(Minghui.org) A Shenyang City, Liaoning Province resident is being tortured at the Masanjia Prison for not renouncing her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Jin Hong, in her 50s, was arrested on December 4, 2019 while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home in the afternoon and confiscated her Falun Gong informational materials.
The police later submitted her case to the Tiexi District Procuratorate, which indicted her and forwarded her case to the Tiexi District Court. After the judge sentenced her to four years, she appealed with the Shenyang City Intermediate Court. While the intermediate court was still considering her appeal, the authorities transferred her from the Shenyang City Detention Center to the Masanjia Prison. It remains unclear what decision (if any) the appeals court has made.
It’s been reported that Ms. Jin has been tortured for over ten days for not renouncing her faith. The local Falun Gong practitioners are calling on the international community to help rescue her.
Prior to her latest sentencing, Ms. Jin was arrested on March 12, 2017 after being followed for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. The police searched her bag, took her pictures and collected her blood sample.
She was arrested again on November 14, 2018, also for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was released after ten days of detention.
