1. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Yi Qunren and Wang Xianshu Sentenced to Four Years in Prison, Verdict Upheld in Intermediate Court

Some practitioners including Yi Qunren and Wang Xianshu from Qifeng Town of Lu County gathered in a practitioner’s home on April 30, 2020 to celebrate the birthday of Falun Gong's founder. They were arrested and were later tried in the Lu County Court on September 1, 2020. Yi Qunren and Wang Xianshu were sentenced to four years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan respectively on December 21, 2020.

Yi and Wang appealed to the Intermediate Court. Their lawyers were informed by the court around April 2021 to submit their defense statement. The Intermediate Court issued a judgment on May 11, 2021 to uphold the original verdict in the first instance.

Yi Qunren was sentenced to four years in prison by the Lu County Court in 2014. Wang Xianshu was sentenced to three years in prison by the Zhenxiong Court in Yunnan Province in 2015. They both suffered a lot in the prison.

Wang Xianshu is currently in very poor physical condition in the detention center. Wang's heartbeat is sometimes faster than normal. He had thrombosis in his left leg and varicose veins in his right leg. His feet were swollen. He felt pain in his feet while walking. He is not allowed to go outside of the detention center to seek medical treatment.

2. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Case against Mr. Bai Xuesong Submitted to Court

The case of Mr. Bai Xuesong was submitted to the Lishan Court on the afternoon of June 16, 2021. The judge in charge is Liu Yin.

Mr. Bai’s lawyer met him at the No. 2 Detention Center on the morning of June 16, 2021. Mr. Bai was depressed and said the environment inside was not good. The lawyer found that Mr. Bai was afraid to talk more during the meeting.

3. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Kong Yuelian Harassed

Village official Wang Zhiyou and two officers in police uniforms came to Ms. Kong Yuelian’s home in the Longwangtang Village one day in March 2021. They pressed Ms. Kong to sign a guarantee statement promising to renounce Falun Gong, which Ms. Kong refused.

Village official Wang Reng and three officers in police uniforms came to Ms. Kong’s home again one day in May 2021. They pressed Ms. Kong to sign a guarantee statement. Once again Ms. Kong refused.

4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Cheng Dehan Repeatedly Harassed

Mr. Cheng Dehan from Jiang’an District was harassed for nearly 10 consecutive days from the end of May to early June 2021. Several people from the Jiang’an District Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the Xuzhou New Village Police Station, and local community office, came to knock on the door of Mr. Cheng’s home, to forcibly enter his home to look for him. Since Mr. Cheng was not at home, they kept coming back—sometimes six or seven times a day. Some stayed on the stairs and walkway, which seriously interfered with the normal life of Mr. Cheng’s family and their neighbors.

5. [Wuwei City, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhang Zhihu and Ms. Hou Juhua Harassed

Mr. Zhang Zhihu from Datong Village of Shuangcheng Town and Ms. Hou Juhua from Gaotougou Village were harassed by four officers from the Shuangcheng Town Police Station and the Zhuwangbao Police Station in Yongchang on the morning of June 17, 2021.

6. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Elderly Ms. Song Rongzhi Passed Away Due to Harassment

Three plainclothes officers from the Hebei Road Police Station, including Gao Junhua, came to elderly Ms. Song Rongzhi’s home on May 25, 2021. They started videotaping as soon as they entered the house. Ms. Song’s family tried to stop them. They stopped the videotaping but continued to audio record. Ms. Song was seriously ill when the police came and was unable to communicate with them. The officers said that they did not want to come, but were ordered by higher authorities. They said that as long as a family member signed a guarantee statement, they would not come anymore. The harassment made Ms. Song’s condition worse. She passed away 20 days later on June 14, 2021.

7. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Huirong Harassed

An unidentified person came to Mr. Zhang Huiring’s home in Dongwangfuzhuang Village, Nancun Town, at around 5 a.m., June 19, 2021. Since everyone in the family was working in the fields, no one answered the door when this person came. The person waited on the street for about two hours.

8. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiang Yufeng Harassed

Elderly Ms. Jiang Yufeng and another practitioner were talking at her home when several people from the local community office and the Domestic Security Division came on the afternoon of June 5, 2021. These people ransacked her home and confiscated two printers, two laptops, two cell phones, some truth-clarifying materials, and her Falun Gong books. They even took away their sitting mats.

When the other elderly practitioner advised them not to do this, she was taken away. The practitioner was released that evening.

9. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Cao Changqi Detained

Cao Changqi (gender unknown) from Caozhuang Village of Mengyin County has been taken to the Yinan County Detention Center.

10. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiaojiao Detained

Ms. Jiaojiao from Dongrulai Village of Mengyin County has been taken to the Linyi City Detention Center.

11. [Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yu Jinfeng Harassed

Ms. Yu Jinfeng was harassed at home by two officers, including Dong Wenda from the Hongqi Police Station around June 3, 2021. They had a camera with them. They asked Ms. Yu whether she still practiced Falun Gong and warned her not to go out to distribute flyers.

Three officers came to Ms. Yu’s home and knocked on her door on June 8, 2021. Ms. Yu recognized the police car from the window and did not open the door.

12. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Jiang Xue Persecuted

Ms. Jiang Xue was born in the 1980s and graduated with a Master's degree. She worked in Pufa Bank for more than 10 years, but was fired because of her beliefs.

Ms. Jiang was arrested and taken to the No. 4 Detention Center of Shenzhen City on April 25, 2020. She was later transferred to the Luohu Detention Center and then to the No. 3 Detention Center of Shenzhen City around July.

Ms. Jiang was tried in the Yantian District Court on October 29, 2020 and was sentenced to one year in prison on April 1, 2021. She was transferred to the Yantian Detention Center on March 25, 2021. During her detention, the Domestic Security officers talked to her twice and pressured her to sign a guarantee statement.

When Ms. Jiang was released, she was pressed to sign the three statements, which she refused. When she walked out of the gate of the detention center, a group of people tried to take her away. Her family members stopped them. Now, Ms. Jiang has returned to her hometown in northeast China. However, she is still constantly harassed.

13. [Tianjin] Ms. Zheng Qinghua Arrested

Ms. Zheng Qinghua from Ninghe District was arrested at her workplace, Huaidian Elementary School on June 13, 2021. She has been under long term surveillance and frequently speaks to people about Falun Gong on the street.

14. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Kai Sentenced to Six Years in Prison

Mr. Li Kai from Jinzhou City was sentenced to six years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan by the Linghai City Court on May 24, 2021. Yan Shengbin, deputy of Linghe District Domestic Security Division, directly participated in the persecution of Mr. Li Kai.

15. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Three male officers from the Huailaidong Police Station came to Ms. Li Fengqin’s home at around 3 p.m. on June 18, 2021. They asked all kinds of questions. One of them wanted to take photos with his cell phone, but Ms. Li stopped him.

The same people came to Ms. Xu’s home at around 4 p.m., June 18, 2021. Ms. Li Fenglian was also there. When she tried to leave, one of the officers followed her and wanted to take a photo of her. Ms. Li refused to cooperate. The officer grabbed her bag and found two weekly magazines in it. He confiscated them.

16. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Chunhong Harassed

Ms. Guo Chunhong, 78, was harassed at home by officers from the Chengshan Town Police Station one day in June 2021. They asked whether Ms. Guo still practiced Falun Gong. She said yes. They held the elderly lady’s hands behind her back, snatched the photo of Falun Gong's founder from the wall, and quickly slipped away. The old lady chased after them all the way to the street. The police drove away quickly.

17. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yu Yingzhu Arrested

More than twelve people from the Zhuzhou City Police Department, Lusong District Police Department and the Shifeng District Police Department including Huang Bin from the Zhuzhou City Police Department, came to the rented house of Ms. Yu Yingzhu at around 4 p.m., May 24, 2021. They broke the lock on the door and damaged the wooden door by kicking it.

They ransacked her home. They put some items on the ground and photographed them, including a few old cell phones, some plastic bags, two media players, a stapler, and a bag of rubber bands. Ms. Yu heard someone outside saying on the phone that they did not find any truth-clarifying materials.

From 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., these large men ran back and forth, called a fire truck, called a locksmith, called the neighbors to testify, took photos, and did video recordings. The neighbors wondered what was going on.

