(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 39 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Mu Zhitai Arrested and Detained

Mr. Mu Zhitai, 52, was arrested by officers from the Fucheng District Police Department on June 22, 2021. His rented house was ransacked and many personal belongings were confiscated. Mr. Mu has been detained in the Mianyang City Detention Center for more than 20 days.

2. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Cui Qunying Faces Trial

Cui Qunying (gender unknown) will be tried in court at 9 a.m. on July 21, 2021.

3. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Five practitioners were arrested around July 1, 2021 and their homes were ransacked. They are Pang Shengli, Li Meiju, Yao Xiurong, Ma Baoling, and Xiao Cai. Practitioners Pang Shengli and Yao Xiurong have been released due to their poor health.

4. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Li Guiwen Arrested

Li Guiwen (gender unknown) from Qingliangsi District was arrested by plainclothes officers on the morning of June 27, 2021 for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Zhangzhuang Market. Officers from the Baichigan Township Police Station and the Qingliangsi District Police Department ransacked Li’s home and confiscated the Dafa books, the lecture CDs, etc. Li was bailed out and has returned home.

5. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Shurong Harassed Multiple Times

Ms. Zhou Shurong has been harassed multiple times by people from the Xinjian Town Government, the Xinjian Town Police Station, and the Shunqing District 610 Office.

Several officers from the Xinjian Town Police Station went to knock on the door of Ms. Zhou’s home in the winter of 2020. No one was home. Later, village officials Yan Lin and Zhang Dayuan went to her home and pressured her to sign the three statements, which she refused to do. They threatened to impact her grandson's schooling.

Several officers, including the head of the Xinjian Town Police Station and officer Zeng Fugui, went to Ms. Zhou’s home at around 8 p.m. on June 23, 2021. Ms. Zhou and her husband were videotaped by the officers with three cell phones. Ms. Zhou turned away and refused to cooperate.

The village chief Zhang Dayan went to Ms. Zhou’s home on the morning of July 5, 2021. He threatened Ms. Zhou and told her not to talk to people about Falun Gong. That evening, Zhang Dayan and three other people went to her home again. They didn’t leave until 10 p.m.

Xiao Qing from the 610 Office went to Ms. Zhou’s vegetable booth in the market and bought many vegetables around 6 p.m. on July 9, 2021. He asked Ms. Zhou to deliver them to the cafeteria in the Normal School. However, after Ms. Zhou arrived, she found out it was a brainwashing center in Lianchi Road. Xiao Qing forcibly took Ms. Zhou to the second floor, where several people were waiting. Ms. Zhou turned around and left quickly and said that she had to sell vegetables.

Xiao Qing from the 610 Office and another woman from the village went to Ms. Zhou’s home around 9 p.m. on July 12, 2021. Xiao Qing said to Ms. Zhou, “I haven’t finished talking to you. It is against the law to practice Falun Gong.” Ms. Zhou’s family member drove them out.

6. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Gao Deyuan Harassed

Mr. Gao Deyuan lives in Liulin Road Community, Xinjian Town, Shunqing District. His neighbor He Zhisheng went to his home on the afternoon of July 1, 2021 and told him that the local community staff members wanted to meet Mr. Gao’s daughter about signing the three statements (to renounce Falun Gong). Mr. Gao refused.

The director of the Liulin Road Community Office led four people from the district 610 Office to Mr. Gao’s home on the morning of July 7, 2021. They pressured Mr. Gao to sign the three statements, which he refused to do. They warned Mr. Gao not to go out and distribute flyers.

Some people from the district 610 Office and Mr. Gao’s neighbor He Zhisheng went to knock on his door at around 11 a.m. on July 14, 2021. No one was at home at that time.

7. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Chen Xia was harassed at her workplace on November 19, 2020. Liang Jing, deputy director of Longguan Town of Chicheng County, pressured Ms. Chen to sign a guarantee statement, which she refused. The next day, Liang Jing went to Ms. Chen’s workplace again, but Ms. Chen was out.

Gao Zhenfei, head of the Law Executive Division, went to harass Ms. Chen in her workplace at around 4 p.m. on November 25, 2020. He wanted to videotape and photograph Ms. Chen, which she refused. Later, Gao Zhenfei and Chen Gang, deputy town chief, went to harass Ms. Chen in her home.

Ms. Chen was harassed in her workplace by village official Yan Yingrui and Wang Shaoyun from the local police station around 10 a.m. on June 2, 2021. They asked whether she still practiced Falun Gong and other personal information.

Then, two of them went to harass Mr. Liu Zhibao in his home.

