my cultivation state affects my ability and the quality of the work I do for Minghui. This also affects the team and our ability to progress as a whole on Minghui.