Ms. Yu was taken to the Jianning Police Station nearby. They collected her blood sample, took her photo, took a written statement, and warned her not to go to Beijing since the CCP’s centennial was approaching. Ms. Yu was released the next day.

18. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Lu Daxin Arrested and Detained

Mr. Lu Daxin was arrested by officers from the South Square Police Station and was detained in the Weizigou Detention House for 15 days. He was transferred to the No. 4 Detention Center of Changchun City at around 9 a.m., June 15, 2021.

19. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yu Shuqin and Mr. Li Zhonghua Harassed

Two officers, including Xu Xiangdong from the Hailin Farm Police Department, came to harass Ms. Yu Shuqin in the afternoon of June 15, 2021. Ms. Yu opened the door but did not let them in. Xu Xiangdong asked some questions not related to Falun Gong while the other officer secretly took photos with his cell phone. They then came to Mr. Li Zhonghua’s home and did the same thing.

20. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Zhengru Arrested

Ms. Yang Zhengru is a new practitioner. She was arrested at her home by a group of officers on June 16, 2021. Her whereabouts are unknown.

21. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Zhuqing Arrested and Detained

Ms. Li Zhuqing from Tiexi District was arrested around the time of the Dragon Boat Festival on June 14, 2021. Her home was ransacked. She has been detained in a detention center since then.

22. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Tianyi Arrested and Detained

Mr. Wang Tianyi and his older sister were arrested in his hometown of Guang’an City on June 14, 2021. Their mother, Ms. Huang Zhiping, is currently detained in prison. One of their relatives was also arrested with them.

The relative was released on the same day because of high blood pressure. His sister was released the following day on June 15, 2021. Mr. Wang was taken to a hospital in Chongqing to have a physical examination. He was found to have a brain tumor. He was escorted back to Nanchong City on June 16, 2021. It is unknown where he is currently detained.

23. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three More Practitioners Arrested

Several practitioners were arrested during a police operation on June 10, 2021, which was conducted by the Hailin City Police Department, the Xinhe Township Police Station, the No. 3 Police Station, and the No. 2 Police Station. Special police and the local community members were also involved. Besides those who knew about their arrests, Ms. He Shuling, Ms. Cao Fengmin and her daughter were also arrested that day.

24. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Jin Fuzhang To Be Released After Five Years in Prison

Mr. Jin Fuzhang was arrested on June 28, 2016 and was sentenced to five years in prison. He will be released on June 27, 2021.

25. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Chunling Harassed

Ms. Zhao Chunling was harassed at home in early June 2021. Gao Jun from the Taishitun Police Station, Peng Muhua from the town organization department, Zhao Chengzhi from the 610 Office, and Li Fuping from the neighborhood committee, came to Ms. Zhao’s home to harass her.

Ms. Zhao was also harassed at the beginning of September last year. Chen Shiqiang from the Taishitun Police Station and Zhao Chengzhi from the 610 Office came to her home. Ms. Zhao did not let them in and tried to tell them the facts about Falun Gong. They ransacked her home with the excuse that she had promoted Falun Gong. Ms. Zhao was taken to the police station. The next day they tried to send her to the Chaoyang District Detention Center, but failed because of her high blood pressure.

26. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Wenxiu Harassed

Five people from Zhizi Village of Dabusu Town in Qian’an County and the Dabusu Town Police Station came to Changchun City to look for Mr. Zhang Wenxiu in mid-May 2021. They didn’t find Mr. Zhang at his home. Later, they made his niece sign a guarantee statement on his behalf.

27. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Zhuqing Arrested

Ms. Li Zhuqing, 48, was arrested at home by officers from the Jihong Police Station on June 17, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Li was taken to the No. 1 Detention Center of Shenyang City on the same day.

28. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Du Xiumin and Pan Shiyuan Harassed

Four officers from the Gaotuan Town Police Station in Fushan District came to harass Ms. Du Xiumin and Pan Shiyuan (gender unknown) in Dukou Village on June 19, 2021. They searched every room of their homes and confiscated photos of Falun Gong's founder and other personal belongings.

29. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Bai Guoxian Passed Away Due to Persecution in Prison

Mr. Bai Guoxian, born in 1941, was arrested by officers from Queshan County on March 16, 2017. He was detained in the Queshan Detention Center.

Mr. Bai was sentenced to eight years in prison and fined 26,000 yuan by the Yicheng District Court in Zhumadian City on September 19, 2018. He was detained in the Zhengzhou Prison.

While imprisoned, Mr. Bai suffered from high blood pressure and had difficulty breathing in the second half of 2019. He was allowed to be bailed out for medical treatment. He died on April 19, 2021 at the age of 80.

30. [Yichun City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhang Yanlan and Her Mother Missing for Four or Five Years

Ms. Zhang Yanlan (born around 1985) and her mother are both Falun Gong practitioners. Their family has been unable to contact them for about four or five years.

31. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ge Zengzhen Arrested

Officers from the Chengshan Town Police Station hid near Ms. Ge Zengzhen’s home and broke into her home when Ms. Ge opened the door on November 3, 2020. They ransacked her home and confiscated truth-clarifying materials, a photo of Falun Gong's founder, two printers, a computer, a video player, two MP3 players, calendars, a Dafa book, and two boxes of printing paper.

Ms. Ge, her husband (also a practitioner) and another practitioner were arrested and taken to the police station. Ms. Ge was detained in a dark room. Someone held a flashlight, while others grabbed her hands and forced her to sign and give a fingerprint on some documents.

32. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Shuilian Harassed

Several people from the Qilihu Police Station, local community and the Qilihu Residential Committee came to harass Ms. Li Shuilan in her daughter’s house on June 18, 2021. Ms. Li and her husband stayed with her daughter. These people kept talking to Ms. Li and took photos, including the interior of the house.

33. [Sanyuan County, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Wei Zaiqiang Persecuted

Mr. Wei Zaiqiang was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. He was released on June 18, 2021. After he was released, he learned that his mother had passed away while he was detained.

34. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Geng Lutang Detained

Mr. Geng Lutang was released on bail pending trial. He was detained by two officers, including Zhang Jingshan from the Hekou District Police Department, on May 28, 2021. According to the police, Mr. Geng would be detained in the Hekou Detention Center for two weeks and then transferred to the Dongying City Detention Center for another two weeks.

35. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Practitioner and Wife Arrested

A practitioner and his wife were arrested around June 17, 2021. The wife was released because of health problems. The husband is currently detained in the Heigou Detention Center.

36. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] About 50 Practitioners Harassed

About 50 practitioners have been harassed in Baoding City and its affiliated region since May 2021. The related organizations include the 610 Office, the Political and Legal Affairs Committees, the township/town government, the different police stations, etc. Here is a partial list of the practitioners being harassed.

Bailong Township:Chen Zhen, Xing Yuliang, Jing Xiuying, Xu XiumeiDaceying Town:Guo Lan, Xu Yiying;Yaozhuang Township:Shi Chunlai and his wife, Liu Huilan, Shi Wenping, Kang Yanmei, Lao Liu, Lao Ran, Zhao Baoling, Zhang Guirong, Huang Lingmin, Gou Fuzhen, Zhang Jinghua, Wang Hong’er, Fan Wenxia,Yuzhen;Nanhancun Town:Chen Lansuo, Liang Dashui, Tian Yinsu, Tian Junying, Lu Sumin, Han Shumin, Shi Lihuan, Zhang Xiurong and an elderly female practitioner;Tuonan Township:Zhang Qiuhong, Ma Rongxiang;Yuzhuang Township:A practitioner in Tang Village;Shenxing Town:Yan Shulan, Yan Erxin, Zhai Sanhong, Li Liancheng, Wu Rong, Li Shengzi, Chen Feng, Xu Jinzi, Wei Guizhi, Wei Jintai;Urban area:Yan Xinpu, Song Xiujing, Wang Yulan.

Yan Shulan from Shenxing Town was cooking at home around noon, in May 2021 when several officers from the Daceying Police Station broke into her home. They told Yan to go with them to the police station regarding last year’s case. Yan was then taken for a physical examination, which found that she was unfit to be detained. She was released in the evening.