Over-80-year-old Liu Chang was harassed at home by the Gaowanggou Village officials Han Guiqing, Xiao Enhua and Wu En just before the Chinese New Year of 2021.

8. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Jingzhi Arrested Last Year

Ms. Xu Jingzhi, 79, was reported to police for distributing truth-clarifying materials in the residential community and was arrested by officials from the Qianjin District Police Department and the Shunhe Police Station around 7 p.m. on March 1, 2020. Her home was ransacked and her personal belongings, including a printer, computer, her Dafa books, and truth-clarifying materials, were confiscated.

Ms. Xu was interrogated in the police department and was released on bail pending trial later that day.

9. [Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province] Case Against Mr. Liu Qinju Submitted to Procuratorate

Mr. Liu Qinju has been on bail pending trial for one year. On the last day, July 12, 2021, three officers, including Liu Qing from the Hulin City Domestic Security Division, went to Mr. Liu’s home and took him to the Mishan District Procuratorate.

10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ren Haifei and Ms. Sun Zhongli Face Trial

Mr. Ren Haifei and Ms. Sun Zhongli were arrested on June 26, 2020. Mr. Ren has been detained in the Yaojia Detention Center. Ms. Sun was released on bail pending trial due to her pregnancy. Ms. Sun’s lawyer received a notice that they would be tried in the Ganjingzi Court at 1 p.m., on July 29, 2021.

11. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Follow-up on Massive Arrests

More than 20 practitioners were arrested by over 100 officers in Jiaozhou City on June 2, 2021. Now some of them have been released including Gao Xiu’e, Song Jihua, Song Xinjian, Sun Yuyun, and Song Guiqin. Some were released on bail pending trial. Song Guiqin was threatened with having her salary suspended.

Ji Jinmu and Yu Baiqing have not returned home yet. They may have been placed under official arrest and detained in the Ducun Detention Center.

12. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Zhang Chongfu Arrested and Detained

Zhang Chongfu (gender unknown) from Fengshun County was arrested in the Luohu District on July 7, 2021. Zhang is currently detained in the Longgang District Detention Center.

13. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Four practitioners Ms. Jiao Guichun, Ms. Hou Shuxian, Ms. Li Xiuyun, and Wang Ce (gender unknown), were reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Gejia Town Market and were arrested by officers from the Wendeng Police Station on June 19, 2021. The police ransacked the homes of Ms. Jao Cuichun and Wang Ce. The four practitioners were released on bail pending trial later that day. The practitioner’s car was confiscated and has not been returned.

14. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Huo Fengqin Harassed

People from the Liuyuan Police Station, the Liucheng City 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division tried to harass Ms. Huo Fengqin but failed to find her. Her home has been under police surveillance since June 23, 2021. Ms. Huo has to stay away from her home to avoid arrest.

15. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Four practitioners, including Ms. Jiao Guichun, were reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in Jieshi Town of the Jieshi District and were arrested by officers from the Jieshi Town Police Station on June 27, 2021. Their cellphones and car were confiscated. The four practitioners were released on the same day.

16. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Chen Ling Extorted

Chen Ling (gender unknown) was arrested in 2020. Chen’s family was forced to pay 100,000 yuan in order to get him/her out.

17. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Qiao Shengzhi Harassed

Two officers from the Shachengxi Police Station went to Ms. Qiao Shengzhi’s home in Shacheng Town of Huailai County around 9 a.m. on April 26, 2021. Ms. Qiao’s husband opened the door for them. When he was told to sign some forms related to Falun Gong, he refused to cooperate.

18. [Tongbai County, Henan Province] Ms. Sun Hengying Arrested and Detained

Ms. Sun Hengying from Xinji Township was arrested by officers from the local township police station on July 12, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Her personal belongings, including two copies of Zhuan Falun, four Minghui Weekly, and two media players, were confiscated. Ms. Sun is currently detained in the Tongbai County.

19. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Haidong Arrested

Ms. Xu Haidong lives in Zhuhuosanli Village, Guan County, Shandong Province. She was arrested in Beijing just before July 1, 2021.

20. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Zhanghe Arrested

Mr. Zhao Zhanghe was harassed at home around 8:30 p.m. on June 25, 2021. Several officers, led by Yang Jun, head of the Chongwen Police Station, and Xusanli Village official Chen Aidong, went to Mr. Zhao’s home and confiscated more than 20 Dafa books and an e-book. They took Mr. Zhao to the police station and inquired about the source of the books. Mr. Zhao did not cooperate. He was released later that day.
