(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 58 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Zulan and Ms. Chen Baoqiong Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Liu Zulan was sentenced to three years in prison.

Ms. Chen Baoqiong, 79, was sentenced to two years and six months with the same period of probation and fined 3000 yuan by the Qianwei Court. She was taken to the court by three officers at around 7 a.m. on July 5, 2021 to go through the court procedure. The verdict stated that she was 75 years old, which is not her correct age.

2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Case against Ms. Li Hui Submitted to Court

Ms. Li Hui, 19, is a freshman at the Weifang Vocational College of Nursing. She was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and has been detained in the Weifang City Detention Center for 79 days. Her case has been submitted to the Qingzhou Court.

3. [Beijing] Case against Three Practitioners Submitted to Court

The case against Ms. Jiang He and her parents, Ms. Yang Bo and Mr. Jiang Jingyong, has been submitted to the Xicheng District Court by the Xicheng District Procuratorate. The three practitioners are currently being detained in the Xicheng District Court.

4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Han Kai Detained in Shiqiao Brainwashing Center

Han Kai (gender unknown) is currently detained in the Shiqiao Brainwashing Center in the Jiang’an District. This brainwashing center has existed for several years. More than 500 practitioners have been detained there illegally. Practitioners who were recently arrested for distributing truth-clarifying materials are also detained there. Since their heads were covered when they entered or exited the building, no one knows where this place is or what it looks like.

5. [Anda City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Three practitioners, Ms. Sui Xiufang, Ms. Ha Yujie, and Chang Fang (gender unknown), were arrested by officers including Liu Lifeng from the Anda City Police Department on the morning of July 3, 2021. The practitioners were placed under 15-day detention.

6. [Anguo City, Hebei Province] Zhong Lijie Harassed

Four people broke into the home of Zhong Lijie (gender unknown) at around noon on July 2, 2021. They asked Zhong whether he/she still believed in Falun Gong, and whether Zhong still had any Falun Gong books. They searched around and confiscated one booklet.

7. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Liu Lijun Arrested

Liu Lijun (gender unknown) from Xiashan Town of Chaonan District was arrested at home on the evening of July 6, 2021.

8. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Duan Shuying Harassed Repeatedly

Ms. Duan Shuying, 75, lives in Zougezhuang Village, Qishan Town. She has been harassed at home eight times since February 2021, twice in February, once in April, four times in May, and one time when Ms. Duan was not at home. The same four people came to harass her six times. Each time they brought a printed form and demanded that she sign it and press her fingerprints on it. They threatened her and said that if she did not cooperate it would affect the future of her children and her grandchildren in their job searches, schooling, military enrollment, etc.

Six people from the town government went to Ms. Duan’s home to harass her again on May 22, 2021.

9. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Meiju Harassed

Ms. Wang Meiju lives in Xialinzhuang Village, Qishan Town. Four people from the town political and legal affairs committee went to Ms. Wang’s home at around 10 a.m. on June 24, 2021. They did not show any identification, and searched her home. They confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, two boxes of incense, and some truth-clarifying materials.

10. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Mr. Yan Huju Arrested

Mr. Yan Huju was arrested at his own store on the afternoon of June 25, 2021. His store and home were ransacked. The cash in his store was confiscated. Mr. Yan was taken to the Luergou Detention Center in Qinzhou District in the afternoon.

11. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Sun Zhancheng Harassed

Four police officers went to the home of 84-year-old Sun Zhancheng (gender unknown) at around 9 a.m. on May 24, 2021. They confiscated all of Sun’s Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a calendar, and a wall poster.

12. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Arrested and Harassed

Ms. Ding Yan was arrested by officers from the Jiangdong Police Station on June 24, 2021, and her home was ransacked. She is currently detained in the Changliu Detention Center.

Four people including officers from the Jiangdong Police Station went to harass 80-year-old Ms. Li Shurong and 82-year-old Ms. Li Shufen at their homes on the morning of June 24, 2021.

Ms. Wei Yuanzhi was harassed at home multiple times. She has left her home to avoid the persecution.

Jiao Yugui (gender unknown) was also harassed.

13. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Six Practitioners Harassed

Several officers including Ni Tonghua from the Nanyang Police Station went to harass several practitioners on the afternoon of June 28, 2021. The practitioners included Ni Zhenxuan, Shi Xiaojiu, Yang Lanying, Zhang Shuling, Ni Min, and Wu Xiuchi. The police only met Yang Lanying and Wu Xiuchi at their homes. Both refused to have their photo taken with the officers.

These officers met Zhang Shuling on the street. They pressured Zhang to say he/she no longer practiced Falun Gong. Zhang did not cooperate.

14. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Lin Suliang Arrested

Ms. Lin Suliang from the Xinjin District was arrested on July 9, 2021 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to her home at around 11:30 a.m., and her home was ransacked.

15. [Chongqing] Four Practitioners Detained in the Yubei District Detention Center

It was learned on July 10, 2021 that besides Zhang Yumei and Wang Jimei, two other practitioners (mother and daughter) are currently being detained in the Yubei District Detention Center.

16. [Huai’an City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Li Jiuping Faces Trial

Ms. Li Jiuping was arrested on August 6, 2020 for distributing truth-clarifying materials and was released on bail pending trial on the same day.

Her case was submitted to the Qingjiangpu District Procuratorate in late April 2021. It was sent to the Qingjiangpu Court on May 14, 2021. Ms. Li is scheduled to be tried in court at 9:30 a.m. on September 13, 2021.

17. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Feng Xianzhi Arrested and Detained

Ms. Feng Xianzhi was arrested by officers from the Minzhu Police Station. She is currently detained in the Changliu Detention Center.

18. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Lijun and Ms. Jiang Hehua Harassed

Ms. Liu Lijun lives in Caohe Town, Qichun County. She was harassed at home by police on June 24, 2021. All of her Falun Gong books were confiscated. The next day they returned her Zhuan Falun book in order to trick her into signing her name.

Ms. Jiang Hehua lives in Chidong Town, Qichun County. She has been harassed by officials from the Qichun Town government. When they tried to photograph her, she stopped them.

19. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xie Shuizhang Harassed

Mr. Xie Shuizhang was informed by village officials that he was to stop by the Wangcun Town Comprehensive Management Office on July 13, 2021. He was told that someone from the provincial government wanted to have a talk with him. Mr. Jie told them that he had no time and would not go there.

Mr. Jie was arrested by officers from the Wangchun Town Police Station in mid-November 2020. He was detained in the Dazhuang Detention Center in Zhouchun District for more than a month. He was released on bail pending trial.

20. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Chen Jie Harassed

Ms. Chen Jie was harassed by people from the Hujiamiao Police Station and the local neighborhood committee in late June 2021. She was pressured to sign the three statements, which she refused. A relative of Ms. Chen Jie then received a harassing call and was told to sign the statements on behalf of Ms. Chen. The relative refused.

21. [Yongdeng County, Gansu Province] Mr. Ge Qingchun Missing

Mr. Ge Qingchun was sentenced to four years in prison by the Chengguan District Court in 2012. He was detained in the Lanzhou City Prison. Since then, there has been no news about him. It is unclear whether or not he has been released.

22. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Dong Xiuling and Ms. Shen Jingli Detained

Ms. Dong Xiuling and Ms. Shen Jingli were reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Daxizhang Village Market in the Xushui District on the morning of July 3, 2021. They were taken to the local police station and later to the police department. Their family members were told to pay a fine of 600 yuan and 300 yuan in medical examination fees for each of them. Both practitioners were taken to a detention house but were released after it was learned they were diagnosed with Hepatitis A.

Police officers took Ms. Dong and Ms. Shen to the Baoding Infectious Disease Hospital for physical examinations at around 8:30 a.m. on July 5, 2021. Their homes were then ransacked. The police confiscated two Falun Gong books, 12 CDs, two calendars, and two small pendants from Ms. Dong’s home. Nothing was found in Ms. Shen’s home.

Ms. Dong and Ms. Shen were taken to a detention house after their physical examination reports came out on the morning of July 9, 2021.

23. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] 13 Practitioners Face Trial

Thirteen practitioners were arrested in Fengnan District on August 12, 2020. They will be tried in the Fengnan District Court on July 20, 2021. The practitioners included Ms. Zhang Zhilan from Fengrun District, Mr. Liu Weili from Lunan District, and 11 practitioners from Fengnan District including Ms. Wang Huilin, Ms. Liu Jinying, Ms. Li Yuying, Mr. Hu Yincang, Ms. Tong Xiulan, Lu Lifa, Mr. Zuo Desheng, Ms. Cui Shuyu, Mr. Hou Jianguang, Mr. Wang Baozhu, and Ms. Bi Guanqin.

24. [Kaili City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Luo Jindi Arrested and Detained

Ms. Luo Jindi was arrested by officers from the Dashizi Police Station on June 17, 2021, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She is currently being detained in the Kaili City Detention Center.

25. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhou Houchun Harassed

Mr. Zhou Houchun was harassed at home by people from the Jiuchi Town Government on July 6, 2021. He was pressured to sign a guarantee statement, which he refused.

26. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chen Juan Arrested

Ms. Chen Juan was arrested at home by officers from Changchun City at around 8 a.m. on July 5, 2021. Her husband was not at home but her child was present when she was arrested.
